Kaya 12 Pick of the Crop

Thank you once again to everyone who joined the challenge. I am so impressed and inspired by all your layouts. You made me laugh, tear up, smile and relate to your stories. Truly all these LOs are made and written with love.

To draw the name of the Pick of the Month, I requested the assistance of my lovely, if I do say so myself, daughters. So far, my letter has been safe from them. Their curiosity has waned as they are now into other things.

Congratulations to the winner! You get a Stazon ink pad and MM acrylic paints from Marj Velarde and MM papers and journaling cards from me.

Kaya 9 Winners

Whew! The voting was tough, wasn't it ladies? The layouts are all gorgeous and we only have to vote for ONE layout of each category? Life ain't fair, I tell you! :-)

Before we check out this love month's challenge, our warm congratulations to the two winners of this month's challenge, each for Traditional & Digital, Lee & Kaje respectively.

I am personally amazed by the turnout and the quality of work everyone has put into their layouts. I am grateful for the opportunity and am happy for the winners.

Good things never last, as the song goes and so I would like to take this opportunity to say goodbye as a member of the Kaya challenge blog. I will still try to answer the "Kayang-kaya Kaya?" challenge but that would be on my own time. My Kaya journey ends here and so, thanks to all and to all a good night!

Kaya 8 Winner

Happy New Year!

Thanks to everyone who joined the Christmas Card Challenge. I've been told that many of you found Val's card sketch an inspiration, and look what you all came up with. (Thank you, Val.) It is truly heart-warming to see good wishes and warm greetings in a card with photos of your families. That was the best, I think, seeing all of you with your families. Got to know you all a little bit more.

But I have to announce the winners for this challenge. Or winner, as the case may be.

The most number of cards made following the sketch is, of course, Zabeth Tan (as if you didn't know.) She made 50 cards to giveaway to family and friends.

And I guess, all those cards generated such goodwill, that Zabeth gathered 52 votes for the card you would be most happy to receive.

So that makes Zabeth the sole winner of this month's challenge.

Our prizes are courtesy of PS member, Marian King. Marian is a prolific scrapper with a simple and elegant style. She also has a big heart. As part of her birthday RAKs (she celebrated her birthday last December 8) she is giving sets of patterned papers, a template, a mini-album, felts, and die-cut letters to Zabeth. Many thanks again, Marian.

I have to say that at the beginning of each challenge, we are never sure if there will be prizes (no big deal cause the finished LO is our reward, right?). But so far, many generous individuals have volunteered to sponsor prizes, some quite unexpected. Much appreciated, guys, thanks so much.

Watch out for our year-opener. Can it be our new year's resolution to join all the Kaya! challenges? (wink-wink).

KAYA 7 WINNERS

First of all, I'd like to salute all the ladies who bravely met this month's Kaya 7 challenge. You are all so talented and I am even more impressed with the creativity of this group. Ang gagaling nyo lahat!

Now, for the winners of this month's challenge. I am proud to announce that the winner for our digital layout is JOYLEEN LIM garnering 35 votes out of 71. It is amazing how Joy was able to almost duplicate her source of inspiration. Being a gamer, herself, I can imagine why she is so inspired by it. Great job, sistah :D

As for the traditional layout, the winner is none other than MARIX MARTE garnering 62 votes out of 181. Talk about that spark of inspiration. This one surely started a wild-fire! Truly well-deserved, indeed :D

CONGRATULATION, ladies. Now, the winners for this month's challenge are each receiving an identical package fresh from my scrap stash (pps, cs, chipboards & rub-ons). Au Lim has also generously added the complementing Queen & Co acrylic flowers and fibers to match the pps.

Besides these prizes, the two lucky winners are also getting a scrapbooking magazine of their choice from two wonderful ladies. THANK YOU Leirs Pagaspas for your special gift to Marix (Creative Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, Scrapbook, Etc., or Memory Makers). Also, to Julie Kelly for adding to Joyleen's prize any digital or special issue digital magazine. Both magazines may be redeemed anytime from Bookoto.

Thank you for joining and see you all on our next challenge.

Kaya Four Favorite Layout

It was a dark and stormy night... like this one, when I had to make sure to be positioned at the computer just to share this happy news.

Come on down, Jenn Valmonte! Your layout, "Full Circle", is the Favorite Traditional Layout for the month of August!

Jenn is the sweetest person and is such a talented scrapper to boot. Head on over to her blog to find out the juicy and behind-the-scene details on how she did this amazing layout. Yep, Jenn, you are one talented scrapper and as a token of my appreciation for being this month's favorite, you get these goodies:

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in this month's challenge! You all amazed us with your talent and creativity. You all prove that no matter what the challenge, Kayang-Kaya talaga!

Special mention goes to Marj Velarde and her layout, "What Took You So Long?" It was a really close fight and it was exciting to see who would finally cross the finish line first. For a first entry to a challenge, you really wowed us and amazed us with your talent.

Watch out for next month's challenge which will be brought to you by one incredible scrapper too. P.S. Do ask her for her secrets too so as to get an edge on the next challenge. Haha.

Congratulations to the May Kaya Challenge Favorites!

To all who took on the very first Kaya challenge, a million thanks! To all who faithfully awaited and took time to view the Kaya posts, then voted and supported their favorites, our heartfelt appreciation to you as well. Since this is also the debut of the Pinoyscrapbookers Challenge Blog, it is especially meaningful for myself and all involved in it and contributed their skill, thoughts and time to put it all together. Special thanks to PS Mod Lee who initiated this blog and works very hard to administer to it. Our challenge is all in the spirit of fun and is meant to push us to put to good use our accumulating stash and flex our creative muscles. To this end, I think we have accomplished our goal.

Now, to officially declare the favorites of our First Kaya Challenge: Congratulations to Ella Go for her entry Bottoms Up as the most popular Traditional LO. Congratulations also to Marissa for her entry Will Scrap for Chocolates as the most popular Digital LO.

We originally did not intend for the challenge to have prizes since we agreed that “a finished LO is the best reward”. However, some kindhearted and generous people (ahem! :-D) have volunteered to give goodies for the winners during the previous EB so now we have a little something for our very first challenge favorites.

Again, our thanks to all the participants who answered a resounding KAYA! Watch out soon for June’s Kaya challenge callout! It promises to be very challenging indeed.
