Subject: Fw: : HOORAY - a 53-46 vote

Been around before, but a good reminder

HOORAY - a 53-46 vote

Please note that the ones that voted for this Resolution were 45 Democrats including Mary Landrieu and one Independent.

HURRAY a 53-46 vote

The U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11. It: CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION and DISARMAMENT of all UN countries.

By a 53-46 vote - The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N. resolution.  HOORAY.

This is that brief, glorious moment in history
when everyone stands around...reloading.

Now, Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names become known ! See below . If you vote in one of the states listed with these 46 legis..traitors… vote against them.

In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.  The Statement of Purpose from the Senate Bill reads:  "To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty."  The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms.  The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry, now get this, on all private guns and ammo.

Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.

Here are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the U.N.
Baldwin (D-WI)
Baucus (D-MT)
Bennett (D-CO)
Blumenthal (D-CT)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Cantwell (D-WA)

Folks: This needs to go viral. These Senators voted to let the UN take OUR guns. They need to lose their next election. We have been betrayed.

The 2014 United States elections will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. During this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested in this election. Get out and VOTE!
A movement has been started by our armed forces to get out the vote in 2014. They are organizing themselves, but this can be done by all of us. The President, the Commander in Chief, has made the Rules of Engagement (ROE) so difficult, that our troops are often killed before they can even get permission to fight. Nothing has been done to stop our troops from being murdered by the Afghanis they are training, either.

Now, the President wants the US to sign on to the UNs International Criminal Court (ICC), whichwould allow the UN's ICC to arrest and try US troops for War Crimes, without the legal protections guaranteed under US Law, and from which there is no appeal.

The President, with his Democratic control of the Senate, has nearly all the power. If the Non-Establishment Republicans, and Conservatives, can take back the Senate in 2014, our troops can once again be protected from unnecessary danger. Please consider this, and send it on to your mailing lists.
Interestingly enough, when GWB was president you heard about the military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan almost daily. With Obama in the White House, the mainstream media has been strangely quiet. ---
More than 1,000 American soldiers have lost their lives in Afghanistan in the last 27 months. This is more than the combined total of the nine years before. During the last month, over 50 additional NATO and US servicemen have been murdered, inside jobs by those who are hired to be a force for good in Afghanistan.
The commander in chief is AWOL. Not a peep, although he ordered the White House flag flown at half-staff for the Sikhs that were killed. There is a deep disgust, a fury, growing in the ranks of the military against the indifferent incompetence of this president. It has taken on a dangerous tone. No one knows what to do about him, but the anger runs deep as the deaths continue with no strategic end in sight to the idiocy of this war. Obama has had 5 years to end this futile insanity, during which time he has vacationed, golfed, campaigned, and generally ignored the plight of our men and women in uniform.

But, there is now a movement afoot in the armed services to launch a massive get out the vote drive against this president's lackeys in the senate and the house, especially John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.

Not just current active duty types, but the National Guard, Reserves, the retired, and all other prior service members. This is no small special interest group, but many millions of veterans who can have an enormous impact on the outcome of the November election if they all respond.

The one million military retirees in Florida alone could mean an overwhelming victory in that state if they all show up at the polls. It might not keep another one hundred U.S. troops from dying between now and November, but a turn out to vote by the military against this heart breaking lack of leadership can make a powerful statement that hastens a change to the indifference of this shallow little man who just lets our soldiers die.

Veterans: Please forward to your lists.High Priority!

For those who have fought for it, freedom has a taste the protected will never know.  "IN GOD WE TRUST"

So, you don’t think Big Pharma’s profits are excessive?  OR they don’’t influence politicians too much?  Read this artcle:

The U.S. Congress has an approval rating at less than 5%.  In fact, porn, polygamy and the BP oil spill rate higher than Congress.  Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari's rating within his country in 2011 was twice as high as the U.S. Congress current approval rating.   And this was before the New York Times shined a light on their shady dealings with pharmaceutical giant Amgen that cost the American people more than 1/2 billion dollars.

Millions of dollars spent by Amgen, who has 74 lobbyists in Washington, kissing up to members of congress has come back to them in a nice gift...with a bow.  Our trusted public servants were happy to help Amgen by delaying price restraints on a class of drugs used by kidney dialysis patients.  They inserted this paragraph into the fiscal cliff bill and, behind closed doors, approved it.  The delay will cost the Medicare program (and your tax dollars) $500 million over the next two years.

