Crash your Stash: Chip board

After all the shattering discoveries of science and conclusions of philosophy, mankind has still to live with dignity amid hostile nature, and in the presence of an unknowable power, and mankind can only succeed in this tremendous feat by the exercise of faith and of that mutual goodwill which is based in sincerity and charity. ~Arnold Bennett (1867–1931)

Good morning!
Today we re-start Crash your Stash on our new blog home located HERE! The challenges will run through September 14th so come play along.

Our sponsor this month is Alex Serbia Designs with a $10.00 prize to her etsy shop!

The challenge for this month is to use chip board.

For my slim line card I used a fun floral image called Happy flowers.

The leaves are cut from some chipboard sheets that I have had forever. They already have a layer of card stock on them but I never think of using them ... until now.

I cut two sets of leaves using a Sizzix bigz die (Love these dies as they cut through practically anything). I then sponged one of the sets to darken the leaves for contrast.

Supplies for slimline card
  • Sponsor image Happy Flowers printed on Hammermill Color Copy
  • Banner punch from Stampin Up!
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio (Base)
  • Chipboard for leaves, stash
  • Die from Sizzix (Leaves)
  • Ink from Stampin Up! & Tsukineko
  • ProMarkers
  • Sentiment from Unity Stamps

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to join our Facebook Fan Page located HERE!

The Outlawz Crash your Stash Challenge: Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces

Christmas in Bethlehem. The ancient dream: a cold, clear night made brilliant by a glorious star, the smell of incense, shepherds and wise men falling to their knees in adoration of the sweet baby, the incarnation of perfect love. ~Lucinda Franks

Crash your Stash: Chipboard

A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society. --- Billy Graham

Good morning!
Today is February 15th and we have another “Crash your Stash” challenge for you at The Outlawz Challenges

The purpose of this Challenge is to encourage you to use those items that are no longer trending and probably stashed away in a drawer. Forgotten and alone. So, we are here to help inspire you to dig those lovely items out and bring them new life!
And to make it better, We Are 3 Digital Shop is generously sponsoring us so everyone month, someone will win a lovely prize!
Our item for this month is
Chip Board
We all have it in our stash. Stored away somewhere in a box or bag. Those alphabets, numbers and shapes from a bygone era! We painted them, covered them with design paper and distressed them.  Now you get to dig them out and rediscover how fun they are to play with.

I enjoy making masculine cards and this one will be sent to my Stepfather-in-Law.

Supplies: 5 x 7 card

Button: Bazzill
Cardstock: The Paper Studio (base) and Stampin Up!
Design Paper: Recollections Whiskey Barrel
Embossing Folder: Crafters Companion
Stash: Star shaped chipboard
Twine: Stampin Up!

My card is based on this one from Cardgrotto.com

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to stop by The Outlawz Challenges where there is a challenge for every day of the week!

Angels, Angels and more Angels! ...

Be an angel to someone else whenever you can, as a way of thanking God for the help your angel has given you. ~Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994

Hello!
Today is my Growing in Unity 2017, Day 2 show and tell!

I have a thing for Angels and Angel wings…
I was born in December, very close to Christmas and every year my mom has given me a special angel for my birthday. Some are small and some are large, like the life size brass angel wings she gave me for my 50th birthday! (They are AWESOME!) To this day I am always on the hunt for the Angels and wings that are different or have something special that separates them from standard mass produced pretty angels we tend to see in the stores.

Surprisingly, I don’t have a large collection of Angel stamps so when I saw this stamp set “Make Snow Angels” I dropped it right into my shopping cart! He is sooo cute with such a sweet expression on his face! Seriously, combined with the sentiment that comes with him, he is perfect anytime you want to create a pick-me-up card for someone special!

For this 5 x 7 card, I created a sparkly border with some glue and fine glitter. I also added glitter to the chipboard snowflakes and the image itself

Sadly I could not get a really good picture of the sparkly no matter how hard I tried! :O(

Supplies
  • Image/Sentiment “Make Snow Angels”
  • Alcohol markers
  • Card stock from The Paper Studio and Stampin Up!
  • Chipboard snowflakes from Close to My Heart
  • Design paper “Snowflakes” from Ever after Scrapbook Co.
  • Extra fine Glitter from Sulyn
  • India Ink from Memories
