Day 5 & final, Growing in Unity 2019

Courtesies of a small and trivial character are the ones which strike deepest in the grateful and appreciating heart. ~Henry Clay

Good Morning!
Awww... Sadness :O( …
Today is my fifth and final day to share with you a card I made using a Unity Stamp. I hope you have enjoyed your visits and I appreciate all the wonderful comments that have been left over the last several days!

As you can all see, I am a big fan of using sketch layouts for my cards! They are such great prompts for those days when I struggle with a layout for an image I am using. I’m not really a scrapbooker (so to speak), but many years ago when I was questioning a friend who was using an actual scrapbook layout for a card, she simple said “Cards are just little scrapbook pages. Only instead of a photograph, you are using a stamped image”.

It just made so much sense and I started looking at them differently… Now I use them all the time.
This card is no exception. A layout for a square card was used here, but I did not follow exactly. You can see I modified a bit for a 5 x 7 card but you can still make out the layout. I do that all the time. Just have to make some adjustments for the card base size you are using.

Not sure what the deal is with my picture, hoping you can see it clearly on your end.

Day 4, Growing in Unity 2019

The most important thing is to live a fabulous life. As long as it's fabulous I don't care how long it is. - Freddie Mercury

Good Morning!
Today is day four of me sharing with you a card I made using a Unity Stamp. A good friend of mine has this stamp and when I saw it I just knew I also had to have it!

This card is going to be a birthday card for someone special and once again my card follows a sketch. I did not have any twine or ribbon I liked to go with the colors used on the card so opted to use a bit more of the glitter paper to create the "ribbon" effect.

Supplies for 5 x 7 card

Day 3, Growing in Unity 2019

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky. ~Rabindranath Tagore

Good Morning!
Today is my day three for sharing with you a card I made using a Unity Stamp. This card was made for a young family friend who is celebrating a birthday this month

The image is a recent purchase and I bought it because I kept seeing the clouds in different and fun colors! So it was great to actually play with it and see those thoughts come to life!

First I stamped the image on watercolor paper then heat embossed in black. Once set, I misted the paper and starting adding the twinkling H2O paints. When the paints and paper were dry, I added glitter glue to give a lot of additional sparkle to the card! Perfect for a young lady!

I love how bright and sparkly it turned out

Supplies for 5 x 7 card

Day 2, Growing in Unity 2019

Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Good Morning!
Today is my day two for sharing with you a card I made using a Unity Stamp. This card was made for a family friend who celebrated turning 90 years young! Since he has such a great sense of humor, I thought Brian Guy would be a great image for his card.

I did a bit of paper piecing for the shirt and pants by stamping the image on some bits of design paper I had in my scrap box. Then I trimmed them up and attached to another image stamped on white card stock.

Supplies for 5 x 7 card

  • Card stock from Stampin Up and American Crafts!
  • Design Paper from my Scrap box