Note that Senator Max Baucus (D, Montana) and Orrin Hatch (R, Utah) supported this shady transaction.  Both senators have political and financial ties to Amgen, as does Mitch McConnell, the senate minority leader, who also influenced the deal.  These three senators received substantial contributions from Amgen's PAC, $68,000 to Baucus, $59,000 to Hatch and $73,000 to McConnell.

If this isn't enough to mimic flu symptoms, Amgen had pleaded guilty a few weeks before and agreed to pay CRIMINAL and civil penalties of $762 million, the largest fine ever for a biotech company.  You would think that would make them persona non gratis on capitol hill but no...they have friends in high places!

Amgen's CEO, Kevin Sharer's pay package is $21 million.  That doesn't include his personal use of Amgen's jet ($247,743) a car and driver and $15,000 for financial planning services.  After all, with that kind of money, you need to find lots of tax loopholes to keep it.  How a company can plead guilty to CRIMINAL activity and then get the taxpayers to pay 75% of the fine is amazing.  I guess Corporations really are "people"...special people with friends in the Senate.

The next time you wonder about the price of healthcare in this Country, think of our policymakers and how crooked and dishonest they are.  The Fiscal Cliff was a Fiscal Gift for Amgen

11 States now have More People on Welfare than they do Employed!

These 11 States now have More People on Welfare than they do Employed!

Last month, the Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2011, between food stamps, housing support, child care, Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. household below the poverty line received $168.00 a day in government support.
What’s the problem with that much support? Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to $137.13 a day.
To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30.00 an hour for a 40-hour week, while the average job pays $25.00 an hour.

This Country is on the road to a train wreck. And Congress is doing nothing about it because they want the votes from these people. Can this possibly be true too???

I had a dream last night.

There sat the dog faced John Kerry before the Senate confirmation hearings for his appointment to Secretary of State. After the Chair had praised his vast "Diplomatic Experience"... Followed by praise for his integrity, honorable service, etc. He finally turns the hearing over to the rest of the panel for questioning... and here is where my dream turned to fantasy... For in my dream... the first Republican Senator to ask a question starts like this....

Senator... you life story is a long and storied one...well known throughout the world... and the Chair has praised your integrity and diplomatic experience... I'd like to start by asking you to once again describe your famous Christmas Eve, secret mission into Cambodia ... Which I find most interesting since you weren't even in SE Asia during the Christmas time of year? Then I would like to ask... is consorting with our nations enemies part of your "Diplomatic Experience"... Like North Vietnam while we were at war? The Sandinista's while we were engaged in conflict in Central America ? The butcher Assad and Saddam Hussein in the Middle East ... and the Russians and Chinese when we were engaged in the Cold War?

And would you explain to us how you recruited your fellow "Winter Soldiers" to come and testify before Congress about atrocities committed by our American Soldiers and Marines... when most of the so called witnesses you recruited... were never even in the military or had ever gone to Vietnam? Remind us of your eye witness accounts of our Vietnam Veterans as being as ruthless as the hordes of Gangues Khan? Tell us when and where you observed that first hand Senator Kerry?

And  then I'd like to know why your citations for your Silver Stars were signed by a Secretary of the Navy... years and years after the war was over? And also, is it true as charged by eye witnesses... Your Purple Hearts were as a result of your own incompetence? Friendly fire by your own hand? These are just some of the questions I have... and should be answered before your confirmation.

And in my dream... I was cheerleading the line of questioning and thinking subconsciously... "Ask why he couldn't pass the Bar Exam... if he is so brilliant"? "Ask him why he parked his boat in Rhode Island ... Was it to avoid taxes on it in his home state"? "Ask him how he has accumulated  such grand wealth on the salary of a Senator"? "Is it true that your wealth was derived by marrying homely, if not downright ugly... rich heiresses and widows"? "And ask him why the men who served with him in Vietnam ... universally hate his guts... along with 99.9% of all Vietnam Veterans"? "Ask him if it is true that of all the men and women in the U.S. Senate... he is known to be the most egotistical of them all... only his good buddy, John McCain comes close. A man who also married well... Birds of a feather"?

