Sassy

Since I start school tomorrow I had to make sure that I got a little crafting in today.  This is the card I made:

The card is 5"x7" and made of dark purple card stock.  The yellow polka dot card stock is 4 3/4"x6 3/4."  The dark purple square is 4 1/2"x4 1/2" and the light purple square is 4 3/8"x4 3/8."  The background mat is made with the "Elegant Edges" Cricut cartridge.  I cut it at 4" wide.  It is embossed with the Sizzix Bubble Wrap embossing folder.  The scallop border is from the "Holiday Cakes" cartridge.  I cut it at 5" wide, then added a small strip of dark purple card stock at the top of it.

The girl is from SVG Cutting Files, it is called Sassy Thing.  She is cut at 4" tall.  I added some purple glitter to her top and used some purple gems for her hair.  I used Wink of Stella on her lips, shoes, and eyelashes.  I covered her eye and mouth with glossy accents.  I also inked her hair with Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  She is adhered to the card with foam tape.

The sentiment is stamped on a speech bubble from "Photo Booth Props."  I cut it at just over 2" wide and hid the words that were supposed to be cut with the bubble.  I then used a Jaded Blossom stamp for the sentiment.  It is from the Sassy Pants set.  I used foam tape to adhere this as well.

I cut another piece of the yellow polka dot card stock at 4 3/4"x6 3/4."  I then cut a piece of dark purple card stock at 3"x5" and some white card stock at 2 7/8"x4 7/8."  I used another stamp from the Sassy Pants set by Jaded Blossom for the sentiment.

I made this for the following challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges: bubble (I used a speech bubble & the bubble wrap embossing)
Pile It On: use something that starts with the first letter of your first name (purple & polka dots)
Seize the Birthday: anything goes
Naughty or Nice Challenges: silly (this sentiment makes me giggle)

Tee-riffic Golfer

I was feeling pretty craft today and made a second card:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4," and made with black card stock.  The background is from Elegant Edges, cut at 4 1/4" wide.  I embossed the white layer with the Polka Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, the flipped it to use the de-bossed side, making it look similar to the dimples on a golf ball.  I cut the circle using one of the insertable shapes available in Cricut Design Space.  The golf bag is from All Sports.  I then added some enamel dots in the corners.

The adorable minion golfer is an svg from a blog hop hosted by SVG Cutting Files.

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the For the Boys set.

I made this for the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut: fun in the sun
Scrappy Moms Stamps: play, game, hobby, etc.
SVG Cutting Files: anything goes

Robot Birthday

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made with grey card stock.  I cut a dark blue mat at 5 3/8"x4 1/8" and a mat from the gear patterned card stock at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  The cog-shaped mat on which I put the robot, is from the "Elegant Edges" cartridge, cut at 4 1/2."  I embossed the white part of the mat with the Tim Holtz embossing folder called Riveted Metal.

The robot is from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called, Sickly Robot.  I hid the face and cut off the water bottle so that I could make it work for a birthday card.  I adhered the head with foam tape.  They eyes and all blue parts are covered with glossy accents.  I added some gears by Tim Holtz as a little added accent.

The face on the robot is from the Erkle and Merkle Face Assortment by Peachy Keen Stamps.

On the inside I cut another piece of dark blue card stock at 5"x3 3/4."  I also cut some gear patterned card stock at 4 7/8"x3 5/8."  The cog-shaped mat is again from "Elegant Edges" and this one is cut at 3 1/2."

Both sentiments are from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  The one on the front is from the Fan-tastic set.  The one on the inside is from the Kids Incorporated set.

I made this for the following challenges:

Celebrate

Well, I finished my finals yesterday so I finally have some free time.  So, with some of that free time I made a card and coordinating envelope.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I used white card stock for the base and then cut a yellow patterned mat at 5 3/8"x4 1/8."

The background label was cut from "Elegant Edges" at 4 1/2."  I embossed the white layer with the Cuttlebug embossing folder, Feather Illusion by Anna Griffin.  The HB is from "Mondo Fonts."  It was cut at 2."  I covered the yellow parts of the letters with glossy accents and the orange parts of the letters with orange peel Sickles.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  It is from the Salutations stamp set.  I stamped it in turquoise gem ink by Tsukineko.  I then finished off the card with some teal enamel dots.

I used a pre-made ivory envelope to create a coordinating envelope for my card.  I cut some strips of teal and orange card stock for the front.  I then used some of the circles that were cut out from the letters to add to the flap.  I also used a piece of leftover yellow patterned card stock to make a liner.

