Alpaca My Scarf

I love the Winter Alpaca stamp set from Lawn Fawn and just had to use it in the current Lawnscaping Challenge, which is clean and simple.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of light grey card stock.  I used the Card Mat Dies from Jaded Blossom to cut a piece of white card stock for a mat.  I used stamps from the Fresh Snow stamp set by Paper Smooches for most of the snowflakes on my mat.  The smallest snowflake is from the Winter Alpaca stamp set.  I stamped them all with embossing ink, then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  After the snowflakes were heat embossed I then used pumice stone and tumbled glass Distress Ink to cover the mat and make a snowy, wintry sky.

The snowy hillside was cut using one of the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn.  I used star dust Stickles on the edge of the hill for shimmer.

I colored the alpaca with Prismacolor colored pencils and I adhered it with foam tape for dimension.  I also added a touch of Wink of Stella to the alpaca's cheek for shimmer.

The sentiment is from the same Winter Alpaca stamp set.  I curved it to follow the hillside.  It is stamped in pumice stone Distress Ink.

Christmas Window

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of purple card stock.  I used Cricut Design Space to slice the images of a rectangle (5 1/4"x4") and the window to create a negative space in the shape of the window, then cut that using turquoise card stock. I embossed that piece with the Ornamental Iron Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The tree is a rubber stamp that I had in my stash.  I stamped it with embossing ink, then covered it with gold embossing powder.  I cut it out using the Brother Scan 'n' Cut 2.  I then added some purple Stickles to the branches of the tree.  The hillside was cut using the Stitched Hillside Borders die by Lawn Fawn.  I then covered it in Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.

I cut a blacked out shadow of the window in white, the embossed it with the Snowflake Swirl embossing folder by Darice.  I used a piece of acetate to make the window look more realistic.  The turquoise shadow, white window pane, and the acetate are adhered to the turquoise background, then adhered to the card with foam tape for dimension.  I added a touch of turquoise glitter around the edges of the window for sparkle.

The sentiment and the banner are both from My Craft Spot.  The sentiment was stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I adhered the middle of the banner with two layers of foam tape and adhered the ends with glue dots.

I cut a turquoise mat at 5 1/4"x4" and a white mat at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  I stamped the swirls in embossing ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.  The sentiment was stamped in grape jelly ink by Tsukineko.  Both the swirls and the sentiment were from My Craft Spot.

I made this card for the current challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  It is to use three elements from the photo on your card.
I was inspired by the turquoise and purple color palette, the gold accents, and the window.

Make a Wish

Here is a fun, whimsical birthday card for you today:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of purple card stock.  The silver mat is cut from gilded silver card stock, using the Card Mat Dies by Jaded Blossom.  The scallop oval and regular oval are both from Jaded Blossom as well, the Scallop Oval Dies and Stitched Oval Dies respectively.  The black star patterned card stock is from the Stardust Stack by DCWV.

The images and sentiment are all from Lawn Fawn, the Critters Ever After stamp set.  I also used the coordinating dies to cut out the unicorn and castle.  I used silver Stickles on the unicorn's horn and hooves.  I also added a little Wink of Stella on the mane and tail for more added sparkle.

I adhered the unicorn with foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the sentiment, also from the Critters Ever After stamp set, with white ink and heat embossed it with glittery white embossing powder.

The notched banner in the background is made using one of the dies by My Craft Spot.  I also used the Scenic Die from Jaded Blossom for the stars in the corners.  I added a little Wink of Stella to them as well.

The patterned star mat is cut at 5 1/4"x4."  The purple mat is 4 1/4"x3" and the white mat is 4 1/8"x2 7/8."  I used another stamp from Critters Ever After, then a stamp from So Many Birthdays by Jaded Blossom.

I made this for the current challenge at Lawnscaping Challenges.  It is a color scheme: black, purple, and color of your choice (I went with grey/silver)

Happy Birthday Mate!

Here is a fun birthday card for you today:

The card base is from "Creative Holiday Cards."  I used patterned card stock for the base and background from the Sky's the Limit Stack by DCWV.  The grass is from "ZooBalloo."  I colored all my images with Chameleon Color Tones markers.

The image stamps are all from Lawn Fawn.  The tree, kookaburra, and platypus are all from the Critters Down Under set.  I cut them all out with the coordinating dies.  The party hat on the platypus is from the Lovable Legends set.  The presents are from the Beep Boop Birthday and Year Five stamp sets.

The sentiments are all from Jaded Blossom.  The one on the front is from So Many Birthdays.

Both sentiments on the inside are from the Go Wild set.

I added a little coloring to the "go wild" sentiment.

Dragon

Wow, it has been a long time since I have been able to craft.  I have been up in Duluth, MN for the last month.  I was asked to help set up a new JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts store in that location.  It was full of long days, stress, and of course a lot of fun.  The grand opening was a fantastic success, but I am glad to be back home.  I missed my bed and I really missed my craft room.  So, here is what I created as my first project in a month.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of light grey card stock.  I used a dark grey card stock for the mat, which I cut using one of the Card Mat Dies from Jaded Blossom.

The green and aqua panels are also cut from the Card Mat Dies.  I used the Stitched Circle Dies from Jaded Blossom for the light grey circle.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's So Many Birthdays stamp set.

The dragon is from the Critters Ever After stamp set by Lawn Fawn.  I used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I colored it with some Distress markers by Tim Holtz.  I then added some firefly Stickles to the ridges on the back of the dragon, glossy accents to its belly, and Wink of Stella to its horns and wing.

I used foam tape to pop up the dragon.  I then added some glittery washi tape behind the dragon.  I finished off the card with some aqua gems.

I made this for the following challenges:
Color Throwdown: color combo
City Crafter Challenge Blog: something that doesn't exist
Cute Card Thursday: recipe - 3 brads/gems, 2 papers, 1 ribbon/washi
Pile It On: sparkle
Seize the Birthday: anything goes

I Love You S'more

I made this piece of wall art that I intend to give to my husband.  Both his birthday and our anniversary are coming up, I just have decide which occasion for which to use it.

The bears and the fire are from KaDoodle Bug Designs.  They are part of the S'more Love cut set.  I cut the bear twice, one of them is flipped.  I then cut the bow off the flipped one, so that it would be a boy bear.  I used card stock from The Paper Studio, the Great Outdoors stack for the background.

I inked up pretty much every piece of card stock I cut with Distress Ink.  I used vintage photo on the boy bear and tea dye on the girl bear.  The fire is inked with rusty hinge and bow with aged mahogany.  I also inked the marshmallows with antique linen and a little bit of tea dye.  The stools are inked with walnut stain.

The sentiment, hearts, and smoke wisps are from Lawn Fawn, the Love You S'more stamp set.  The hearts are stamped with festive berries Distress Ink and the wisps are stamped with weathered wood Distress Ink.

What's Kraken?

I just recently got this Lawn Fawn stamp set, called Lovable Legends, and just had to play with it.  I will admit that while it is cute all around, I basically got it for the kraken image and sentiment.  Isn't it awesome?

The card is 5 1/2"x 4 1/4."  I cut a piece of white card stock at 4 1/2"x3" and then used two Distress Inks to color the background: tumbled glass and peacock feathers.  I matted it with dark teal card stock, cut 1/8" wider.  The kraken, sentiment, waves, water spots, and boats are from the Lovable Legends stamp set.  I colored the kraken and boat, then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I then added some white gel pen detail to the kraken.