And then... I woke up!  Ain't gonna happen... Politicians are gutless!

But I have to ask myself? Is this the face America wants to present to the rest of the world? A man  who has made a career of lies, falsehoods and deceit? I can think of no human being... who symbolizes the term; "Ugly American" more than John Kerry.  A liar, a phony, arrogant, piece of human dog poop if there ever was one!

Is this a man we should be proud to be hailed as a "Great American"? Can any foreign leader ever trust a single word out of this man's mouth... when it is documented that he has lied to his own countrymen... time after time after time... Is this the best we have offer? In a perfect world... this man wouldn't even be considered for "Dog Catcher"... even though he did manage to capture two in his lifetime.

He is an insult... a mortal insult... to all who have served.

Fw: makes sense

Republican & Democrat alike
When a company falls on difficult times, one of the things that seems to happen is they reduce their staff and workers. The remaining workers must find ways to continue to do a good job or risk that their job would be eliminated as well.

Wall street and the media normally congratulate the CEO for making this type of "tough decision", and the board of directors gives upper corporate management big bonuses

Our government should not be immune from similar risks.

Therefore:

Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to 218 members.

Reduce Senate members from 100 to 50(one per State). Then, reduce their remaining staff by 25%.

Accomplish this over the next 8 years (two steps/two elections) and of course this would require some redistricting.

Some Yearly Monetary Gains Include:

$44,108,400
for elimination of base pay for congress. (267 members X $165,200 pay/member/ yr.)

$437,100,000
for elimination of their staff. (Estimate $1.3 Million in staff per each member of the House, and $3 Million in staff per each member of the Senate every year)

$108,350,000
for the reduction in remaining staff by 25%.

$7,500,000,000
reduction in pork barrel earmarks each year. (Those members whose jobs are gone. Current estimates for total government pork earmarks are at $15 Billion/yr).

The remaining representatives would need to work smarter and improveefficiencies.
It might even be in their best interests to work together for the good of our country!

We may also expect that smaller committees might lead to a more efficient resolution of issues as well.
It might even be easier to keep track of what your representative is doing.

Congress has more tools available to do their jobs than it had back in 1911 when the current number of representatives was established. (Telephone, computers, cell phones to name a few)

Note:

Congress does not hesitate to head home for extended weekends, holidays and recesses, when what the nation needs is a real fix for economic problems. Also, we had 3 senators who
were not doing their jobs for the 18+ months (on the campaign trail) and still they all accepted full pay. Minnesota survived very well with only one senator for the first half of this year. These facts alone support a reduction in senators and congress.

Summary of opportunity:

$44,108,400 reduction of congress members.

$282,100,000 for elimination of the reduced house member staff.

$150,000,000 for elimination of reduced senate member staff.

$70,850,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining house members.

$37,500,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining senate members.

$7,500,000,000 reduction in pork added to bills by the reduction of congress members.

$8,084,558,400 per year, estimated total savings. (That's 8-BILLION just to start!)

Corporate America does these types of cuts all the time.
There's even a name for it.

"Downsizing."
------------------------------
Also, if Congresspersons were required to serve 20, 25 or 30 years (like everyone else) in order to collect retirement benefits, taxpayers could save a bundle.
Now they get full retirement after serving only ONE term.
----------------------------------------

IF you are happy with how Washington spends our taxes, delete this message.
Otherwise, it's time to "downsize" Congress.

I have cleaned this e-mail of all other names, By copying and pasting it, I'm sending it to you in hopes that you will keep it going and keep it clean. This is something I believe in and I hope you all read it all the way through.

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months and 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 before computers, before
e-mail, before cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land, all because of public pressure.

I'm asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

Congressional Reform Act of 2012

1. Term Limits. 12 years only, one of the possible options below.

A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C.

One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past

, present and future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
5. Congress will no longer get automatic pay raises. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/13.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Maybe it is time.

LET'S FIX CONGRESS!!!!!

This is truly pathetic.
PLEASE WATCH.  JUST A FEW MINUTES LONG.

Subject: Fw: HERE IS ONE TO TWIST YOUR TWINKIE ...................

Why did Social Security not get an increase??

HERE IS ONE TO TWIST YOUR TWINKIE -- if you don't know how to curse yet, I am certain you will after you read this one!

