Happy Sun

The card base is made from the "Simple Cards" cartridge.  I cut it at 8 1/2."

The sun is from the "Smiley Cards" cartridge.  It was cut at 2 1/4."  I added some black pearls for the eyes and glossy accents on the mouth.  The outer rays of the sun are covered in orange glitter.  I adhered it to the card base with foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Spring Fling stamp set by Scrappy Moms Stamps.

Gingerbread

I have another Christmas card for you today, and I think it turned out super cute!
The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4."  I used white cardstock for the base.  I cut a brown mat at 4 1/4"x6," then cut some red argyle paper at 4 1/8"x5 7/8."

The three gingerbread people are from Smiley Cards.  They are all cut at 2."  I gave them adorable little faces, all three stamps from Peachy Keen, the "Winter Face Assortment."  I added some brown chalk to the little girl gingerbread's cheeks and gave her some freckles with a white gel pen.  I used black pearls for their buttons.  I added glossy accents to the eyes, noses, and hearts on their faces.  I also added some x-mas red Stickles to their bows.  The little girl gingerbread was adhered the card with foam tape.

I cut a strip of brown cardstock at 7/8"x5 7/8."  I cut a white strip of cardstock at 3/4"x5 7/8."  I adhered them to the card and stamped my sentiment on the strip.  I tied a bow from three pieces of cappuccino twine, from The Twinery.

Happy Fall

This is a cute little 5 1/2"x4 1/4" card. I used some olive cardstock for the card base. I cut some orange/green/red plaid paper 1/4" smaller. The plaid paper is from the Indian Summer Stack by DCWV. I cut two strips of olive cardstock, one at 1 3/4"x4" and one at 2 1/2"x4." I then cut some white cardstock 1/8" smaller and embossed it with the Distress Stripes emobssing folder. The larger rectangle is layered with some more plaid paper, also cut 1/8" smaller than the olive cardstock. I used George and Basic Shapes to cut the two circles, one at 3 1/4" and one at 3." The pumpkin is cut from Smiley Cards. I used the Distress Stripes folder on him as well. I also added black pearls for his eyes, glossy accents on his tongue and crackle accents for the stem. The senitment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps. I stamped it on white cardstock, then matted it with some olive cardstock. The circles are pop-dotted to the card base. Birthday Set

This is a cute little birthday card set I made today. I thought it would be perfect for someone who needs a quick summery birthday card for someone. The cards are all 3 1/2"x5" and I made four. I used white cardstock for the base of the card, then cut some tree patterned paper 1/8" smaller. I wrapped the card base with some orange and white plaid ribbon. I cut the clouds from Paper Pups at 1 3/4." There are actually two clouds, but I used my Gypsy to hide the other since I only wanted one on each card. I then flocked the clouds and embossed them with the D'vine Swirls folder and my Cuttlebug. The suns are from Smiley Cards, and I used my Gypsy to hide the face on them. I then used some orange sorbet glitter by Martha Stewart on the outer ring of the sun. I adhered them to the card with pop-dots. I added some orange bling around the sun on each card. My sentiment is stamped in verdigris ink by ColorBox on white cardstock. I then matted it with some orange cardstock, which is cut 1/8" larger than the white. For the inside I just matted some white cardstock with dark green and orange cardstock. Each layer 1/8" larger than the previous one.

Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #17

It is time for another Flaunt It Fridays challenge! This week is challenge #17 and we are asking you to flaunt the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. Specifically we are flaunting the "disguise bird." When I saw this little guy my first thought was that he was perfect for a surprise party invitation. I decided to make a criss-cross card. I used a light blue cardstock for the criss-cross part of the card. I then cut a couple of triangles 1/4" smaller than the flaps, from a patterned paper. The little bird is cut at 3," using both regular and shadow features. I flocked the main part of his body with navy colored flocking. I added crackle accents to his wings and glossy accents to his sunglasses and I used a grey pen on his mustache. The "shhh..." sentiment is from Smiley Cards and I added the three dots using George and Basic Shapes and welding it all together on my Gypsy. I also used my Gypsy to weld the "it's a surprise" sentiment, which is from Mickey Font. Both the sentiments are cut at 1." The inner card is cut at 5 1/4"x3 3/4." I used a shimmery blue cardstock for the outer layer and white cardstock for the inner layer, which is 1/4" smaller than the blue. I punched a hole in the top and added a polka dotted ribbon. I placed a brad through the hole as well. I finished it all off with some doodling on the sentiments. There is my project, I hope you all like it! I also hope you check out all the other projects that the rest of the design has come up with! Now head on over to Flaunt It Fridays, check out all the fun projects, get inspired and create your own project! I can't wait to see how you flaunt this fun little disguised bird! :)

Cheers!

This is a gate fold card that, when folded, measures 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used a patterned green cardstock for the card base. I then cut some green plaid cardstock at 3 3/4"x4 3/4." I cut some white cardstock at 3 1/4"x4 1/4" and then embossed it with the Argyle folder. I then cut them both down the middle and adhered them to my card base. I stamped my sentiment, which is from Studio g, using clear ink and then heat embossing it with some glittery green embossing powder. I then cut some dark green glittery cardstock to layer it on. I attached it only to the left side of the card at the top. My image, the beer glass, comes from Smiley Cards. It is cut at 3 3/4" and I used the shadow feature on it as well. I embossed the glass with Distress Stripes and the foam with D'vine Swirls. I used an embossed layer of vellum on the glass to give it that frosty look. I then attached the glass to the left hand side of the card.

Thx!

It seems that technology is even creeping into my card making. ;) Actually, that was today's challenge at 365 Cards. The challenge was to use what you see in texting on your card, the abbreviated words and phtrases. I used the colors from Color Throwdown: always artichoke, baja breeze, cameo coral. I also used this week's ABC Challenge, which is a sketch and L is for Lace. Since I don't actually have any lace on hand I used a border punch to create some paper lace.
The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used some dark green cardstock to make the card base. I trimmed some white cardstock at 4 1/4"x6." I used some blue patterned paper from DCWV's Citrus Stack and some pink patterned paper by Penny Lane for my background. Those strips are cut at 5 7/8"x1 3/4." I cut a piece of shimmery white cardstock at 5 3/4"x1 3/4" and then used a Martha Stewart border punch to create my lace. I then tied a polka dotted blue ribbon around the card. I mounted a green rectange, cut at 3 3/8"x2 5/8," onto the card and layered it with white cardstock, cut at 3 1/4"x2 1/2." My sentiment, "THX," was cut from Smiley Cards. The largest two were cut in green, at 1 1/2" and 1 1/4." I cut the pink one at 1." I inked the edges of the green sentiments in hint of pesto ink by Tsukineko. I glued the green sentiments down, layering them, and pop-dotted the pink sentiment. I finished it off with some fruit punch Stickles on the pink sentiment. Enjoy!!
