Hey Little One ...

When babies look beyond you and giggle, maybe they're seeing angels. ~Eileen Elias Freeman, The Angels' Little Instruction Book, 1994

Good morning!
Today I am sharing an accidental boy baby card!
I rarely make cards for Littles but recently I found myself having to make 4 cards, 3 girls and one boy… the issue is I messed up when making a card for an incoming baby girl because I was thinking about the baby boy that I needed to make a card for!

Ah well … it’s not really a bad thing as I have the card for just in case!

Supplies (5 x 7 card)
  • Pre-colored image from Cuddle Buddy (Baby Animals) printed on Hammermill color copy
  • Card candy for flower centers from my stash
  • Card stock from The Paper Studio (Base) and scrap bin
  • Die from Close to My Heart (Looped Circle)
  • Flower dies (Unknown)
  • Ink from Stampin Up! and Versafine Claire
  • Sentiment from Unity Stamps (Here at last)
  • Stencil from Scrapbook.com (Mod Asterisk)

The Outlawz Crash your Stash Challenge: Flocking

When baby smiles in his sleep, an angel kisses him. ~Ouina (Cora L. V. Scott Richmond), given through her Medium "Water Lily," Ouina's Canoe, 1882

Good morning!
We have a new Crash your Stash Challenge starting at The Outlawz Challenges which will run through December 15th

Our generous Sponsor this month Oddball Art
Prize is a $10 gift code

Our cue this month is Flocking

Flocking. Something else I forget I have until a challenge comes up! Luckily enough, I have a box of tiny vials filled with this stuff that I bought so many years ago from The Oriental Trading Company so I don’t have a lot of money invested in something that literally sits in a drawer with my glitters.

I though about covering the whole image but realized I would also cover up the detailing for this sweet little lamb so I opted to flock highlines.

Supplies:
  • Image, No Drama Llama from Oddball art, printed on Hammermill Premium Cover Card Stock
  • Design Paper from Colorbok
  • Flocking powder from The Oriental Trading Company
  • ProMarkers
  • Sentiment from Inkahootz! (Out of business)
  • Sketch used: Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #280

Now come on over to The Outlawz Challenges to play along with us or one of the other challenges that are always in process!

The Outlawz Crash your Stash Challenge: Doilies

"Easter," all her birds are singing, Easter, and the souls of men, lying long in strife and shadow, Take the light of heaven again. ~J.J. Britton (1832–1913), "Easter"

Good morning!
Today is the start of a  new “Crash your Stash” challenge at The Outlawz Challenges which will run until March March 28th.

Our Sponsor this month is Wink Wink Ink
Check out her Etsy store HERE

Our stash item for this month is Doilies
One of those odd items that seems to come and go in the crafting world. I think the ones I have were originally bought for a winter tea my daughter & I did last year and I had a several left. I couldn’t bring myself to toss them but I also don’t need more stuff piling up in a craft room I am trying to clean up.

For my card I cut one doily in half and did some creative layering. I love how the simple pattern looks so elegant. Perfect backdrop for the cute image from the Sponsor I am using called Farm Friends.

Supplies:
  • Pre-Colored Sponsor image printed on Stampin Up! Whisper White card stock
  • Card stock from The Paper Studio (base)
  • Doily from The Dollar Tree
  • Pearls from Recollections
  • Sentiment from Spellbinders
  • Shimmer paper from Neenah

Now come on over to The OutlawzChallenges to play along with us or one of the other challenges that are always in process!

The Stork is in transit!

Aside from new babies, new mothers must be the most beautiful creatures on earth.
~Terri Guillemets, 2010 January 26th, journal

It's not often I get to make baby cards but the daughter of a friend has entered the parent trap and expecting shortly. This months image from the Progressive freebee challenge at The Outlawz was perfect for what I wanted to try ...

The image is called "Wishful Asha" from Make it Crafty.

I decided to try something different and used a variant of the spotlight technique. A little masking for the cloud background and voila!