According to the Trustees for the Social Security Administration,

" THERE WILL NOT BE A COST OF LIVING INCREASE FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS IN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS."  ADDITIONALLY THEY WILL RAISE YOUR CO-PAY FOR YOUR RX MEDICARE BENEFITS!

They, the Congress (BOTH REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATS TOGETHER) say no increase is warranted because of the losses in gross national product and other cute things..

NOW HERE, SPORTS FANS, IS THE ONE THAT WILL FLIP YOU OUT!! --

THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION IS FUNDING TWENTY FOUR MILLION DOLLARS-- LET ME REPEAT THAT AMOUNT SO YOU UNDERSTAND IT...$24,000,000.00 DOLLARS FOR NEW ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS PROCESSING FOR OUR CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS!!

THEY ARE OBTAINING THESE FUNDS, AND  I QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM THE SOCIAL SECURITY
WEBSITE...............

"THIS MONEY WILL COME FROM THE SAVINGS TO BE GENERATED FROM WITHHOLDING  COST OF LIVING INCREASES FOR 2010 & 2011 in SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS FOR THE ELDERLY AND A $2.00 INCREASE ON ALL MEDICARE RX BENEFIT CO-PAY."

Please excuse my FRENCH, but do the words " BULL SHIT" ring a bell?

Please pass this to ALL your friends and ask them to PROTEST TO THE IDIOTS WE ELECTED TO CONGRESS who, by the way, have just voted themselves ANOTHER 3% SALARY INCREASE!!!

We must put a stop to this outright thievery!  It is THE CONGRESS AND THE SENATE, BOTH
REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATS, WE CAN'T FIRE THEM, BUT WE SURE AS HELL CAN NOT RE-ELECT THEM, and WE CAN IMPEACH THEM or DEMAND RECALL ELECTIONS!!!  HOW ABOUT WE ALL GET TOGETHER AND DUMP THESE CLOWNS?

Just watch. They will spend this money and find the software doesn't work, dump the whole thing and go back to the old steam driven system just like they did with air traffic control several years ago.  Don't worry though, they've got health care all worked out...for themselves.
..
So here is what we CAN do....
All I ask is that you consider the suggestion here.

The entire Congress of the United States is corrupt. And I mean both Houses and I both major parties.

I realize that a few members of each House are trustworthy, but, as a group they are absolutely the most corrupt bunch to ever disgrace our nation.

In November of 2010, the entire House of Representatives will stand for re-election; all 435 of them.  One third of the Senate, a total of 33 of them, will also stand for re-election.  Vote every incumbent out.  And I mean every one of them.  No matter their party affiliation.  Let's start all over in the House of Representatives with 435 people who have absolutely no experience in running that body, with no political favors owed to anyone but their own constituents.  Let's
make them understand that  they work for us...

They are answerable to us and they simply have to run that body with some common sense.

Two years later, in 2012, vote the next third of the incumbents in the Senate out.

We can do the same thing in 2014, and by that time we will have put all new people in that body as well.

We, the people, have got to take this country back and we HAVE to do it peacefully..

That's what the framers of our Constitution envisioned.

I am also suggesting term limits on the NEW BUNCH --8 YEARS FOR REPRESENTATIVES AND 12 YEARS OF SENATORS..  NO EXCEPTIONS.  THE LONGER THEY STAY IN OFFICE THE MORE POWER THEY GET.  THEY LOVE IT AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET RE-ELECTED.

WE HAVE TERM LIMITED THE PRESIDENT -- NOW LET'S TERM LIMIT THE LEGISLATORS.

Please, if you love this country, send this (as I have done) to  absolutely everyone whose email
address appears in your address book..

This thing can permeate this country in no time.  Let's make it happen.

VOTE THE POWER ABUSERS OUT........LET'S TAKE AMERICA BACK!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU LIKE THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING IN OUR COUNTRY, THEN DO NOTHING.........

No one is irreplaceable, so let's replace the elitists.

Ah, sorry to bother you Mr. Obama, Sir. . ..

Excuse me Mr. Obama, I mean President Obama, Sir. Um . . I know you're busy, and important and stuff. I mean, running the country is very important and -- ah -- I hate to bother you, Sir. I will only take a minute. Ok, Sir?

