Floating by to say hi ...

Smell the Sea and fell the Sky. - Van Morrison

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing a card I created for our Color Challenge at The Outlawz Challenges using an image from our Sponsor, Beccys Place

This fortnight we are using a Tic Tac Toe board for our challenge. I have chosen to work with the middle row, vertical

I absolutely squeed when I saw this image and sentiment! I do have a bit of a twisted sense of humor and usually do amazingly well keeping it under control but seriously – this image is perfect for this challenge! And that expression on her face really made it more awesome!

As you can see she is 'floating' along in the innertube, her bathing suit mimics the ball (so appropriate don’t you think) and her hair is the colors of the starfish. the cloud background was inspired by the water background in the bottom photo, but I used clouds as a play on the sentiment.

Supplies used (5x7 card)
  • Digital image (Floating by) printed on Hammermill Color Copy
  • Birds are from a stencil I created myself using dies
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio (Base)
  • Ink from Stampin Up! and Tsukineko
  • Judikins diamond glaze
  • ProMarkers
  • Random stamps from Stamps by Judy
  • Stencil (Cloud, moon & Stars) from Stampin Up!

Sparkly AND Spooky ...

Hold on, man. We don't go anywhere with "scary," "spooky," "haunted," or "forbidden" in the title. ~From Scooby-Doo

Good morning!
I’m here to share my card for the new color challenge which started today at The Outlawz Challenges!

Our sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy with a prize of 3 images from their store

This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe boards for your to use. Just pick your … er … poison. Row 1, 2 or 3 vertical or horizontal … or corner to corner! Paid attention to what is written in some of the squares!

I am using the first row, vertical which worked out really well with this pre-colored image I used.

Not gonna lie, kinda giggled as I was adding the background behind our sweet little bunny boy (just working to cover the spooky part lol). I giggled a little harder when I pulled the sentiment from my shelf!

Personally, I think this card is hilarious, but then I’ve been told I have a twisted sense of humor on occasion.

Magical Beasts ...

The unicorn, she said, was a marvelous beast, shining with honor, wisdom and strength. Just to see him strengthened the soul. ~Megan Lindholm, "The Unicorn in the Maze," 1988

Good morning!
Today starts a new Color Challenge at The Outlawz Challenges and do we have something special and different.

Our Sponsor this month is DigiStamps 4 Joy with a $10 voucher to their store (HERE)

AJ has chosen a very different tic tac toe board for us to play with. Just pick your row and from each picture, pick your inspiraton.

I chose the bottom row for my 5 x 7 card. Now my colors appear darker than they really are, but the battery was dead on my camera so I took with phone.

From the 1st square, I wanted the Unicorn and the sparkles which are represented by the fine dots on the image and tail, the embossed border and the pearls added to the flourish.
From the 2nd square I used the colors purple and rose ... as well as the rose image
From the 3rd square I used the color orange and the flourish.

Supply List
Bit of silver glitter card stock for the horn from my scrap
Card stock from Stampin Up, The Paper Studio and Bazzill
Embossing border folder from the set "Noel Noel" by Cuttlebug
Floral Scroll die from Cuttlebug
Pallet ink
Pearls from my stash
Rose Garden embossing folder from Crafters Companion
Sentiment from "You are Magical" by A-Muse Studios

Birthday flowers ...

[F]lowers... adorn our lanes, fields and fells, and... smile upon us and cheer and bless us in our country rambles.... the lovely blossoms... kiss the clear brooks and mountain wells... ~James Rigg, "Preface," Wild Flower Lyrics and Other Poems, 1897

Good afternoon...
Bit late with my post today. I have not been doing a very good job managing my time since I retired and need to get back into a rhythm :O( ...

Today is the start of a new color challenge at The Outlawz, sponsored this month by Mary Smith of Createful Hearts Digis.

Our colors this week, a tic tac toe table, were selected by Jeanie and Kimberly.

Here is my card, which to be honest is a little messed up. I had decided to use the center squares left to right. Problem is that I mistook 'ribbon' for lace. Sooooo ... my card has an embossed lace doily :O)
But ... I like it and hope you do too!

Supplies
Cardstock from The Paper Studio, Stampin Up! and Bazzill
Die from Darice: Floral Swirl Burst
Dies from Spellbinders: Blossom 2 and Daisy Toppers
Lace Doily Embossing folder from Sizzix
Pearl from Michaels $1 bin
Sentiment from Halo Rubber Stamps

Cardstock from Stampin Up!
Die from Marianne Designs
