Holiday Hugs from The Lims

Au says, Kaya!

Hi all! According sa kasabihan: huli man daw at magaling...late pa rin...hehehe...

But i really love this sketch, especially since this gave me a great excuse/motivation to finally drag my family to a studio and get that long overdue family picture. Yes guys, to a studio no less and why not, since this is our first ever! I've been bugging hubby to for us to do a sit-down family picture at a studio year after year but it never materialized till now--20 years into our marriage. So you can see here now my kids almost all grown up, from my 19-year-old down to my 2-year-old. It was just really unfortunate that the studio shots couldn't be ready till January 4. Luckily, i had my own camera in my bag and the photographer agreed to take some shots with it. Wonderful Christmas indeed. I hope you peeps had a great one too!

About Me:
The closing year has really been a challenging yet rewarding one for me both in scrapbooking and in everything else in my life. I am so thankful for all the blessings we had and friendships I made. Hopefully, the coming year will be just as great, maybe it will be even better. And I wish for everyone to be just as lucky and blessed. What is probably important to remember in this regard is that everything is simply a matter of perspective.

Happy Holidays from Lee

Lee says, KAYA!

Well, I really thought that with Val's wonderful sketch and all the scrapbooking supplies at my disposal, making a Christmas card would be a breeze. Unfortunately, I didn't consider the fact that we only get photos of the whole family together on Christmas eve. (I have to do something about that.) So I had to wait until after the celebrations to finally be able to print a photo and scrap...errr...card(?) it. This card is going to my college roommate whom I haven't seen in years. Coincidentally, she sent us an email asking for traditional Christmas cards as opposed to those electronic cards we get in the internet. I think she will like this handmade card.

I hope you all had a meaningful Christmas and our best wishes to the coming year. Joy and peace to the world!

Materials Used:
Green cardstock, Chatterbox PPS, American Crafts PPS, Prisma and Martha Stewart glitters, Brilliance inks, Karen Foster stamps, UHU and Zig adhesives.

About ME:
I can't believe it's almost the end of the year already and I still haven't scrapped so much as shopped. I am not making any promises but this new year I hope to change all that. Shop less, scrap more. That's the new motto. (Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.) If you want to lnow more about my scrapbooking vision and mission, read the Scrapbytes article here. You will be the witnesses whether I will be able to do it. :-)

Beth's Holiday Greetings

My first attempts at card making….

Materials Used:

CSs, PPs, glitters, gold embossing powder, rickrack/yarn/cord/strings, alpha stickers, rubber and foam stamps, inkpads, Pebeo Touch – Glitter, eyelets, Bic Marking Ultra Fine Point - black

About ME:
I’ve had a purely retail professional experience of more than 20 years before I stopped working March of 2006. So far, I have not considered going back to work as I’m enjoying my new role as stay-at-home wife to Raffy and mom to Erika (9). I graduated from UP Diliman with a degree in BS Industrial Engineering. I discovered about scrapbooking only through the internet. I used to be involved in cross stitching and candlemaking before I learned about this craft. I began collecting scrapbooking supplies and tools late 2006 but only started making layouts early this year. I used to wonder why scrappers would still subscribe to expensive scrapbooking magazines when there are a lot of materials in the web. I found the answer to this question after I bought my first magazine, the Top 10 issue of CK. I also enjoy shopping for patterned papers but would rather look at them than use them. Scrapbooking relaxes me. It also complements my love for taking photos of everything.

About ME:
Hello, I'm Candy Bonoan-Lagazon, Montessori teacher, wife to Arn, and mother to Galo, my 3 year old son. Aside from teaching, I love arts and crafts, drawing, painting, singing, playing the piano, and tracing my Bonoan Family Tree. I've been scrapping for 3 years ever since my son's birth, but only joined scrapping forums this August. I'm learning more about this craft in the last 3 months just by hanging around other scrappers than I'v e ever done scrapping alone. Scrapping is the ultimate art release for me as it combines materials I love and techniques I've learned over the years. Lately, I'm challenged to combine my love for scrapping and for genealogy by coming up with LOs using old photos of my relatives.

VILLACARLOS family

Christine says, KAYA!

I was pretty much done with my holiday cards in October, but I decided to give this challenge a try as I've never done a card with a photo before. It was fun but doubly challenging for me as I had to do it miles away from my beloved supplies, with only a hazy idea of what I wanted to do. The family and I left for Bacolod 3 days ago and I only managed to bring with me the photo I wanted to use, a cardstock, 1 set of stamps and a couple of ink pads. I forgot to bring an acrylic block so I had to use the cover of my ink pad to mount my stamps on, HAHA!!! The addition of patterned papers to my card was an after-thought. Luckily, I took some with me as I was thinking about doing a mini album while I'm on vacation =)

Sentiment:
Season's Greetings

Materials Used:
Cardstock, Patterned Papers (from a stack, from SE-PS Christmas party winnings), Inque Boutique stamps, Versa and Colorbox ink pads, Zig marker

Techniques Used:
stamping, cutwork

About ME:
Married, with 2 kids - DD 7 and DS 4, part-time lecturer on restaurant operations. I have been scrapping on and off since 1984 using non-archival safe products (because I thought the acid-free stuff around that time looked cheesy, haha). I converted to the "other side" in 2006 when I saw gorgeous acid-free papers and other supplies. I've also dabbled in other crafts such as cross-stitching and candle-making.