See, I have these missing pieces that are holding me up, and I was wondering, Sir, if you could take time out of your busy schedule and help me out. You know, no big deal, just some loose ends and things.

Hey, you have a nice place here! The wife sees houses like this on TV all the time and says, boy, she wishes she had digs like this, you know? Is that painting real? Really? Wow!
I saw something like that in a museum once. Oh, sorry Sir. I didn't mean to get off the track. So if you could just help me out a minute and give me some details, I will get right out of your way.

I want to close this case and maybe take the wife to Coney Island or something. Ever been to Coney Island Sir? No? I didn't think so...
Well, listen, anyway, I can't seem to get some information I need to wrap this up. These things seem to either be "Not released" or "Not available." I'm sure it's just an oversight or glitch or something, so if you could you tell me where these things are I have them written down here somewhere -- oh wait.

I'll just read it to you.
Could you please help me find these things, Sir?
1. Occidental College records -- Not released

2. Columbia College records -- Not released
3. Columbia Thesis paper -- "Not available"

4. Harvard College records -- Not released

5. Selective Service Registration -- Not released

6. Medical records -- Not released

11. Embossed, signed paper Certification of Live Birth -- Not released

12. Record of your baptism -- Not available
13. Why your wife, Michelle, can no longer practice law as an attorney? (Insurance Fraud?_
14. Why your wife has 22 assistants, when other First Ladies had one?

15. Why were you getting "foreign student aid" as a college student?

16. Which countries "passport" did you have when you visited Pakistan in 1981?

Oh and one more thing Mr. President, I can't seem to find any articles you published as editor of the Harvard Law Review, or as a Professor at the University of Chicago. Can you explain that to me, Sir?

Oh, but hey -- listen! I know you're busy! If this is too much for you right now -- I mean -- tell you what. I'll come back tomorrow. Give you some time to get these things together, you know? I mean, I know you're busy. I'll just let myself out. I'll be back tomorrow. And the day after. . ..

What's that Mr. President? Who wants to know these things?
We the People of the United States of America ! You know, the ones that vote.

Fw: When Is The Truth Going To Hit Home?

(Excerpt from Agora Financial's 5 Minute Forecast, December 21st)

We begin a new week — shortened by the onset of Christmas and liable to see little big-time market action — by stepping back and surveying the three areas of the economy in which government interference has relentlessly driven up costs across a period of decades. We’re talking about the three Hs — health care, housing and higher education.

We assume you’ve heard by now the health reform bill overcame a big procedural hurdle in the Senate around
1 a.m. Today. If you’ve been too resigned and/or disgusted to pay attention beyond that, here’s the deal…

  • The Senate version of the health bill will likely be passed this week, maybe Thursday
  • After the first of the year begins the process of “reconciling” differences between the Senate version and the House version.

So in all likelihood, a health bill of some sort will become law early next year. At that point, three things will happen — none of which the politicians on any side of the issue want to talk about…

  • For the first time in U.S. History, you’ll be required to buy a product or service from a private party as a condition of your residency in the country
  • The costs are sure to far outstrip the Senate projection of $871 billion over 10 years or the House projection of $894 billion. We remind you that when Congress brought Medicare into existence in 1965, the cost was $3 billion, and Congress projected it would reach $12 billion (adjusting for inflation) by 1990. That was off only by — oh, about an order of magnitude. The actual 1990 cost was $107 billion
  • What the Federal Reserve has done to monetary policy over the last century, a new Independent Medicare Advisory Council will do to health care. The IMAC would set the fees that Medicare pays doctors, hospitals and other providers — a job now performed by Congress. Like the Fed, the president would choose its members and the Senate would confirm them.

It’s as if the executive and legislative branches have realized what an utter botch they’ve made of health care over the decades… so now, they’re palming off the big decisions onto a Fed-like panel so the politicians won’t have to take the heat. And if Congress decides it doesn’t like what the IMAC is doing and proposes legislation to scale back its powers, no doubt its members will squawk just like the Fed about how its “independence” would be compromised.

Mark our words — this is a monster in the making.

So what about housing? Well, the Obama administration’s program that professes to help struggling homeowners has been revealed to be an utter sham.

In 10 months of existence, the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) launched 759,000 trial mortgage modifications. In theory, those three-month trials of lower payments are supposed to turn into permanent new loans. But that’s happened in only 31,382 cases — about 4% of the trials, and just a wee bit off the 75% the White House was hoping for.