I made this for the following challenges:

Cupcake Inspirations: color combination

My Sheri Crafts: birthday card and coordinating envelope

You Can't Get Much Sweeter Than This

This is the card I made for my brother's birthday, which is Friday.

The card is 4 1/2"x4 1/2" and made of black card stock.  I used some patterned orange card stock as a mat, cut at 4 3/8"x4 3/8."

The label is from "Elegant Edges" and is cut at 4."  The image is actually a glucose (sugar) molecule.  It is a digital image I found in Cricut Design Space.  My brother is a bit of science nerd (as am I) and I thought it would a fun card for him.

I made this for the current challenge at CASology.  Their cue word this week is "sweet."  I figured, what could be sweeter than glucose?

Chickie

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all!  I am a wee bit Irish, so I wore my green today.  In fact I am always prepared and wearing green:
I have a nice clover tattoo on my arm, along with some other Celtic knot work.  So, I enjoyed my Irish whiskey tonight and hope you had a fun, but safe, St. Patrick's Day.  Sláinte!

With that being said, I made a card that is definitely not related to St. Patrick's Day and here it is:

It sure is cute, but definitely not in the green theme.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made with yellow card stock.  I cut some pink polka dot paper at 5 1/4"x4" as a mat.  The label shape was made with "Elegant Edges."  It was cut at 3 1/4" and I embossed the white layer with a Paper Studio embossing folder called Quatrefoil.  The bird is from the "Cherry Limeade" cartridge and cut at 2 1/2."  I used a sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps, the Faceless Chickens set and heat embossed it with yellow powder.  I finished off the card with some yellow and white sequins.

I made this for the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut: make a project with a bird or birds
Scrappy Moms Stamps: use pink and yellow
Die Cuttin' Divas: celebrate spring

Chocolate Covered Sweetness

Today's card is simply sweet:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made from brown card stock.  The striped mat is cut at 5 3/8"x4 1/8."  The scalloped oval is from "Elegant Edges," and is cut at 4 3/4" (both the regular and shadow layers).  I embossed the white scallop with an embossing folder by The Paper Studio called Quatrefoil.

The strawberry is from the "Sweet Shop" cartridge  It is cut at 2.57."  I embossed the red layer with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I also covered the brown card stock with glossy accents.  I used foam tape to mount the strawberry for some added dimension.

The banner is from "Victorian Romance."  It is cut at 2.12."  I inked the edges of the pink layer with picked raspberry Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Fiskars and stamped in rich cocoa ink by Tsukineko.  I then added some pink enamel dots to the top right and bottom left corners.

I cut some pink card stock at 5 1/4"x4," and some white card stock at 5"x3 3/4" for the inside of my card.  I then cut a scalloped circle at 2," using "Elegant Edges."  The sentiment from My Craft Spot, the Tasty Treats set.  I stamped it in picked raspberry Distress Ink.

I made this for the following challenges:
BBTB2: favorite Cricut cut (I can't pick one favorite, but I love this chocolate covered strawberry and Elegant Edges is one of my favorite cartridges)
Scrappy Moms Stamps: use a sweet image

Christmas Joy

Today I am sharing with you the card I decided to make for sending out to my family and friends.  I went with two variations of the same design.  The only thing I changed up were the colors of the backgrounds, but otherwise I used the same images and sentiments.

The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4" and made from white card stock.  I used a polka dot patterned card stock for the background, it is cut at 4 1/4"x6."  The patterned card stock is actually double sided, so one side is the red and the other side is the green.  I loved both sides, which is why I made two variations of this card.

The image of the reindeer is from the Silhouette Store.  It is called Reindeer with Christmas Wreath and is by PPbN Designs (#52530).  I used the print and cut feature to make this simpler to create since I made 60 of these cards.  It would have taken so much longer to piece everything together, so the print and cut feature is fantastic for something like this!  The reindeer is just shy of 5" tall.

I used "Elegant Edges" to create the shaped label on which the reindeer is placed.  It is found on page 51 of the handbook and cut at 5," using the oblong and shadow-shift features.  I used a stamp from My Craft Spot for the sentiment, it is from the Merry & Bright set, and stamped all the labels before I embossed them.  They were embossed with a Cuttlebug folder called Snowflakes.

I used the same patterned card stock for the inside as well.  They are cut at 4"x5 3/4."  I used the same label as the front, just the basic feature so that it cut square.  This time it is cut at 3."  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot again, this time the Christmas Chalkboard set.  I finished off both the front and inside with some Stickles,

I am entering this into the current challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  The challenge is a family appropriate Christmas card or project.  I figure what is more family appropriate than the card I am sending out to all my family?
