Get well Muzzy ...

In our busy 21st century life the one commodity that seems to be going extinct is time and we forget that healing takes time. ~Dr. Frank Lipman

Good morning!
Again, using some older design paper, I created a set of get-well cards. Never know when one is needed!

The image on this card to I have had for ages and I just love him and tend to use him when I need to make a get-well card even though I have other stamps that work as well! He’s great for paper piecing which I did with this card.

Supplies (A2)
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio and Stampin Up!
  • Dies from Sizzix (Classic Circle)
  • Image from Great Impressions (A Band-aid from Muzzy)
  • Ink is Versafine Claire

Get well Soon ...

As a people, we have become obsessed with Health.  There is something fundamentally, radically unhealthy about all this.  We do not seem to be seeking more exuberance in living as much as staving off failure, putting off dying.  We have lost all confidence in the human body.  ~Lewis Thomas, The Medusa and the Snail, 1979

Sending a cup of Cheer!

Someone remembers, someone cares; Your name is whispered in someone’s prayers. ~Author Unknown

Good morning my crafty peeps.
I hope your weekend has been a fine one indeed! Mine has been awesome as I saw a dear friend of mine in from out of town for her daughters baby shower. She is one of those people that is always laughing about something and she makes me smile. We used to work together and I miss her smiling face at work each day.

Today is the start of another Clean and Simple Challenge over at The Outlawz!
Pryn has a good one for us this week "Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble!" ... hah bet you thought it had something to do with witches huh? (although you COULD create a nice witches cauldron!). Either way, you need to create a CAS card or project that features something on it that you can cook or stir. Coffee? Tea? How about a love potion (in that cauldron maybe? hmmm?) or how about a nice cocktail?

Come check out the inspiration from the team and stir up something to share!

Here's my card!
Although hard to see in the picture, the red on the tea cups was done using a red glitter gel pen. Looks cool in person! And,well for me at least, tea stains on the paper! I used a lovely splatter stencil created by that yummy Tim Holtz fella ... (heh heh)

Card size is A2

Products used
Card stock: The Paper Studio and Stampin Up!
Splatter Stencil from Tim Holtz Collection
Ink from Stampin Up! and Memories India Ink
Image from JRL Designs
Sentiment from Great Impressions
Red Gel pen: Name unknown, bought at Ikea

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Outlawz Clean & Simple Challenge: Get Well

The best six doctors anywhere, and no one can deny it are
sunshine, water, rest, and air, exercise and diet.

These six will gladly you attend if only you are willing your mind they'll ease, your will they'll mend and charge you not a shilling.

~Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields, What the River Knows, 1990

Good morning One and All!
Today is the start of another Clean and Simple Challenge over at The Outlawz!

Today is National Doctors' Day in the US, commemorating the nation's doctors who have dedicated themselves to public service by helping to ensure the good health of its citizens.
Your challenge this week is to create a CAS "Get Well" card or project!

My card was made using an adorable little mouse image from Stampendous. Just love this little guy and he's easy to color or paper piece as I did the band-aid here. I also stamped and cut the image from copy paper to use as a covering stencil so I could sponge around him for the sky and grass

SIZE: A2
SUPPLIES
Card stock from Stampin Up! & Bazzill
Sentiment from Halo Rubber Stamps
Muzzy the mouse from Great Impressions
Inks from Stampin Up & Making Memories
Red Glitter Pen
Marvy Uchida 1.75" Square Punch

A request from Misty Loges - Blogging it forward (FB)

Please, if you can take a few minutes to read this request from Misty Loges regarding a friend of hers.

"I know many of you are busy with holiday activities & getting ready for school. I do hope you can help me cheer a young man, who had a terrible accident, and is in hospital paralyzed from neck down. He has been making tiny improvements and is off ventilator. Of course we hope he will recover use of all limbs. But can y'all take time to send him a cheery card please? And feel free to share with other card makers. Thank you

Brian Bannon C/O Cindy Chinquee, 243 Park St., Browns Mills, NJ 08015

Thanks so much!
Cara

This is the card I will be sending to him.
The frogs were stamped onto the DP and then colored