Some homeowners keep up the payments but still find their applications rejected with no notice until the sheriff shows up to throw them out. How many, HAMP administrators won’t say. (Maybe they think disclosing that would compromise their “independence.”)

We suspect what’s going on here is another variation on “extend and pretend.” The number of successful modifications is so pitifully small because to make this sort of thing really work, the lender has to reduce the principal. But that means the lender has to take a hit to the balance sheet. Can’t have that now, can we?

We’ve found a unique indicator of what could be a bursting bubble in higher education — yet another sector of the economy where government meddling has driven up costs across the decades.

Short story: Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be language or literature professors.

The Modern Language Association forecasts that new faculty positions for teachers of Dreiser and deconstructionism are down 37% from 2008… and the 2008 figure was down 26% from 2007.

"Students thinking of going to graduate school in English should understand that right now their chance of landing a job that provides them a livable wage is 50-60%," the MLA’s Rosemary Feal tells The New York Times. "What I often hear from grad students is, ‘I had no clue it was this bad.’" Especially if their concentration is 20th-century American literature, where a single opening gets up to 400 applicants.

We don’t say this just to snicker at the job prospects of humanities students. (Indeed, we have a soft spot, having majored in philosophy.) Again, we suspect this is an early sign of a bursting bubble in higher education — where costs rose at an even higher clip <http://clicks.dailyreckoning.com/t/AQ/xQI/yvE/AAEb9A/AQ/AinOxg/6qth> than housing for much of the last 25 years. Like all good bubbles, it must come to an end. The 32% tuition increase at the
University of California system could be the sign of higher education’s final “blowoff rally.”

(Oh, and now they’re talking about a 1% tuition tax to help reduce the state’s budget deficit. You can’t make this stuff up.)

Fw: Fwd: Fw: arrogance of Barbara Boxer ......... Boy, this guy is "right on"

Many of us witnessed the arrogance of Barbara Boxer as she admonished a brigadier general because he addressed her as "ma'am" and not "Senator" before a Senate hearing. This letter is from a National Guard aviator and Captain for Alaska Airlines. I wonder what he would have said if he were really angry. Long fly Alaska !!!!!

Babs:
You were so right on when you scolded the general on TV for using the term, "ma'am," instead of "Senator". After all, in the military, "ma'am" is a term of respect when addressing a female of superior rank or position. The general was totally wrong. You are not a person of superior rank or position. You are a member of one of the world's most corrupt organizations, the U.S. Senate, equalled only by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congress is a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks (one who killed a staffer, yet is still revered), criminals, and other low level swine who, as individuals (not all, but many), will do anything to enhance their lives, fortunes and power, all at the expense of the People of the United States and its Constitution, in order to be continually re-elected. Many democrats even want American troops killed by releasing photographs. How many of you could honestly say, "We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor"? None? One? Two?
Your reaction to the general shows several things. First is your abysmal ignorance of all things military. Your treatment of the general shows you to be an elitist of the worst kind. When the general entered the military (as most of us who served) he wrote the government a blank check, offering his life to protect your derriere, now safely and comfortably ensconced in a 20 thousand dollar leather chair, paid for by the general's taxes. You repaid him for this by humiliating him in front of millions...

Second is your puerile character, lack of sophistication, and arrogance which borders on the hubristic. This display of brattish behavior shows you to be a virago, termagant, harridan, nag, scold or shrew, unfit for your position, regardless of the support of the unwashed, uneducated masses who have made California into the laughing stock of the nation.

What I am writing, Senator, are the same thoughts countless millions of Americans have toward Congress, but who lack the energy, ability or time to convey them. Under the democrats, some don't even have the 44 cents to buy the stamp. Regardless of their thoughts, most realize that politicians are pretty much the same, and will vote for the one who will bring home the most bacon, even if they do consider how corrupt that person is. Lord Acton (1834 - 1902) so aptly charged, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Unbeknownst to you and your colleagues, "Mr. Power" has had his way with all of you, and we are all the worse for it.

Finally Senator, I, too, have a title. It is "Right Wing Extremist Potential Terrorist Threat." It is not of my choosing, but was given to me by your Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. And you were offended by "ma'am"?

