Patches 'lil nap

To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace.
Milan Kundera

Good Morning Crafty Peeps!
A new month and new Progressive Freebie Challenge at DigiStamps4Joy Facebook Group.

This month our image is adorable puppy! Patches 'lil nap … If you wanna play along with the rest of us you can purchase the image HERE for a discounted price to get started!

My card is on the clean and simple side this month. I had ordinally printed the image so I could do a single layer card but when I started coloring I used ProMarkers instead of my Prisma Color Pencils and well … all that lovely bleed through had me getting creatiive with a few cuts and layering up! I am also practicing coloring with shades of black ... I'm not super thrilled with how his coloring turned out as it appears I did not do a grat job blending out the black but I'll get better.

Close up of the leaves with a touch of glitter to them.

Supplies
Digi Image Patches “lil nap from DigiStamps4Joy
Card stock from The Paper Studio (base) and Stampin Up!
Glitter Glue from Studio G
India Ink from Memories
ProMarkers

CAS Anything Goes!

They say that age is all in your mind. The trick is keeping it from creeping down into your body.
Author Unknown

Good morning my crafty peeps!
Not only am I tardy getting this posted but I have been pretty much AWOL from my blog for a bit. But very little crafting has been taking place for me these past weeks! It hasn't been intentional. January is always a hectic month for our household as we try to reestablish routines disrupted by the holiday schedule.

I finally sat down last night and wrote myself a daily routine list - It was something I really needed to do as I seem to be running around each day trying to fit everything in, only to hit that point of the day when I have to stop. Then I look around and wonder what the heck I did with all my time because my to do list does not appear to be any shorter than when I started!

The perpetual spinning of wheels in the mud bog. Lots of energy being expended but no forward momentum.

Add to this - my mojo decided  to head south for vacation too so I have been trying to track it down and drag it back home where it belongs!

I am actually not scheduled for this week at the Outlawz, but this is the last post for my dear CAS Sistah Charlene as she is headed off on a new adventure, both personally and artistically and I wish her much luck in this new endeavor.

Click HERE to visit her blog Crystaldolphin's Blog. You won't be disappointed!

We also have had a few other changes, one of which is the addition of a monthly prize specially for our CAS Challenge.

Our Sponsor
Anonymous Donor
Is offering a $10 gift card to a store of choice for the winner this month!
Thank you so much Anonymous Donor for sponsoring our first ever CAS prize!

Easter Sunday: The Outlawz Clean & Simple Challenge

Easter is not a time for groping through dusty, musty tomes or tombs to disprove spontaneous generation or even to prove life eternal.  It is a day to fan the ashes of dead hope, a day to banish doubts and seek the slopes where the sun is rising, to revel in the faith which transports us out of ourselves and the dead past into the vast and inviting unknown.

Author unknown, as quoted in the Lewiston Tribune

Good morning!
Grace unto you as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. May the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Today is Easter Sunday!  Show us, in CAS style, what Easter means to you and perhaps you might share a brief happy Easter memory with us.

Easter has always been a happy time for my family, whether it was the Easter egg hunts with the kids when they were little or sharing dinner with family and friends. I love everything from the chocolate bunnies to hearing the story of Jesus's return from the grave to remind us that we too, can find everlasting life if we believe in him.

Here is my card

Size A2
SUPPLIES:
Glossy card stock from Expedex
Image "Dainty Daisies" from Great Impressions
Sentiment from Stampin Up! "Never Ending Joy"
Ink used to color daisies from Stampin Up!

Looking forward to seeing your CAS Easter creations and hear your stories!

The Outlawz CAS Challenge: "New Beginnings"

Good morning Friends,
Where did 2013 go already? As a matter of fact, where did any of the past years go? Although I would not change anything, every now and again, I do miss the days when my children were young. Especially around the Holidays when viewing everything through their eyes always pulled at the child that still dwells in my heart to come out and play. It's seems to me, that as adults, we do what society expects of us and we ignore that inner child in us in favor of "adult" behaviors. Speaking for myself, I often forget, that the small child inside me is a very large part of the foundation of who I am as an adult today.

We all make these lofty goals for the New Year. Lose weight, read more, get more organised. But these are not the resolutions I want to make for myself this year. Not this time .... What I want to do is  to try and let my inner child out to play a bit more often. To laugh out loud at the antics of our cats. To just stop and listen to the wind in the trees and the song of a bird. To see the wonder and beauty in everything. To gaze upon the world around me without prejudice.

Today's CAS Challenge at The Outlawz is "New Beginnings"
Something new, like a new baby, a new house or job. Or maybe a new attitude!

My card is to remind me that I need a "New Attitude" about my inner child. That I need to "Be Playful" and find that something fun and special in everything I do and see.

SUPPLIES: Card stock (Stampin Up!), Image name unknown (Provocraft), Sentiment (TAC "Sail away"), Prisma color pencils

Come show us what your  "New Beginnings" for 2014 are.

Sapphire

Good morning! Today is a new Clean and Simple Challenge at the Outlawz!

It's a September birthstone challenge.
"Sapphire, the September birthstone, has been popular since the Middle Ages and, according to folklore, will protect your loved ones from envy and harm.  Medieval clergy wore sapphires to symbolize heaven, while commoners thought the gem attracted heavenly blessings".  This challenge is to make a monochromatic card using Sapphire Blue as the dominate color....keeping it CAS.

Here is my card for the challenge!

The mother/child image was given to me several years ago by a friend. I stamped with versamark onto glossy card stock, heat embossed with clear EP then lightly sponged with brilliant blue.

SUPPLIES: Stampin Up! (Ink), The Angel Company (Sentiment), Stash (Glossy card stock, image, sequins and clear embossing powder)

Please stop by top play along and take a chance at winning one of these fabulous prizes!

Giving Thanks for you!

Another card from Crafty Peeps Scrap day.

This is a very simple CAS card. I think it took longer for me to make the stencil than the card!

I stamped over the leaf with a wheat image and the sentiment

Supplies:
Card stock, sentiment and ink: Stampin Up!
Leaf punch: Marvy
Wheat image: $1 bin find
