Spring Wall Banner

It was time to make another banner for the wall between my front door an window. This time I made one for spring! I didn't initally like how this was looking when I started. I chose the colors based on the inspiration of the patterned papers. They all came from The Spring Stack by DCWV. Once I had all the scalloped circles and letters put together I thought it looked a little dark, but once I added everything else to it I actually loved it!
The scalloped circles were cut at 4" and the inner circles are cut at 3 1/2," both are from Cricut Essentials (pre-loaded on the E2). The letters are cut at 3" from the Songbird cartridge. I used both the shadow and regular feature. I used foam adhesive to attach the letters to the scalloped circles. The sun and clouds are cut from Pooh and Friends, the rainbow is cut from Hello Kitty Greetings, The rain is from Indie Art, and the umbrella is from the Wedding cartridge. I added some Glimmer Mist to the sun, I embossed the cloud on the rainbow with the D'vine Swirls embossing folder, I flocked the clouds and added glossy accents to the rain for some added dimension. I finished off the banner with some pale yellow pearls and tied a bow around a loop of ribbon and attached it to the back of the banner to hang it on the wall.

Too Cute to Spook

Here's a cute little altered frame for you. I got the frame from JoAnns. I covered it with two pieces of patterned cardstock, which are by K&Company. I painted the edges purple and covered the cardstock with ModPodge. I cut Hello Kitty from Hello Kitty Greetings at 4." I covered her in black flocking and used some orange pearls for her paws. I also cut her out of chipboard to give her some stability, since part of the image is off the frame. The frame around the opening was created with Elegant Edges, George and Basic Shapes and my trusty Gypsy. I sized the curved square (from George) on my Gypsy, then sized the frame (from Elegant Edges) a little larger. I then covered it in purple glitter. I also used my Gypsy to create my title. The "too" and "to" are from Simply Sweet and welded together, they are cut at 3/4." The "cute" is cut from Create a Critter, cut at 1 1/2." "Spook" was cut from Happy Hauntings at 2." I also welded "cute" and "spook" together. Once they were on the frame I covered them in black diamond Stickles.

Hello Kitty

This is a triangular tri-fold card. When folded it measures 4" square. When it is opened completely it measures 4"x12." I used a dark blue cardstock for the base of the card. The button patterned paper is Debbie Mumm and I've had it in my stash for a couple of years. I tied it with a ribbon which is also from my stash. The Hello Kitty image is from Hello Kitty Greetings, cut at 3 1/4." I put pop-dots only on half of the image so that the card would still open. I added a button to the bow and x-mas red Stickles to the button and bow and glossy accents to the rain jacket. I finished it off with a couple of buttons to the corners. I made this for the following challenges: 365 Cards: "Fancy Folds" - triangular tri-fold Picture Perfect Creations: riding hood red, not quite navy, so saffron My Sheri: buttons Paper Playtime: weather Cooking with Cricut: "Cash in Your Stash" - use stuff you've had for more than a year (buttons, ribbon, patterned paper) Whimsical Wednesday: "April Showers Bring May Flowers" - use an umbrella, rain boots, flowers or rain drops

Pastel Thank You Set

Here is a pretty little gift card set I made today. The gift cards are 3"x3" and made from a light purple cardstock. I cut a piece of light blue cardstock at 3"x2 1/2." I then punched both sides with an EK Success border punch. The scalloped oval is a Nestibilties die. I framed each oval with flat-backed pearls. I tied a piece of ribbon in a knot and then attached it to the top of the card. In each oval I added an image. The blue flower is from Mother's Day Boquet, cut at 1 1/4." The tulip is from Freshly Picked, cut at 2," and I cut off the root/bulb part of the cut. The rainbow is from Hello Kitty Greetings, cut at 1." The sun is from Going Places, cut at 1 1/4," using the fit to length feature. Finally, the heart is cut from Designer's Calendar, cut at 1 1/4," and I added some dots cut from a hole punch. I stamped the sentiment, which is from Fiskars below each image.

The envelope gift box was made to fit these gift cards. The tutorial can be found here. I modified it to fit 3"x3" cards. I used a light purple cardstock again. I layered it with some light blue and white cardstock. The heart rainbow is from Create a Critter and cut at 1 1/2." I also used the shadow feature on it as well. I added some flat-backed pearls in the bottom corners and finished it off with a ribbon. The ribbon is also the closure for this envelope.

BLOG HOP!!

Hello and welcome to the Flaunt It Friday's Hello Kitty Blog Hop! If you are here from Viviana's blog then you are in the right place. If you just arrived here and would like to start the hop from the beginning, please head on over to Flaunt It Friday's. For this week's challenge, we were asked to flaunt the Hello Kitty with the airplane, which is on page 65 of the manual, of the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge. I decided to make a scrapbook page for my project. I don't have any picture for it yet, but maybe I will after my vacation this summer. ;) The page is 12"x12." I used some Debbie Mumm paper for the background, it is from her Travel Stack. I cut out mats for two 4"x6" photos, one horizontal and one vertical. The pink paper is cut at 4 1/4"x6 1/4" and the purple paper is cut at 4 1/2"x6 1/2." I cut out the Hello Kitty in the airplane at 4," Hello Kitty in the car is cut at 3," the two suitcases are cut at 2" and the title is cut at 2." I pop-dotted the title and used some fruit punch Stickles on Hello Kitty's bow on both the images. The square for journaling is 3"x3" and the mats are cut at 3 1/4"x3 1/4" and 3 1/2"x3 1/2."

For our second project we got to pick which cut we were going to use. I chose Hello Kitty with the heart balloon, which is on page 50 of the manual. For this project I altered a plain wooden frame that I had on hand. The frame is from Michael's and I found it in the wood crafts section. I painted the frame white, it took about three coats to get it to my liking. I cut Hello Kitty at 6." I adhered her to the right side of the frame using Mod Podge. I used some ruby slipper Stickles on her balloon. The sentiment is actually glittery alphabet stickers that I found in my stash. I don't remember the brand, or even where I got them, anymore.

This is the first blog hop I have ever participated in and I am really excited about it. I hope everyone hopping along has a great time and gets some wonderful inspiration from our fab design team! Now, blog candy is optional on this blog hop, but I thought I would offer some this time around. I can't guarentee I will everytime we have a hop, but I want to celebrate a few things with this one: my first blog hop, the New Year, my birthday (it was a week ago) & the fact that I got over 100 followers (I did that earlier this month). So for my blog candy I will be giving away the retired Cricut cartridge: Mini Monograms!! Since we have so many stops on this blog hop we are going to run it all weekend long and I will pick a winner on Monday, January 10th. All you have to do to win is leave a comment!

There will be a grand prize giveaway as well! The grand prize will be the Love Always stamp set, sponsored by Pink by Design. In order to be eligable to win this prize you must comment on everyone's blog. The grand prize will be on Sandra's blog. You will have all weekend to hop and the winner will be drawn sometime on Monday or Tuesday.

Thank you so much for taking the time to hop with us on the Flaunt It Friday's Hello Kitty Blog Hop. We can't wait to see how you flaunt your Hello Kitty this week at Flaunt It Fridays, and if you don't have Hello Kitty then flaunt something similar. Your next stop on the hop is Stephanie!