Have a fine day. Cheers!

Please circulate this to remind every voter that the "cesspools" MUST be pumped out when we go to the polls in November, 2010. Honoring and respecting the voters is a thing of the past for many of those in our congress and senate. We need to vote their arrogant, self serving asses out of office if America is to get on the long road back from the devastation that these self serving cowards have brought upon us!

BY Charles H. Spurgeon

Obama is less of a person than an image -- a brand. People see whatever they want as they do on a Rorschach test. But does anyone really know him?

In fact, he is:

* An empty suit.
* A man with no birth certificate.
* A man who was deserted in childhood by his biological
father.
* A man whose birth records, both in the United States
and Kenya, are sealed by government order.
* A man whose childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis,
spied on U.S. military installations in Hawaii for the
Soviet Union, edited a communist newspaper, authored
pornographic novels, and wrote poetry in praise of
Joseph Stalin.
* A man mentored by and still supported by radical Muslims.
* A man who promised transparency in government, but has
spent over a million dollars in legal fees hiding
information that would determine his eligibility to be
President.
* A former drug user.
* A man whose academic records are sealed from
kindergarten through law school.
* A man who arrived in New York in June of 1981 without
enough money to get a hotel room, but one month later
flew to Indonesia and Pakistan.
* Why did he go?
* Who paid his expenses?
* A man who traveled to Pakistan when it was illegal for
U.S. citizens to do so. So what country's passport did
he use?
* A man whose Law School Admission Test scores and
grades at Columbia University are known to have been
mediocre, but was admitted to Harvard Law School
through the intervention of a Saudi named Khalid
al-Mansour.
* A law review editor who never published an article in
any law review.
* A lawyer with no significant accomplishments in the
law and no reputation in the legal community.
* A former State and U.S. Senator, who never authored a
piece of legislation.
* A disciple of the Marxist Saul Alinsky.
* A product of the Chicago political machine -- the most
corrupt political organization in America.
* A man who selects Marxists, corrupt politicians and
criminals as his close political associates and
personal friends.
* A man whose presidential candidacy was endorsed by the
Democratic Socialists of America, the Socialist
International and the Workers International League.
* A man lauded for the literary brilliance of two
memoirs, both of which were ghostwritten by others.
* A so-called Christian who says that knowing when human
life begins is "above his pay-grade," but somehow
knows that abortion is permissible at any stage.
* A man who thinks "waterboarding" is immoral, but that
partial-birth abortion is moral.
* A man who publicly laments slavery in America -- which
was abolished 150 years ago -- but praises Islam,
which still practices both slavery and the sexual
mutilation of young girls.
* A man who speaks endlessly about helping the less
fortunate, but gives almost none of his sizeable
income to charity -- not even to his half-brother, who
is living in squalor in Kenya.
* A man who had the most left-wing voting record in the
United State Senate, but was predicted by the press to
"govern from the middle."
* A man who has never created a job, met a payroll, or
even operated a lemonade stand, but wants to tell
Detroit how to make cars.
* A President who has never before served as an
executive in either the private or the public sector.
* A Commander-in-Chief who doesn't know how to shoot a
rifle, throw a hand-grenade, drive a tank, fly a plane
or con a ship.
* A Commander-in-Chief who has publicly divulged some of
our nation's most important intelligence secrets.
* A man who has been put in charge of the largest
economic engine that ever existed, but has never
invested in the stock market and admits total
ignorance of it.
* A President who says that science will guide his
administration, but has no education in the sciences.
* A man who is proficient in reading what is written for
him on a teleprompter, but jerks and stammers his way
through any off-the-cuff speaking.
* A man whose health records are sealed from childhood
to the present day.
* A man whose educational records are sealed from
childhood through law school.
* A man who spent 20 years in a church whose pastor
espouses Marxist Liberation Theology,
anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Semitism,
but claims he never heard his pastor utter
anti-American and anti-Semitic statements.
* A man who added more to the National Debt in 100 days
than all other Presidents did in the past 220 years,
yet feels qualified to lecture Americans about "fiscal
responsibility".
* A man who publicly expressed disdain for the U.S.
Constitution on a Chicago radio station because it limited
the government's ability to "redistribute wealth."
* The first American President to bow before a foreign
head of state -- a Muslim dictator.
