You Light Up My Life

Ching says, KAYA!

Maybe most of you are not familiar with this song. It’s a ballad written by Jo Brooks and featured in a movie of the same name. It became the most successful single of the 1970’s in USA. Many famous singers have covered this song since 1977. Johnny Mathis recorded the song the following year and LeAnn Rimes released her version as a single in 1997.
It is a beautiful song, beautifully sung ! HERE

I chose this song “You Light Up My Life” because of the meaningful title. I remember way back dreaming of having a family. Now that I realized that dream, I thank God everyday for the good life that I now have. I have two loving guys who brighten my life! They’re the light of my life!

Journaling:
So many nights I sit by my window
Waiting for someone to sing me his song
So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now
You've come along
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days and
fill my nights with song
It can’t be wrong
When it feels so right
‘Cause you …
You Light Up My Life

I Love You...[It's Easy for Me to Say]

Marissa says, Kaya!

I chose 2 songs to stitch together in this LO. I love Kool and the Gang’s Cherish, especially the part: Let’s cherish every moment we have been given, the time is passing by… This just says it all – and I want us to grab each moment, enjoy it, love it, live it, and never take it for granted.

The other song is Clint Black/Hayden Nicholas’ It’s Easy for Me to Say. I love the lyrics. Should DH, DS, and DD chance to see this blog, may this let them know that I love them more every day. I say I love you before going to bed, after every phone conversation, any time for no reason at all. Often it seems the phrase has lost its impact because it has become something we’re all used to. Parang bukang-bibig na lang. I want to remind them through this layout that even if I don’t get to say “I love you” often enough, the littlest gestures, a smile, a laugh, a subtle touch [as they walk by me in the hall, in the kitchen or anywhere else], a hug, a kiss, a back rub, a foot massage, an expression of concern or interest on how their day went by, saying “ingat” whenever they have to go somewhere, and nagging them make their doctor appointments, are a few of the million ways I say “I love you”. It’s so simple…and it’s so easy for me to say.

Journaling:

Cherish

Let’s cherish every moment we have been given, the time is passing by…
The world is always changing nothing stays the same, but love will stand the test of time… cherish the love we have, cherish the life we live, cherish…

Easy for me to say

Some won't find the words; more won't find a way. Never too often heard you know it's easy for me to say. The thing you need to hear, way more than every day, can never be too clear you know it's easy for me to say, I love you. Quiet, and loud, alone, [or] in a crowd, I love you. In a thousand little ways I'm learning to say and I learn something new every day. I love you, it's easy for me to say.It always sounds the same music to my ears, leaves nothing to explain, you know it's easy for me to hear the phrase that we all know, nothing it can't outweigh. Take it wherever we go, you know it's easy for me to say, I love you…no poet ever found a better way. You know it's easy for me to say, I love you. I'll try to say it more every day. You know it's easy for me to say.

The challenger was also challenged!
It is my first time to use a lot of stitching, so I really challenged myself, too! The stitching looks complicated, but it's not really, once I tried it. Find out how I did my LO here.

Kaya 22 - Stitch Me A Song

It’s February…and you know it! Love is in the air, love is everywhere…and this month’s challenge is all about that. So whatever or whoever your love may be, I challenge you to make a layout about your love and a song [you can combine up to 3 songs] associated to your love using the following requirements:

1) Type & Size - traditional 12x12 or 8.5x11
2) Title - use song title or a favorite phrase from the song(s) you choose
3) Journaling - use the entire song or part(s) of the song(s) you like best because it's/they're the most meaningful to you.
4) Please use a new layout specifically made for this challenge. After all, I’m sure your goal for this year is to make as many layouts as you can!
5) Use of stitches – hand or machine made [nope, no drawings or rub-ons, please] and must be a very visible part of the layout.
6) In your post, briefly describe why you chose that song/s. You may also want to add a link as to where we can listen for your song/s [some of us might not be familiar with the songs you choose].

I know the 5th one might be a killer because real stitching takes a LOT of time, but hey, look at it this way… if you finish one, you have in your possession a unique layout using the technique of stitching. Who knows, you might love it and make it your own style! Don’t fret, I, too, was challenged!

Since I am also a digital scrapper, I don't want digital scrapbookers to miss out on this one! Therefore, Digi-PS Members, I am also challenging you to join. Same requirements [except for the real stitches, of course, of course].

Deadline for this challenge is February 28, 2009 12:00 midnight Philippine Time. One lucky traditional and digital scrapbooker will be randomly picked by draw. Traditional scrapbooker will get these yummy scrapbooking items:

For the winner of the digital layout I am looking into purchasing a prize from one of my favorite digital on-line stores. Visit this part of the blog again for updates. Thank you.

You may submit as many LOs as you wish, although you will only be entered once (for each category) in the drawing.

O, ano? KAYA nyo ba? Sige nga... tingnan naming lahat kung KAYA ninyo...!
