BaDonkey Donk

I managed to fit in some more crafting time today!  So I made this super fun card:

The card base and donkey image are from SVG Cutting Files.  The card base is called Trapezoid Card Base.  It is about 4 3/8"x5 3/4" when folded.

The donkey is called BaDonkey Donk.  I sized the donkey to fit the card, which makes him about 4 3/4" tall.  I covered his hooves, eyes, and mouth with glossy accents.  I used the "Celebrations" Cricut cartridge to create the party hat.  I sized it so that it would fit on the donkey's head.  I added some yellow Stickles to the pom-pom on the hat.  The balloons are also sized to fit.  They are from the "Just a Note" Cricut cartridge (which came already linked to my previous Cricut Expression).

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom.  It is on the Party Animal stamp set.  I finished off the front of the card with some pink, orange, and green sequins.

Chocolate Cake

This is a 5"x5" card. I used white cardstock for the base. I cut some brown cardstock at 4 3/4"x4 3/4" and then embossed it with one of the Once Upon a Princess companion folders & my Cuttlebug. I used the debossed side to actually display. I cut the cake out four times at 4 1/2." Once in white, using the shadow feature and three times in brown. I then cut the stand in a shimmery white cardstock. I adhered the shadow feature to the card base, then one of the brown cakes to the shadow. I then adhered the cake stand on. I cut off the cake stand on the other two cakes and embossed one with the D'vine Swirls folder. I then used pop-dots to adhere each cake on top of the previous one. I then used cinnamon Stickles on the swirls of my embossed cake for some glitz. I finished it off with some brown gems on the cake stand. Enjoy!I made this card for the following challenges:

  • 365 Cards: "Day 92" - be inspired by favorite ice cream flavor (mine is chocolate marshmallow)

  • BBTB2: Celebrations - cake cut

Card Creations & More Challenge #1

I'm so excited to be on the design team for Card Creations & More By C. She will be hosting challenges every other Saturday, and this is her first one. I hope you will join us for the challenges. This week's challenge is to make anything other than a card. I chose to make a layout.
The layout is 12"x12" and the background paper is DCWV, their Doodling Around Stack. I used red and blue cardstock to creat the mats for photos, they will accomodate 4"x6" photos. The llama and squirrel are both from Birthday Bash and the title is from Celebrations. The llama is cut at 6" and flocked. The squirrel is cut at 5" and also flocked. I added Stickles, glossy accents and some flat-backed pearls for more detail. The squirrel is also pop-dotted for some dimension.

Welcome Baby

I have been pretty much making cards lately, so making a gift bag was a fun little departure for me. :) The gift bag was made for the Flaunt it Fridays challenge, which was to use the turtle from Create a Critter, and to make something other than a card. That part was a challenge, not a requirement. I made it a baby gift bag for the challenge at Sentimental Sundays, which is "baby."
I used a bag that I already had on hand and just dressed it up. The turtle is from Create a Critter and cut at 2 1/4." For the grass I
just cut some Core'dinations cardstock to fit the size of the bag and tore the top. I cut the presents from Celebrations, using some cardstock from the Citrus stack by DCWV. I used some lime green Stickles for the bow/ribbon on the presents. I used pop-dots of different widths for the bottom two presents and
the top one is adhered to the bag directly. The "welcome" part of the sentiment is from ZooBalloo, cut at 1 1/2," and the "baby" is from Makin' the Grade, cut at 1," and adhered vertically. I finished it off by adding google eyes to the little turtle. Enjoy!

Monkey Around

The challenge this week over at Paper Cutz is to create something using an image of a monkey, skunk, squirrel or hedgehog. I decided to go with a monkey and create this cute little birthday card. I used New Arrival for the monkey and added some google eyes on him. I also pop-dotted him onto the card. The vines are from Storybook. The "it's your day" sentiment is from Celebrations. I used my Gypsy to weld the letters of the inside sentiment, "so monkey around" which is the George and Basic Shapes font. The bananas are from Animal Kingdom. They took some work figuring out what size I wanted, but when I got it I cut them out twice, once in the dark yellow and once in the lighter yellow. I then cut the peel to fit the banana. I really like this card, I almost don't want to give it away, but I can't wait to see the face of whoever recieves it. Enjoy!

Dinosaur Stair Step Card

Bitten by the Bug 2 this week challenged everyone to create a project using the dinosaur cut from Paper Doll Dress Up. I decided to finally try making a stair step card. I thought it would be the perfect way to play with a couple of the dinosaurs from this cartridge. This is my first attempt at this type of card, but I like how it turned out. I used Paper Doll Dress Up for the dinosaurs (naturally) and also for all the plants, grass, and mountains. I used Celebrations for the sentiment and the birthday hat. I embellished the cuts with pens, inks, markers, Stickles and some pearls.

Black & White Birthday Card

Here is a couple of matching cards I made this morning. They are for the Jitterbuggin' challenge, which was the sketch, to use black and white with one accent color, to use a punch and of course to use Cricut somewhere in it. I was struggling with a theme to use when I saw the Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time. It was to make a birthday card using Celebrations. I combined the two and came up with these great cards. I used George and Basic Shapes for the
circle and the squares. I used Celebrations for the balloons, cake and stand, and the word celebrate. I then used three scalloped circle punches for my accent.

Eat More Cake

I made this cute little birthday card for a couple of challenges. One was the Cuttlebug Spot, where the challenge was to follow the sketch. The other was the Alphabet Challenge Blog where the challenge was "K is for Kids," make a project for a child or with a child theme. I used this cute digi stamp from Sliekje's digi Stamps. She has so many cute images, check them out. I colored it in using my Prismacolor pencils. I layered him on blue cardstocks, the base one was glittered, not sure if you can tell in the picture. I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the dark blue layer. I used my Gypsy to weld together banners from Celebrations and the hide contour feature to hide the cut-out in the banner. I then cut out two different size circles from George and Basic Shapes. I stamped it and used pop-dots to pop it up on the card. On the inside I stamped it with a set of stamps I had, I believe they are Fiskars. I just loved this sentiment and thought it went well with the image.
