Tons of Fun

This fun shaped card is for my godson's birthday, which is coming up at the end of the month.

The card was made by using an elephant from "ZooBalloo" to create the base.  I cut two of the shadows and adhered them together at the top.

The balloons are from "Birthday Bash."  I used foam tape to adhere them at the top and regular glue to adhere them under the trunk.  The flag is from "Create a Critter."  I hid the face on the flag and then stamped my sentiment on the flag.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the Mini Messages set.  I used foam tape to adhere the top part and regular glue to adhere the stick under the trunk.  I added a bow from "The First Few Years" to finish off the front.

I used two different stamps to create my sentiment on the inside.  The top part is from Jaded Blossom, the Party Animal stamp set.  The bottom part is from My Favorite Things, the Adorable Elephants set.

Happy Birthday Mate!

Here is a fun birthday card for you today:

The card base is from "Creative Holiday Cards."  I used patterned card stock for the base and background from the Sky's the Limit Stack by DCWV.  The grass is from "ZooBalloo."  I colored all my images with Chameleon Color Tones markers.

The image stamps are all from Lawn Fawn.  The tree, kookaburra, and platypus are all from the Critters Down Under set.  I cut them all out with the coordinating dies.  The party hat on the platypus is from the Lovable Legends set.  The presents are from the Beep Boop Birthday and Year Five stamp sets.

The sentiments are all from Jaded Blossom.  The one on the front is from So Many Birthdays.

Both sentiments on the inside are from the Go Wild set.

I added a little coloring to the "go wild" sentiment.

Mermaid

The card base is a step card made using a cut file from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Center Step Edged Curved Card Base.  I cut the white circle with one of the Stitched Circle Dies from Jaded Blossom.  I then cut the grey layer with a Spellbinders die called Picot Edge Circles.  The waves are from the "ZooBalloo" Cricut cartridge.  I used some diamond Stickles on the white caps of the waves.  I used some blue, grey, and white sequins to finish off the card.

The mermaid and sentiment on the circle are from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  I colored the image with Distress Ink markers by Tim Holtz.  I then added some Wink of Stella to the blue of her hair and her tail.  I also used some glossy accents on her eyes.

The seashell is from the "Sea Shells" digital cartridge.  The sea weed is from the "Splish Splash" cartridge.

The sentiment on the side part of the step card is also from Jaded Blossom.  The "happy birthday" part is from the So Many Birthdays 2 stamp set and the "from under the sea" is from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set.

I made this for the following challenges:
Color Throwdown: color challenge
Die Cuttin' Divas: water safety or blue
Cute Card Thursday: more than one fold

Christmas Gift Tags

I decided to just make one post of the rest of the tags I created for Christmas gifts.

This tag was made using Jaded Blossom products.

The tag is made from the Luggage Tag Dies set.  The lights, both small (which are heat embossed) and the larger ones are from Watts Up stamp set, as is the sentiments.  The banner on which the sentiment is stamped (and heat embossed) is from My Craft Spot.  I used the Erkle and Merkle Face Assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps for the face.

This tag was made using cut files from the Silhouette Store.

The tag is one of the four in a set called "tags" by Michelle Renee (#43062).  The cardinal is also by Michelle Renee and called "Christmas cardinal" (#51610).  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the Season's Tweetings set.  The "to" and "from" are from a stamp set by My Craft Spot.

I used an svg from KaDoodle Bug Designs and a tag shape from Cricut for this tag.

The tag is from the "ZooBalloo" cartridge and the horse is a file called Cutie KaToodles - Horse.  The holly is also from the Cricut, the "Winter Wonderland" cartridge.  The present is from the "Tis the Season" cartridge by Creative Memories.  All the stamps are from My Craft Spot.

Tree

My husband needed a sympathy card for a co-worker.  Since he is really not much help in deciding what he would like, I used the current challenge at BBTB2, which is summer trees, to inspire me to create something for him.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of dark brown card stock.  I cut an olive green mat at 5 3/8"x4 1/8" and a brown polka dot mat at 5 1/4"x4."  The polka dot mat is embossed with the Cuttlebug embossing folder Birds and Swirls.

The tree is from the "ZooBalloo" cartridge.  The tree is actually just an outline, so I cut it three times, each time hiding contours to get the color to show through where I wanted.

The banner and sentiment are both from My Craft Spot.

Sea Life Wall Art

I mentioned in my post yesterday, that I had been in Washington visiting my friends and their 9 month old baby.  I made a name sign for their son a while back, you can see that here, and gave it to them while we were visiting.  My husband hung the signs up and I decorated the wall next to it with some vinyl cut in sea life inspired shapes.

The name sign was made with "Extreme Fonts" and "Art Nouveau."  For more information, see the original post, here.

Here is a better look at the sea life wall.

The sea weed is from "Life is a Beach."
The fish is from "Four Legged Friends."  I just eliminated a couple of layers and flipped it.
The bubbles are from "A Child's Year."  I flipped them to work with the fish.

The sea weed is from "Word Builders 3: An Ocean of Words."
The fish and bubbles are from "This & That."  This is a Creative Memories cartridge.

The octopus is from "ZooBalloo."
The bubbles on the right are from "A Child's Year."  Like bubbles with the fish, they are flipped.
The bubbles on the left are from "Kate's ABCs."  They are just two of the bubbles in the bubble bath word title.

Hip-Hippo Hooray!

How cute is this hippo though?!  I love how it turned out!

The card is about 8 1/2"x4 3/4" (just a little bit smaller).  I used Cricut Craft Room to design this using "Wild Card" for the shaped base, "ZooBalloo" for the hippo, "George and Basic Shapes" for the stars, and "Just a Note" for the sentiment.

The card base, is on page 53 of the "Wild Card" handbook.  I cut it from the light purple card stock, then cut a piece of white card stock at 8"x3" to put behind the open space of the word bubble.  I rounded the corners of the white piece and embossed it with the a Darice Embossing folder called Assorted Stars.

The stars are all from "George and Basic Shapes," page 115 of the handbook.  The three largest are 2," 1 1/2," & 1 1/4."  The smallest one is 3/8," sized that way so that it would fit in the letter "a" of the sentiment.  The sentiment can be found on page 58 of the "Just a Note" handbook.  It was cut at 2."

The stars and sentiment were adhered right to the card base.  Since I adhered everything down before remembering that I wanted to stamp a sentiment around the edge I masked off the stars, then did my stamping.  The stamp is from Scrappy Moms Stamps, the Furry Friends set.

The hippo is on page 89 of the "ZooBalloo" handbook.  It was cut at 3 1/2."  I used the hide contour feature in Cricut Craft Room to hide the eyes and stamped on some Peachy Keen ones.  They are from the Sweet and Silly Face Assortment.  I used a white gel pen to accent the eyes and grey gel pen to add a little detail to the hippo's chin.  I adhered the hippo with foam tape.  I used yellow Stickles on the edges of the stars (and the whole star for the smallest one) and covered the hippo's eyes and nostrils with diamond glaze.

I made this for the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut: use the colors purple, yellow, & grey
My Sheri Crafts: use at least two stars
My Craft Spot: shaped cards

Welcome Baby

Today's card is a fun baby card, with a twist!

The card is a 5"x5" twisted easel card.  I used black card stock to construct the card base.  I cut blue mats at 4 7/8"x4 7/8," and polka dot mats at 4 3/4"x4 3/4."  I used the "ZooBalloo" Cricut cartridge to cut the waves.  These are found on page 131 of the handbook.  The smallest set of waves was cut at 3/4" and two sets were welded together, then trimmed to fit the card.  The second set was cut at 5" wide, to fit the card.  That made them just over 1" tall.  The third set was cut at 1 1/2" and the final set was cut at 2."  All the waves were inked around the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  I adhered the first three sets of waves together, then used foam tape to pop them up in the middle, while adhering the edges to the card.  The final layer was adhered to the card.

The whale was cut from the "Tiny Treasures" Cricut cartridge.  It is on page 38 of the handbook.  The whale was cut at 3."  I added some waterfall Stickles to the spurt of water and black enamel to his eye.  I finished off the front of the card with some cloudy blue gems in the top corners.

The blue and polka dot mats are the same for the inside as the outside.  I then cut another piece of blue card stock at 4"x4" and some white card stock at 3 7/8"x3 7/8."  I used a stamp from the "Big Sentiments 2" stamp set by My Craft Spot for the sentiment.  I then finished off the card with my "stopper," which is a large cloudy blue gem.

I made this for the following challenges:

My Craft Spot: black, white, & one other color

Elephant

Here is a simple birthday card that would be great for a little girl. The card is 5"x5" and made from white cardstock. The brown layer is 4 7/8"x4 7/8." The teal layer is 4 1/2"x4 1/2" and the polka dotted pink layer is 4 3/8"x4 3/8." The teal squares are 2"x2" and embossed with the Seeing Spots embossing folder. I used ZooBalloo for the elephant. It is cut at 3 1/2" and I used pop-dots to adhere it to the card. I used some acrylic flowers by Martha Stewart on her head. I finished off the card with the sentiment, which is matted with some glittery teal cardstock. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.
I made this for the following challenges:

Pioneer Park

It has been a while since I have participated in a Cooking With Cricut challenge, but I am so glad to be back. I have been so busy lately. I just started school again, so I have all kinds of homework and that fun stuff. Their challege this week is "Family Fun," so I created a double layout with some pictures of my mom's trip to visit my husband and me in Alaska.

It is a 12"x12" double layout. All the paper I used is from K&Company. The photos are all various sizes. The three on the bottom of the left page are 3 1/2"x5." I matted them all on one piece of dark blue paper. The title is from ZooBalloo, cut at 1 1/4." I matted them on strips of dark blue paper as well. I then used a dark blue marker to add some doodling. The hiking guy is from Going Places, cut at 3 1/2," and I cut off the walking stick. The jumbled "discover" word is from Graphically Speaking, cut at 2 1/2" and covered with weathered wood Distress Stickles. The two fish are from Nifty Fifties, the larger one is cut at 4 1/2" and the smaller one is cut at 3 1/2." I covered the smaller one in baby blue Stickles and pop-dotted the larger one. I also added a long space for journalling.
