Peaceful Winter Woods

This card features a lovely winter scene.

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  I covered a piece of watercolor paper with three shades of Distress Ink: tumbled glass, salty ocean, and chipped sapphire.  I then splattered some water over the top of the inks.  I was hoping it made it seem like it was snowing, kind of how you might see it at a distance.

The trees are from the Scenic Dies from Jaded Blossom.  I cut them twice from white card stock, then trimmed them to fit the panel.

The sentiment and the banner are both from My Craft Spot.  I covered the banner with Wink of Stella for some shimmer.

The deer is from the Holiday Designer Tapes stamp set, also by Jaded Blossom.  I heat embossed it with black embossing powder.

Christmas Window

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of purple card stock.  I used Cricut Design Space to slice the images of a rectangle (5 1/4"x4") and the window to create a negative space in the shape of the window, then cut that using turquoise card stock. I embossed that piece with the Ornamental Iron Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The tree is a rubber stamp that I had in my stash.  I stamped it with embossing ink, then covered it with gold embossing powder.  I cut it out using the Brother Scan 'n' Cut 2.  I then added some purple Stickles to the branches of the tree.  The hillside was cut using the Stitched Hillside Borders die by Lawn Fawn.  I then covered it in Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.

I cut a blacked out shadow of the window in white, the embossed it with the Snowflake Swirl embossing folder by Darice.  I used a piece of acetate to make the window look more realistic.  The turquoise shadow, white window pane, and the acetate are adhered to the turquoise background, then adhered to the card with foam tape for dimension.  I added a touch of turquoise glitter around the edges of the window for sparkle.

The sentiment and the banner are both from My Craft Spot.  The sentiment was stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I adhered the middle of the banner with two layers of foam tape and adhered the ends with glue dots.

I cut a turquoise mat at 5 1/4"x4" and a white mat at 5 1/8"x3 7/8."  I stamped the swirls in embossing ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.  The sentiment was stamped in grape jelly ink by Tsukineko.  Both the swirls and the sentiment were from My Craft Spot.

I made this card for the current challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  It is to use three elements from the photo on your card.
I was inspired by the turquoise and purple color palette, the gold accents, and the window.

Make a Wish

Here is a fun, whimsical birthday card for you today:

The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of purple card stock.  The silver mat is cut from gilded silver card stock, using the Card Mat Dies by Jaded Blossom.  The scallop oval and regular oval are both from Jaded Blossom as well, the Scallop Oval Dies and Stitched Oval Dies respectively.  The black star patterned card stock is from the Stardust Stack by DCWV.

The images and sentiment are all from Lawn Fawn, the Critters Ever After stamp set.  I also used the coordinating dies to cut out the unicorn and castle.  I used silver Stickles on the unicorn's horn and hooves.  I also added a little Wink of Stella on the mane and tail for more added sparkle.

I adhered the unicorn with foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the sentiment, also from the Critters Ever After stamp set, with white ink and heat embossed it with glittery white embossing powder.

The notched banner in the background is made using one of the dies by My Craft Spot.  I also used the Scenic Die from Jaded Blossom for the stars in the corners.  I added a little Wink of Stella to them as well.

The patterned star mat is cut at 5 1/4"x4."  The purple mat is 4 1/4"x3" and the white mat is 4 1/8"x2 7/8."  I used another stamp from Critters Ever After, then a stamp from So Many Birthdays by Jaded Blossom.

I made this for the current challenge at Lawnscaping Challenges.  It is a color scheme: black, purple, and color of your choice (I went with grey/silver)

Beautiful Butterfly

I actually made this for my mother for Mother's Day.  I didn't post it when I made it so that my mother wouldn't see it.  However, I subsequently forgot to post it.  So, here it is (finally):

The butterflies are from Jaded Blossom, the Butterflies stamp set.  The sentiment on the front of the card is from My Craft Spot.  The interior sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the white mat on the front of the card.

Snowboarder

My best friend, who currently lives in Washington, is visiting Minnesota for week right now.  I am going up to Duluth tomorrow to see her and her family.  Well, tomorrow night they are celebrating her niece's birthday and my husband and I were invited.  I used to baby sit her every once in a while, so I thought I would make her a birthday card.  She is really into snowboarding, and is very, very good at it, so I made a card featuring a snowboarder that moves!

The card base is from SVG Cutting Files, it is one of the Penny Card Slide Bases.  I cut a piece of white card stock using a die from the Border Dies 2 set by Jaded Blossom for my snow.  I then trimmed it to fit the card base.  I spiced it up with some white sequins.

The snowboarder is attached to a penny, which is attached to another penny on the other side of the background so that the image can be moved around the card.  These card bases from SVG Cutting Files make it so easy to create some awesome cards!

The snowboarder is from the Cricut cartridge "Dude!"

The sentiment is from a stamp set by My Craft Spot.

I used more goodies from Jaded Blossom to create the inside of my card.  I used Card Mat Dies for the background.  I then used Rectangle Dies 2 for the white mat.  The sentiment is from Supersized Birthday Greetings.

Colorful Cone Collection

I made a collection of eight ice cream cone cards that differ only in their color.

All the cards are 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of white card stock.  The colored mat is 4 5/8"x3 3/8" and the white mat is 4 1/2"x3 1/4."  I embossed the white layer with a Cuttlebug folder called Polka Dot Page.

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom, the Ice Cream Kit stamp set.  I stamped it on a banner cut from a My Craft Spot die.  The image is also from Jaded Blossom, it is called Ice Cream.  I stamped the cone on brown card stock, then used a tea dye Distress Marker by Tim Holtz to add a little detail by tracing the lines.  For the ice cream scoop, I stamped them on different colors of polka dot card stock and used a white gel pen to add some detail.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them at a slight angle over the banner.  I then added sequins of coordinating colors.

The inside has the same sentiment in all of them.  The only difference is the color of the matting, it is the same as on the front of the card.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

I used the current challenge sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch for the layout of my card.

Hugger Cards

Three shaped cards that interlock their arms in a hug to close.

The robot is from the Cricut "Crazy Cute Cards" digital cartridge.  This is only available if you have a Cricut Design Space subscription.

I used glossy accents on the orange on his feet and on his head.  I also used them on his eyes.  I used Stickles on his buttons and a little Wink of Stella on his lightning bolt.

The sentiments are both from the Robotastic stamp set by Jaded Blossom.

This cute little tentacled monster is also from the "Crazy Cute Cards" cartridge.

I used glossy accents on the teeth and on the tentacles, I was going for a slippery slimy look.  I also used crackle accent on the horns and added a googly eye.

The sentiment is created using two different stamps from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

This fuzzy monster is from the "Crazy Cool Cards" cartridge.

I used crackle accents on the horns.  The eye, teeth, and nails are covered in glossy accents.  I also used some Stickles around the edge of the sentiment mat.

The first part of the sentiment "have a monsterously fun" is from My Craft Spot.  "Birthday" is from Jaded Blossom, the So Many Birthdays stamp set.