* A man who sits and listens submissively while his
country is castigated by Daniel Ortega -- a Communist
thug whose own daughter accused him of raping her.
* A narcissist who gave the Queen of England a present
from the United States -- an iPod containing
recordings of his own speeches.
* A man, who wanted Americans to ignore his Muslim name
during his election campaign, yet boasts of his Muslim
name when he travels to Muslim countries.
* A man who can name hundreds of America's shortcomings,
yet none of its great accomplishments.
* A President who claims the moral high ground by
closing Gitmo yet supports the transfer of terror
suspects to countries where horrific torture is certain.
* A President who scoffed at being called a socialist
yet acted to nationalize the auto industry, the
banking industry, and the insurance industry . . . and
now seeks to nationalize the healthcare industry.
* A President who violates private property rights, the
sanctity of contracts, and the rule of law -- three
essential principles that go back over a thousand
years in the Common Law tradition.
* A man who promised 95% of all Americans a tax cut, but
is increasing taxes on 100% of the population through
inflation -- the cruelest tax of all.
* A lawyer who represented ACORN -- an organization now
indicted in several states for voter fraud -- whose
stated goal is to get as many people on welfare as
possible in order to destroy our financial system.
* A President who cheated GM's bondholders by giving
their property to the UAW in a political payoff.
* An American President who frequently criticizes his
own country when speaking in foreign countries, but
never praises America's generosity, goodness or
greatness.
* A President whose Secretary of the Treasury cheated on
his taxes -- as did several other appointees and
advisors.
* A President who, despite the current federal debt of
100 trillion dollars, wants to add the greatest debt
ever by nationalizing healthcare.
* A President who scoffs at being called a socialist,
yet has appointed 28 "Czars" to circumvent
constitutional government, including:
* A "Science Czar" who has advocated compulsory
abortions for American women and the "surrender of
sovereignty" to a "comprehensive Planetary Regime."
* A self-professed communist as his "Green Jobs Czar."
* A "Pay Czar" to regulate the pay of corporate executives.
* A President who swore an oath to "preserve, protect
and defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign
and domestic," yet has nominated a domestic enemy of
the Constitution to the Supreme Court.
* A President whose Homeland Security Chief classified
pro-lifers, veterans, and supporters of traditional
marriage as terrorists.
* A President who stood silent while the Iranian
government hacked unarmed protestors to death with
axes, because it was an internal matter, but freely
offers his opinions about the internal affairs of
Israel and Honduras.
* A President who decreed that true acts of terrorism
must now be described as "man-made disasters."
* A President who cracks hurtful jokes about Special
Olympians.
* A President who refused to intercept or inspect a
North Korean ship virtually certain to be carrying
Weapons of Mass Destruction to Burma.
* A President who wants to cancel all missile defenses
while rogue nations are developing long-range
ballistic missiles.
* An American President who blames the violence in
Mexico on America.
* A Commander in Chief who claims to have been unaware
that Air Force One was taken on a terrifying,
low-level photo-op over Manhattan.
* A President who berates American CEO's for flying in
private planes at private expense on company business,
but whose wife spends hundreds of thousands of tax
payer dollars flying to Paris for a shopping spree.
* A President who promised a transparent administration,
but requires all questions be screened before
"impromptu" appearances.
* A man who freely admitted that his energy policies are
designed to bankrupt the American coal industry.
* A President who has presided over the loss of 14.7
million jobs and whose "energy policy" will cause the
loss of another 1 million jobs.
* A President whose "energy policy" will increase the
average American's utility bills by over $2,000 a year
in the middle of the Great Recession.
* A man about whom liberal journalist Tom Brokaw said,
"There's a lot about him we don't know." . . . just
one week before the election.

The vast majority of Americans do not know who he is, but someone surely does. Someone paid for his travel expenses to Pakistan and Indonesia. Someone engineered legal challenges to all of his election opponents for the State Senate and had them disqualified. Someone straightened and leveled his path to the U.S. Senate when a Democrat Judge made public the child custody records of his Republican opponent. When he was a candidate for the U.S. Senate, someone arranged for him to speak at the 2004 Democrat National Convention.

Someone saw to it that all of his records were sealed, both at home and abroad. Someone assembled the massive organization for his run for the Presidency. Someone knows all about him.

Who?
