Beep Beep

Here is today's card, perfect for a little boy!

The card is 5" round.  I used the "Wild Card" cartridge for the card base, and the circle mats.  The card base I used can be found on page 48 of the handbook.  I just used Cricut Craft Room to hide the circle cut-out in the middle of the card.  I then used the liner feature for that same cut and hid the interior cut again to create my striped mat, it was cut at 4 3/4."

The car is from the "Beep Beep" cartridge.  I cut it at 3."  I used Cricut Craft Room to hide the smile that would have been cut out of the red layer, just above the bumper.  I added some googly eyes to the windshield and adhered it to the card on an action wobble, so it wiggles around.

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the "Dancing in Circles" set.  I cut out a 1 1/4" circle and stamped the sentiment with rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko.  I added a red button to the middle of the sentiment to finish off the outside of the card.

The inside has the same size striped mat as the outside (4 3/4").  I also cut another circle out of cream, this one at 3 1/2."  I then used a stamp from Paper Smooches for my interior sentiment.  It is from the "Birthday Sampler" set and is also stamped in the rich cocoa ink.  I also trimmed the bottom edge of the  inside of the card so that it would stand upright.

I made this card for the following challenges:
BBTB2: car
My Sheri Crafts: masculine
The Friday Mashup: project with a movable element and stripes
{PIN}spirational Challenges: photo inspiration (I was inspired by the colors of the truck and the child in it - hence why I made a card for little boy)

Perfect Sentiments: "Metal Embellished Birthday"

Here is this week's Perfect Sentiments challenge:

"Metal Embellished Birthday"
The challenge: create a card with a birthday sentiment
The twist: use some metal on your card

Here is what I came up with for this challenge:
The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made using black cardstock.  I cut some silver cardstock at 5 1/4"x4" and another piece of black cardstock at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  My final layer is a piece of craft metal that I cut at 5"x3 3/4" and embossed with the Cuttlebug and the Chicken Wire embossing folder.  I cut a strip of green cardstock at 5"x1 1/4" and then punched it with a grass border punch.  I stamped the sentiment on it, then adhered it to the card.  I used Beep Beep to cut the tractor at 2 1/2."  I finished off the card with two brads in the center of the wheels.  All that turns into the perfect card for a little boy's birthday.

Now it is your turn to link up your card creation.  Head on over to The Perfect Sentiment and link up your card.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Fire Truck

I made this card for the fiance of my husband's cousin. He just recently became a volunteer firefighter and was extremely excited about it. My husband and I are both very happy for him, and a little jealous since we are not currently on a fire department. :) The card is 4"x9" and I used cardstock from my stash for most of it. The fire truck is cut at 3." I used pop-dots to adhere the wheels and ladder to the truck and to adhere the truck to the card base. I stamped my sentiment and then went over it again with black diamond Stickles. I added yellow Stickles to the headlight and top light. I also gave the truck a coat of glossy accents to make it bright, shiny, red truck! :)
Supplies used:
  • Cardstock: The Paper Company
  • Patterned paper: Paper House Productions
  • Cartridges: Beep Beep - fire truck
  • Stamp: The Paper Company - "Greetings"
  • Ranger: glossy accents, Stickles - black diamond and yellow
I made this for the following challenges:
