Eat 'em Up...

Issa says, Kaya!

It took me awhile to finally make a boy page using laces... I was asking myself kung KAYA ko ito? Thinking how easy for Timi to play with it, I convinced myself to try it too and here's what I got...

Here's a page about Luigi celebrating his 16th birthday with an Eat-all-you-Can blast! It was a 2-hour drive from Los Banos to EDSA, and he was imagining his craving for his favorite Tonkatsu and Halo-halo... only to find out that he was disappointed! No, the food at Triple V was really great, but my son doesn't know the technique in eating on a buffet. So he ended up hating the Eat-all-you-Can thing... ang siba kasi, hahaha!

Journaling: It's Luig's 16th birthday! We celebrated it at Triple V's Kamayan, Dad's and Saisaki last September 19, 2009. It was his first time to go "Eat-all-You-Can" and he was disappointed! He gave up EATING for that day ONLY!

Materials: Fancy Pants About a Boy pps (Chillin' and Rockin'), cardstocks, Daisy D's Family rubons, AC Thickers puffy letter stickers, buttons, DMC thread, Fancy Pants felt arrow, Colorbox gold ink and fluid chalk ink, ticket sticker, Ranger Glossy Accents, MM acrylic paint, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist and 3 laces colors moss green, cream and blue.

Techniques Used: hand cutting, stamping and painting. The 2 techniques for the lace were knotting and putting them on the paper edges.

Our Specialty

Issa says, Kaya!

My family is into food business since I was in highschool. My Mom started baking brownies, banana cakes and cheese cakes, and we all help her pack and deliver them to stores and canteens. After some time, she ventured on cooking pasta and meat dishes. We have specialty dishes like her sweet and sour fish fillet, baked spaghetti, my Dad's favorite morcon, pansit bihon with chicharon toppings, pansit bam-i and palabok. But what made her successful is her fresh Lumpiang Ubod with egg wrapper...

Journaling: 25 years ago, my Mom started a small pastry business, her "GCA Brownies" was known in the little town of Los Banos. Now, she ventured on cooking... her first love and hobby! Her Lumpiang Ubod came a long way and now it's her specialty... (so sorry guys! Mom requested me not to upload the recipe.)

Materials Used: Fancy Pants Aged Florals-Lavish pps, We R Memory Keeper Urban Window CollectionRestoration Drapery pps, foam flowers, Ytet's flowers, satin leaves, brown lace and ribbons, staple wires, safety pins, Colorbox fluid chalk inks, glittered glue, green glimmer mist, DMC thread and Colorbok alphabet stickers.

Techniques used: paper distressing and inking, hand cutting and sewing.

Beginning Today...

Issa says, KAYA!

Oh here I am again, making a layout about myself! I cannot resist to scrap my FB profile photo, thanks to my cousin Ronald for this hocus-focus shot last month. I have a design layout in mind but I just don't have a title for this one. Timi and Yvette thought about the title "Beginning Today" because of my new shift in life and career (kuno!) and that I must continue to grow and find peace in whatever I want to do. Tama nga naman and so here's my layout...

Journalling: In a time of new beginnings, continue to grow, to dream, and to make new memories. Whatever gives you peace within yourself will allow you to see the special person you truly are... just copied this quote from a Blue Mountain book.

Materials: Spanish Soccer pps, Prima Urban Cosmo pps, cardstocks, Prima artistry flowers, foam flowers, silk leaves, Hambly transparency, glittered glue, corrogated board, Basic Grey Wilma chiboard letters, AC Thickers foam letters, Ranger glossy accents and distressed ink-antique linen, MM acrylic paint-evergreen.

Technique Used: Painting and Masking, I masked 2 flowers on the upper left corner and the other one on the lower right corner.

Non-Stop FUN!

Issa says, Kaya!

Most of my works focused on my kids and my family, seldom do I make something for myself. After my Bohol trip, I began to enjoy creating "All About ME" themes and it made me love myself more... hehehe! Thanks to Roxanne's Kaya Challenge, this could add up to my own pages.

THING?! I can only think of my scrapbook stash when you ask me about inanimate things that are important to me right now... but I guess it has to be something else other than my bisyo. I came up with these two things that have been my constant companion and pacifier... my Non-Stop Cellphone and MP3 player!

Journaling... in good times and bad times... These two important gadgets never fail me! My Nokia N79 cellphone keeps me connected in just anywhere that I go and my Creative Zen MP3 player keeps me company with my music in just any mood that I have... July 2009.

Materials Used: Basic Grey pps -Lucky/Sweet Lavender, Aged and Confused/ Phresh and Phunky Phoilage and checkered, MM music note Falala pps, K&Co lace cardstock letters, DCWV cardstock, Heidi Swapp chipboard clock face, Scenic Route chipboard, AAS brads, glittered glue, MM acrylic paint-brown, Ranger glossy accents, Marcellas metal accents, Colorbox chalk ink and for the different fonts of the title... Craft Express, Heidi Swapp and AC Thickers chipboard letters.

Techiques Used: Paper tearing , inking and distressing ( my favorite thing to do!), Paper piecing for the round flowers (muka bang flowers yong round things ko?), cutting and painting. I painted the different kinds of font to get a uniform look on the title.

Here's a photo of me using my cousin Ronald's heavy and loaded digicam... my EOS 350D came from him and he replaced it with this sweet baby EOS 40D. Now, I shouldn't be missing anything, everything needs to be captured... hahaha!

Journaling: Eversince I got hold of this baby, I promised to myself never to miss life's little treasures. Thanks to my cousin Ronald for his Cannon EOS 350D hand-me-down cam, now I never miss a thing in my life.

Issa says, KAYA!

It's great to be back here at Pinoy's Scrapbookers' Kaya challenge! I always wanted to scrap using a favorite song and so here's my greatest chance, right?! I made this layout for my favorite nephew David Kharl "Baby DK" and the song "Isn't She Lovely" fits perfectly for his photo. I just need to change the word SHE, sorry for that. So part of the song goes...

Isn't he lovely?
Isn't he wonderful?
Isn't he Precious?
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
Through us He's given life to one
But isn't he lovely made from above...

Issa says, Kaya!

Kaya ko ba ang 2-pager layout? I think this is my 3rd attempt to create a 2-pager layout and I must say it's still a new thing for me since I don't do this very often and now, I am starting to enjoy it. I was able to scrap my Idol 2 moments, I want to do it so everytime I will visit my pages I will remember all the experiences and "nerbyos factor" of the Scrappin' Moms' Idol. I had a hard time putting the colors together, I just hope I did justice to this week's challenge of Marj... here goes!

Journaling: it was another season of the Scrappin' Moms' Idol... I joined again for the primary reason of supporting the Moms and secondly, to learn more techniques and gain more knowledge. Again, I made it to the Top 10 and unexpectedly, joined Donna Espiritu and Cookie Aguilar for the Top 3 scrappers. Making it to the Top 3 was my greatest achievement in this Idol Challenge. My good friend Cookie was crowned "the Idol II". It was another experience which I learned so much...as in!

To Luigi, my 14 year old son, to be opened on your High School Graduation Day

Issa says, KAYA!

(Letter)

(Details)

Journaling (Hidden Letter)
Dear Luigi,

Congratulations Luigi! Your Daddy and I are so proud of you son! As you graduate from high school today, I can't help but say that my little boy is now a grown up man.

I can still recall your preschool years. Your naughty ways that threatened your classmates and teachers because of your famous line, "Gusto mo, pasabugin ko itong school?" On your first year in school, you were awarded "Most Active Student". You were undoubtedly really active and playful just like any boy your age. After your first two years in preschool, your teacher told me that you to have dyslexia because you read and wrote in a backward manner, only to find out that they had just misjudged you. You were in the honor roll from Grades 1 to 3 and that made us really proud.

I wanted you to enjoy every moment of your highschool life, experience your first crush and heartbreak, go out with your friends and enjoy a little freedom. High school indeed is the best part of your school years. It prepares you for a higher level of wisdom and knowledge, while enjoying the moments of growing up and maturing from being a child to a teener.

Now as you close another chapter of your youthful life, you are about to enter another one - College! When you were still small, you always admired your Ninong Louie-- his life, his job and even his cars. I told you to study hard so that someday you will be like your Ninong. That was so easy for me say because you were just a little child. But now that you are entering college, I want you to go back to your dreams and start building them now. You will be needing a lot of patience, hard work, maturity and discipline. Whatever field you wish to take, your Daddy and I will be behind you, with all the support and prayers we can give you for those dreams to come true someday.

I believe in you Kuya, set a good example to your little brother Enzo and make our family proud of you. Love you Luigi!

Goodluck and God bless you always,
Mommy
