How "Seal"-y

I made a cute little birthday card today.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4."  I cut some dark blue plaid card stock at 5 1/4"x4," then some light blue plaid card stock at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  The blue polka dot print is 5 1/8"x1 1/2."  The scalloped border is from the "Ribbons & Rosettes" Cricut cartridge.  I cut it at 5 1/4" long.

The seal is from SVG Cutting Files.  It is called Baby Seal and I cut it at 3 3/4" tall.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the Party Animal set.  I just did some careful masking to make it into four lines instead of two.

Elegant Edges - Creation #7

I made a Christmas banner for my most recent creation using "Elegant Edges."

The base of my banner is from "Elegant Edges."  I used the image on page 69, both the oblong and shift-shadow feature.  I cut it at 5."  I used "Ribbons & Rosettes" for the rosettes, it is on page 66.  They were cut at 1 1/2" and I cut six parts for each rosette.  The letters are from "Storybook."  They were cut with both the shadow and regular features, using the same card stock for both layers, and they were cut at 2."  Finally, I used the digital cartridge "3-D Bows" for the bows at the top.  This is the first bow and just a single layer.  The bows were cut at a 4" length.  To hang the banner I ran some ivory colored ribbon through some holes I punched on each side of the banner pieces.  All the papers are from the Christmas Memories Stack by DCWV.

Rosette Wreath

I have been trying to figure out something new to display at work.  My last display was for St. Patrick's Day and it came down on the 18th of March.  So, I have been needing something else to put up.  I knew I wanted to put up something that felt springy or summery, but other than that I had no inspiration.  Well, I finally came up with this wreath:

I used Ribbons and Rosettes and cut out 12 rosettes of varying sizes and shapes.  I used patterened paper from the Flower Shower Stack by DCWV for all my rosettes.  I put them all together and adhred the rosettes to a ring I had cut out of cardstock to act as my wreath form.  I then used Tablescapes: Spring and Summer to cut out the butterflies and flowers.  I then added some buttons and pearls to finish it off.

American Pride

I decided to make a layout using a picture that was taken of my husband and me at the airport when he got home from Kuwait. I actually got to meet him at the gate, which was so great! He was the first one off the plane, which surpised those of us waiting for him. I noticed him first, jumped up and ran to hug him. This picture was taken seconds after that. However, due to my continuing computer problems the picture was printed on the printer we have attached to our desktop and is not meant for photos. My photo printer is in my craft room and I use it with my laptop, which is still out of commission. So, the photo is not the greatest due to the printer, but when I get my computer figured out I will print out a better copy. The photo in there now at least gives you an idea of what I wanted to do with this layout. I adhered it with removable adhesive so that I can take it out when I get the better picture printed.
This layout was made following the current sketch at Stuck On U Sketches. As soon as I saw the sketch I started getting ideas about what I wanted to do with it! :) I am pleased with how it all turned out. It is a 12"x12" layout, that I am actually going to put in a shadowbox and hang on my wall. I used Elegant Edges to create the label in the background. The shimmery blue layer was cut using the shadow feature at 10." The white layer was also cut using the shadow feature, but at 9 1/2." The glittery red layer was cut regularly at 9 1/2." I then placed it where I wanted it on the left hand side of the page and trimmed it along the edge of the page. The smaller, trimmed-off piece was placed on the right hand side of the page. The photo is 4"x6" and I matted it with three layers that are all 1/4" larger than the previous layer. I used Ribbons and Rosettes to create my three rosettes. The two smaller ones were cut at 1 1/2" and the larger one was cut at 2." The title was cut using Stand and Salute, as were all three stars that are in the center of the rosettes. I added faded jeans Stickles to the title and all the blue pieces on my project (except the title) were inked with faded jeans Distress Ink. I used three layers of pop-dots to raise up my blue rosette and one layer of pop-dots for the smaller striped rosette. I cut a tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More, using my Gypsy to size it to fit the stamp, from some white cardstock and cut one that was 1/4" larger from blue cardstock. I then used some pearlescent poppy ink by Tsukineko to stamp my sentiment, which is from Scrappy Moms Stamps. My shimmery blue paper is from DCWV, the glittery red paper is from Core'dinations, the white paper is from The Paper Company and all the patterned papers are from Paper Pizzazz.

Valentine's Wall Hanging

I have a small piece of wall space between my front door and the window next to it. I like having something hanging there and have for fall and winter. I haven't liked anything for Valentine's Day, so I decided to make my own decor.

I used Ribbons & Rosettes for the rosettes. The pieces were cut at 2," so the rosettes are about 4" tall. I used two different shades of pink to create my rosette. Once those were all assembled I cut the scalloped circle from Lacy Labels at 2 1/4." I used white for that piece and the inner ring is the same darker pink I used on the rosettes. I used Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art for the letters. I cut them at 1 3/4" and use a glittery dark pink cardstock. The heart at the bottom is cut from Cricut American Alphabet, one of the pre-loaded cartridges that came with the E2. It is cut at 2." I used some magenta Stickles on the swirl and star dust Stickles for the white shadow layer. I covered the light pink part of the heart with glossy accents and finished it off with some pink bling. The angel is a Peachy Keen Stamp. I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils, then cut her out. I gave her a little piece of bling for her hair, and used some yellow Stickles on her halo and star dust Stickles on her wings. The cloud is cut using Graphically Speaking, at 2" (real dial size), and I covered it with a cotton ball that I tore apart. I attached all the rosettes to a piece of ribbon, which I looped at the top so that I could hang it on my wall. I have close-up picutres of each individual rosette below.

365 Cards Guest Designer

I was asked to be a guest designer for the month of January at 365 Cards. Of course I accepted. This means that on Sundays, when they do their Super Sketchy Sunday challenge I will be participating as a Guest Designer. This is my first week, I will be participating in two more, and this is the sketch. Here is the card I made following the sketch.
This card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used a shimmery pink cardstock for the base. I cut a piece of glittery pinkish-purple cardstock at 4 1/4"x3 1/4." I rounded the corners on the tops of the card and the glittery pinkish-purple rectangle. I wrapped the card with some pink organdy ribbon. I cut the striped pink cardstock using Ribbons & Rosettes. It is one of the border features on the cartridge. I cut it at 4 1/4" using the cut to length feature, this makes it about 2 3/4" tall. I also cut the heart using Ribbons & Rosettes. It is cut at 1 3/4." I used pop-dots to adhere it to the card and covered it with glossy accents. My sentiment is stamped in pearlescent puple ink, by Tsukineko, using a Scrappy Moms Stamp. I stamped it on pink paper, matted it with the glittery pinkish-purple cardstock and also rounded the top corners.
