Bookmark

Today I made a bookmark.

The bookmark is actually a tag from the "Mickey & Friends" cartridge.  I turned off the aspect ratio and cut it at 6"x2 3/4."  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I used the Catch the Reading Bug set for it.

The girl is from SVG Cutting Files.  She is called Chibi Girl Reading, I sized her to fit in the opening of the bookmark, which is a 2" width.  I used the print then cut feature of the Cricut Explore to print her out, then cut her.  I did this to eliminate a lot of layers so that the bookmark wouldn't be too thick.  I hid her face before doing anything, and after she was cut I used a face stamp from Peachy Keen Stamps.  This one is from the Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment.

Penguin Gift Box

Part of the Christmas present for my father and his wife is a gift card to one of their favorite restaurants.  Today I made a box in which to put that gift card.

The box is from a set called Winter Paver Favor Boxes & Cards by My Scrap Chick.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out.  Once it is all assembled it stands about 5 1/4" tall, by 3 3/4" wide, and 1 3/4" thick.  I did alter its size a little, so that at its widest point the box perfectly fits a gift card.

Before putting the white part of the penguin on the top of the box I wrapped it with some red and white twine.  I also made sure the run the twine through the hole of my tag.  The tag is from the "Mickey and Friends" Cricut cartridge.  It can be found on page 116 of the handbook, the icon feature.  I cut it at 1 1/4."  I cut the white layer twice, once for the front and once for the back.  I used stamps from My Craft Spot for the sentiments.  Both of them are from the Tiny Tags Christmas set.

I embellished the penguin with some little buttons that I made using the "Cricut Essentials" cartridge.  They can be found on page 42 of the handbook, using the shift function.  I cut each one three times, at 1/2," to make them nice and thick.  I inked around the edge of everything (buttons, beak, feet, bow tie) with tea dye Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

I decided not to use the eyes that come with the box.  Instead I stamped some eyes using Peachy Keen stamps.  The eyes are from the Erkle & Merkle Face Assortment.

I made this for the following challenges:
Cardz TV: 3D Challenge - create a gift card holder
My Craft Spot: 3D Christmas
Fantabulous Cricut: use three embellishments (buttons)
Tuesday Throwdown: Christmas tags

And just like all the others, I used "Mickey Font" for the mouse ears and "Mickey and Friends" for the names and characters.  The mouse ears are cut at 5."  The name Donald is cut at 1" and the name Daisy is cut at  1 1/4."  The larger characters on both centerpieces are cut at 5" and the smaller of them are cut at 3."

Mickey Cartridges - Creation #6

Finally, another centerpiece made.  This one is featuring Pluto!

I used the same sort of idea that I did for my Mickey centerpiece and will be using for my remaining ones as well.

The mouse ears are from "Mickey Font" and cut at 5."  The name is from "Mickey and Friends" and is cut at 1 1/4."  I placed the name on a white strip cut at 1 1/2" and trimmed to fit the ears.

The smallest Pluto was cut at 3" and the other two at 5."  They are all from "Mickey and Friends."  I adhered them all to lollipop sticks and stuck them in my mason jar.

Mickey Cartridges - Creation #5

I have finished the first of the individual character centerpieces.  This is the one of Mickey Mouse.

I used "Mickey Font" for the mouse ears, they were cut at 5."  I used "Mickey and Friends" for all the other pieces.  The name is cut at 1 1/4."  I used Cricut Craft Room to hide the word mouse in the name and then sized it to fit into the mouse ears.  I cut a white strip of cardstock to put the name on, then trimmed it to fit the mouse ears.

The two larger Mickey characters were cut at 5" and the smaller one was cut at 3."  The two larger Mickeys can be found on pages 80 and 81 in the handbook.  The smaller Mickey is on page 108.

I am entering this in the current Stuck On U Sketches die cut challenge, "Disney".

Mickey Cartridges - Creation #2

I am still working on all the decorations for my cousin's daughter's birthday, but I finished the thank you cards.  I only needed to make 16 of these, so it was a little quicker than the invites, although more detailed.

I only used the "Mickey and Friends" cartridge for this one.  I cut Minnie at 5."

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and the card base is a pre-made card from David Tutera.  I picked up a couple 12-packs of them when they went on clearance at JoAnn's.  The black mat is 5 1/4"x4" and the pink polka dot mat is 5"x3 3/4."

The sentiment on the front is from Paper Smooches.
