Dear Santa

It is finally starting to warm up around here.  So, apparently I thought  Christmas card was in order.  ;)  The card I made today is a clean and simple one and only took about 15 minutes to put together.  Hope you enjoy!

The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4."  I used Just Because Cards for the card shape.
The Santa die cut is from the Silhouette Studio and the stamp is from My Craft Spot and is stamped in pink petunia ink by Tsukineko.

Lemonade

This card is #4 in my Block Party cartridge series. I think this one is my favorite of the four! I used the lemonade cut for this one and here it is:
The card is 4 1/2"x6 1/4." I used white cardstock, then cut a piece of green cardstock 1/4" smaller. I cut some orange cardstock at 4 1/8"x5" and some pink patterned paper at 4"x4 7/8." The lemonade pitcher is cut from Block Party at 3." The lemon is cut from Just Because Cards at 1 1/2." I gave her an adorable Peachy Keen face. I added some yellow Stickles to the lemonade and lime green Stickles to the leaf, glossy accents to the lemons and shine and lips of the lemon and some white pearls along the top of the patterned paper. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper and is just part of the whole stamp. I just masked off the part I didn't want.
I also finished the inside, since I kind of left you hanging on the outside. ;) I cut some orange cardstock at 4 1/4"x6" and some more pink polka dot paper at 4 1/8"x5 7/8." I then cut the green cardstock at 3 1/2"x5." I cut another lemon from Just Because Cards at 3." I used another super cute Peachy Keen face on this one as well. I also added some lime green Stickles to the leaf and glossy accents to the shine, tongue, and eye on the lemons. I finished off the end of the sentiment with a Scrappy Moms Stamp. So...pretty cute huh?

Gingerbread Kisses

This is a 4 1/2"x6 1/4" card. I used some striped cardstock for the card base. I wrapped it with some green glitter ribbon. The double matted label is from Elegant Edges. I used the oblong feature and my Gyspy to make it taller without going wider. It measures 5 1/4"x3 1/2" (the green layer) and 5"x3 1/4" (the white layer). The stocking is cut at 5." I flocked and embossed the white layer with the D'vine Swirls folder. The green layers are embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. I used glossy accents on the nail. The gingerbread man is cut at 2 3/4" from "Just Because" Cards. I used my white gel pen to draw on his icing stripes and some white pearls for his eyes, smile and buttons. I only adhered down the bottom part of the stocking so that I could create a pocket at the top part for the gingerbread man. I pop-dotted the top part of the stocking and put my little gingerbread guy inside. For the inside I cut more of the striped cardstock 1/8" smaller than the card base. I then cut some green cardstock 1" smaller than the striped cardstock and the white cardstock is 1/4" smaller than the green. I used a Scrappy Moms Stamp for the senitment and stamped it in jumbo java ink, by Tsukineko.

Go Hog Wild!

This is a 5"x5" card. I used some shimmery olive green cardstock for the base. I then cut some aqua blue cardstock at 4 3/4"x4 3/4," then ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Polka Dots embossing folder. I cut a 2"x2" square from the green, then cut it in half diagonally to make my corner triangles. I added some orange pearls in the corners. I cut a 3 1/4" square from an orange cardstock, then a 3" square from white. My pig was cut at 1 3/4" from "Just Because" Cards. I embossed the orange layer of the pig in the Swiss Dots folder, then pop-dotted him to the white square. I added four buttons, that remind me of pig noses, to the corners and some alphabet letters to spell out "oink." The sentiment is computer generated and mounted on the same orange cardstock as the pig and the orange square. The inside is layered with the aqua blue cardstock and white cardstock. The other half of the sentiment is in there as well, also mounted on the orange cardstock. The white and black cardstock is from my stash. The colored cardstock is all from the Cafe Mediterranean Stack by DCWV.

What a Pear!

The base of this card is 5"x6 3/4." I cut the card from "Just Because" Cards at 6 1/4." I used a white cardstock and sponged two colors of green alcohol inks on the top half. I adhered the card to the base I made. I cut the inside of the card from some light green cardstock and edged it with lime green Stickles. I embossed a piece of glittery green cardstock, cut at 4 3/8"x3 1/2," with one of the Preserves Companion folders. I adhered it to the bottom half of the card and wrapped a ribbon around the middle. I cut two pears out and pop-dotted one of them. I added three green gems to the bottom right of the card. I stamped my sentiment, which is from My Pink Stamper, and layered it and mounted it to the card. I thought this would make a great, non-traditional Valentine's Day card.

I made this for the following challenges:
  • 365 Cards: "Half & Half" - on one half use a sponging technique and on the other half use some embossing
  • CPS: sketch #203
  • Jitterbuggin': "Non-traditional Valentine's" - make a Valentine's Day card, using any sketch, but no red or pink
  • My Creative Time: "Throwback Thursday" - use either "Just Because" Cards or Wild Card and include a stamped sentiment

Two Christmas Cards

Even though the coaster gift set took up most of my day I managed to make two cards today for some challenges. This first one is using the sketch challenge at Crafty Ho's, Santa cake inspiration at Cupcake Inspirations, and to hand cut an image for Paper Sundaes. I used a pre-made 5 1/2"x4 1/4" card from DCWV. I stamped my Santa image on white paper and embossed it with some silver embossing powder and then cut around the image. I cut some red paper at 2 1/2"x2 3/4," and some green paper at 2 3/4"x3." I then embossed both papers with the D'vine Swirls embossing folder. I layered them all together and adhered them on the card. I cut a strip of green paper at 1 1/4"x4 1/4" and also embossed it with D'vine Swirls. I adhered a piece of red ribbon in the middle of the green strip and embellished it with some holly buttons and red gems.

This second card was made using the sketch from Sunday's 365 Cards challenge. I also used the gingerbread man from Just Because Cards for BBTB2's challenge and embellished it for Tuesday Morning Sketches.

The card base is 4 1/2"x6 1/4," using a patterned red cardstock. I cut a strip of white paper and a strip of green paper at 2 1/4"x6 1/4." I then embossed the green paper with the Polka Dots embossing folder and cut the edge of the white paper with scalloped paper edgers. I adhered them to the card so you could see only the edge of the white paper from under the green. I wrapped some white and silver ribbon around the card. The gingerbread man was cut at 4" (real dial size used) out of brown cardstock. I then decorated him with some rick-rack "icing" on his arms and legs, some buttons for, well, buttons; and some flat-backed pearls for eyes and mouth. I then edged him in cinnamon Stickles and used some foam tape to mount him.
Both cards are pretty simple, but I am quite pleased with the results of both of them. I hope you enjoy!
