GK Birthday Card

My mother requested a birthday card to send to her niece, my cousin, for her upcoming birthday.  My cousin plays soccer for her college and is a goalkeeper (GK) for the team.  My mother requested something in the soccer theme, using her team's colors or her GK jersey colors.  I made a shaped card using a GK jersey and gloves:

I used the "Soccer" Cricut cartridge for everything on this one, except the number.  The card base was created with the shadow feature and the long-sleeved jersey.  I used two of those images, one flipped, and welded them together to create the card base.  The images were sized at 4."  The turquoise part of the jersey was cut with the blackout feature and the yellow part with the basic feature.  I trimmed off some of the yellow part to fit with the look of her jersey better.  The gloves were cut at 2."  I also welded two of the shadow images of the gloves to the jersey before cutting the card base.  The number 0, which is actually her number, was cut from "Extreme Fonts."  It was the little league feature and it was cut at 1 1/2."

The sentiment on the front was created with two stamps from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  Both of the stamps were from the Hooray for Birthdays set.

Since the card base was black I cut another blackout image of the jersey for the inside.  I also added a soccer ball, which was cut at 2."  It was also from the "Soccer" cartridge.  The sentiment is also from Scrappy Moms Stamps, but this one is from the Game Day set.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
BBTB2: use any Cricut cut
My Sheri Crafts: project with a birthday theme
Red Carpet Studios: "Any Given Sunday" - sports theme

Nautical Name Sign

My friends had a baby boy in March and have a sort of nautical/underwater theme for him.  I made a name sign to go in his room, since that is what I do.

I used separate 8"x10" canvases for each letter and the image.  I will also be doing two more images, once I settle on two that I like and work with the silhouette idea I went with.  I just really wanted to use the "Art Nouveau" jellyfish.  I was stung by a jellyfish when we were in Belize for their wedding.

The letters are from "Extreme Fonts," the Little League feature.  They were cut at 8."  The jellyfish is from "Art Nouveau," page 61, and was cut at 7."

Baby Cards

The cards I have for you today are super simple, super quick, but super cute!

I made matching cards so that I would be prepared for either eventuality, if the need should arise.

Both cards are 4 1/4"x5 1/2."  I used white cardstock for the base.  I then trimmed some brown and yellow cardstocks at 4 1/8"x5 3/8."  The pink polka dot and blue star cardstock is 4"x5 1/4."  I added pink gems and blue pearls in the four corners.  The strips are 1 3/4"x5 3/8" and matted with a strip that is 1 7/8"x5 3/8."  I used Extreme Fonts for the lettering.  The word "baby" was cut at 3/4" and the words "girl" and "boy" were cut at 1."  I used foam tape to adhere the "girl" and "boy."  The giraffe is from Sugar and Spice and cut at 2."  I gave them google eyes and bows tied from baker's twine.  I also added cinnamon and yellow Stickles to the words "girl" and "boy."

Joy, Alaska

This layout is from a trip my mom, my husband, and I took when my mom was visiting us while we lived in Alaska.  We went with a tour group up to the Arctic Circle and on the way we stopped in this tiny little town called Joy, Alaska.

This double layout is 12"x12."  The background paper has a woodgrain pattern to it and I just love it!!  I used Extreme Fonts for the title and the text for my little "sign."  I created the "sign" to read exactly what the actual sign on the door of the general store said.  I thought it was hilarious....and very true.

The mountains are from Paper Doll Dress Up and the trees from Plantin Schoolbook.

The bears are from Campin' Critters and my journaling spot was created from Elegant Edges.
For the sign, I cut my text out of the green cardstock and matted it with brown cardstock, using the negative images.  I thought it was a pretty cool look.

I added black enamel to the noses of the bears, gave them black pearl eyes and added some yellow Stickles to the badge of the ranger bear.  I also added white enamel to be the "snow" on the mountains and I inked up the forest.  The forest and both bears are adhered with foam tape.  The "sign" is held up with two brads.

ABC Coloring Book

This was a pretty big project!  It took a while to create, but it wasn't really all that hard.  It was just time consuming.  What is this project you ask?  It is a coloring book of the alphabet!
I used my Cricut and a whole LOT of cartridges to create this book.  I will take you through what I did and then let you know all the cartridges I used on this project.

I used Cricut Craft Room to create all of this.  First I created a template of the page size so that I would be able to lay out my letters and images in a way that fit on the page.  My book is 5 1/2"x8 1/2."  I sized a rectangle in Cricut Craft Room and then made sure I never actually cut it out or drew it when creating the book.  I simply used it to position all my elements.

I used the sneak peek of Extreme Fonts for my letters.  They are all sized at 4 1/2."  I used a variety of cartridges for my images.  I selected an image that started with each letter of the alphabet and added any layers that were necessary.  I then used the template I created to position the letters and the images on the page.

I placed my cardstock on the cutting mat, using the position of my template as my guide.  I then replaced the cutting blade with a black Cricut marker.  I then drew out all my letters and images.

I created a front and back cover using some cardstock from the Kidlet Stack by DCWV.  I adhered two pieces together for both covers.  I cut a title using my Cricut.  I named my book "My ABC Coloring Book."  Once all the pages and covers were done I used my Cinch to bind the book together.  See, it really isn't all that hard.  It just takes quite a bit of time to select, position, and draw your images.

Now, here are all the pages and the cartridges I used for the images.  As a reminder, all the letters are from Extreme Fonts, these are the Big League feature.

"Movies" Wall Art

I made this wall art to put in our family room, when we finally finish remodeling our basement.  Our family room is where we have set up our big TV for watching movies, playing video games and where we play board games and stuff like that.
I think I might have to make another piece of wall art for games.  Hmm....something to think about.  Anyways herer is my wall art:
I used the sneak peek that is free to cut this week in Cricut Craft Room of the new font called Extreme Fonts for the word "Movies."  The letters are 6" and I welded them together in Cricut Craft Room and cut it out of gold vinyl.  The film reel is cut from Movie Night at 10."  I cut the film part from black vinyl and the reels in dark grey vinyl and silver vinyl.  I adhered the film reels to the back piece of glass of a float frame.  I then adhered the word "Movies" to the front piece of glass of the float frame.

I put it up on a wall for the picture, but that isn't where it will go in the end.  I have to wait until our remodel is done for that.  :)
I am entering this in BBTB2's. current challenge which is to use a Cricut font.
