Special Symbol

Khei says, KAYA

I was totally clueless on challenge #2... Not that I don't know how to make a layout on negative or white space but I had a hard time to do a beautiful yet simple layout applying it. I decided to scrap a photo of my gift for my Hunei on our engagement anniversary next month. (You can view the post in my blog here) I wanted to focus the be on my photo so I used a black background, inked the edges and just add the title.

You

All I kept thinking was an LO on girls... but my daughter isn't born yet! So, I decided to make a boy layout that used a girly element. I'm not sure if I succeeded but at least I tried.*wink*

To HUN, aged 23, to be read on our 7th year together

Khei says, KAYA!

Hidden Journaling:
Hunei,
I love you forever and I kept on believing that someday I will be able to love you more as time goes by. I don't know what to say, because I have a lot. If you ever feel the same as I do, then I would be completely glad for the both of us. Nothing can change my love for you and I will always be the love of your life ... forever. I kept on believing.

I will always put a special spot of you in my heart. No matter where I go, I carry you in me.

I wanted to tell you today how good I feel about us and our future. I enjoyed being with you. It seems that everything we do is even more meaningful because it isn't just for today ... it's for always. You make me feel really happy, and I'll always love making you feel special too.

I'm glad that I can count on you to be there when I need someone to understand, to encourage, reassuring me and I hope you realize you can always count on me too. We share so much of our lives, but it's nice to know that we can still go our own ways now and then and somehow, the more we grow as individuals, the closer we become.

I'm so satisfied with all we have together, and I'm sure that those feelings will last ... that I'll cherish you through a lifetime of beautiful tomorrows. I want you to know how pleased I am to be a part of your life, how much it means to me to know I'll always be in love with you and only you!

My love, my life, my dreams, this is what you mean to me. For seven years now, you have been the motivation behind every breath I take. My whole life ruled by thoughts of you - of us.

The day that I met you was the day my life and thoughts on relationships changed forever. To fall in love with a man who I can just be myself with, who brings out a part of me that I always knew existed but could never find, is just the most amazing feeling I could ever have. The feelings and emotions that you are able to evoke from me are for you alone - a part of me that I want you to have, something that no one else in my life has ever received before.

I have so much to thank you for, so much more yet to give you, so many moments of my life yet to savor with you beside me. You are my love; to me, you ARE love. Hunei, I love you, more than I could ever impart to you with words.

Our 7th anniversary comes with my humble commitment to serve you for life. To give you the joy of a relationship that lets you be yourself, because I know and identify with the human being in you. Sure I don't claim to understand everything that you care about as best as you do, but I will always strive to listen with my heart and reach out for the emotionally complex being in you, to understand how best my life can serve yours and support you fulfilling the purpose for which your life is meant. On our 7th year and beyond, it is with my life and with the life that we hope to create together that I say I love you. By seeking your hand to build a family and pass on the gift of life to our kids ... I say I love you in life and beyond, for eternity. I wish a blissful 7th anniversary and many more to a selfless man with so much integrity and grace and worthy of the true gift of love. I love you, I always will.

Celebrate Love

Khei says, KAYA!

As I was thinking about my Sweet Inspiration for Kaya 7, I came across my son’s RBW flashcards that I used to develop his visual activity when he was a baby. The colors caught my curiosity and attention. Why did babies see only these colors when they are just starting to take notice of their surroundings? For me, the colors also complement each other and they stand out. It’s also very versatile. In fashion, you can use these colors for glamour or for ‘punks’. So here’s my interpretation of the Red, Black, White color scheme.

Journaling:
Another year has gone by since I fell in love with you. Another year of being so true. This has been the best year of all other years and it’s been six years and we’re still here. We’ve been through many ups and downs but we remained strong and made it through the odds. Love kept us together. I only pray that God may grant me more years to love you, cherish you and serve you. I love you so much.

Be

Khei says, KAYA!, again.

(Thanks Khei for your understanding and for being game. - Mods)

Journaling:
Be kind, be happy, be inquisitive, be bold, be strong, be sensitive, be loving, be caring, be brave, be you
Materials:
Bazzill dark blue and cream cardstock, Sterling scrapbook papers, blue pen, glue, scissors, green Faber Castel highlighter, black marker

Technique used:
All are hand cut. I mat the photo on a yellow CS then handwrite the poem. I cut s strip of light blue CS and doodled circles to make it look like a patterned paper. I then cutted another strip using a cream CS and cut strips of green, yellow, red and blue CS to make it look like a patterned paper. I drew 6 circles of the 3 each of the same size in a yellow, red and green. The smaller circles I drew 4 small circles in the center to make it look like buttons. I then cut a big circle on a red CS and drew running stitch around it and wrote Andrei and the date using a blue pen. I used a green highlighter to write the title on a green CS and used a black marker to outline it.

You Are My I Love You

Khei says, KAYA!

Journaling:
You Are My I Love You (Poem by Maryann K. Cusimano)

I am your parent, you are my child. I am your quiet place, you are my wild. I am your calm face, you are my giggle. I am your wait, you are my wiggle. I am your finish line, you are my race. I am your praying hands, you are my saving grace. I am your lullaby, you are my peekaboo. I am your goodnight kiss, you are my I love you.

Materials Used:
Puncher, scissors, cardstock (Bazzil, Sterling scrapbook paper), glue, Pilot ballpoint pen, black marker

Techniques:
I traced a paisley using a pattern that I have and handcut it. I punched circles using different colors of cardstock strips and pasted it on a paisley. I cut thin strips of different colors of cardstock and pasted it on another paisley. I used tearing technique for the yellow background. I used a blue CS strip that I punched and use it as a boarder for the photo. I also hand-cut different sizes of circles. I used a regular Pilot pen for the journaling.
