Culture of Corruption

Can you imagine if this was a Republican issue?

They'd be linking it to Russia.

//Andrew McCabe, the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations who aided the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server, did not report his wife Jill's salary or campaign donations in financial disclosure forms. McCabe's forms were filed with the Office of Government Ethics, and were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act, according to Fox News.

The Washington Free Beacon reported on Nov. 7, 2016 that Hillary Clinton bundlers and Clinton ally Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe were major donors to Jill McCabe's Virginia state senate campaign.

The donations from Clinton bundlers and McAuliffe's political action committee totaled nearly $600,000; however, none of these donations appeared on the 2015 "Executive Branch Personnel Financial Disclosure Report" filed by McCabe.//

This is fascinating and disturbing.

What this FiveThirtyEight article demonstrates is that America is polarizing more, with, essentially, one party counties expanding over time. One party districts are commonplace.  Even when Democrats had the lock on Southern states, there were counties in those states that were one party Republican counties. There seems to be something in human nature that wants to be part of the herd.

What these maps show is the growth of red. Red Republican districts are expanding over time and deepening.

Does that suggest a long term reaction to something? Perhaps the sense - or reality - in most of America that they had better organize against the opposition found in the big cities?

Paranoid.

But is it paranoid enough?

//CHANGE: Democratic Sen. Chris Coons backtracks on Trump campaign-Russia claim.

Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., on Sunday said he was not aware of any collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Russian officials to rig the election despite saying days earlier that there were “transcripts” of such activity.

“I have no hard evidence of collusion,” Coons told Fox News host Chris Wallace. “To the extent those comments that you just replayed might in some way be misinterpreted as leading to a hyperventilating attitude here in the Senate about this, I apologize for that.”

Hypothesis: The spying-on-Trump thing is worse than we even imagine, and once it was clear Hillary had lost and it would inevitably come out, the Trump/Russia collusion talking point was created as a distraction. Now it’s being rowed back because the talk of “transcripts” supports the spying-on-Trump storyline.

Will we ever know? Maybe, if there’s a proper investigation into Obama Administration political spying.

Meanwhile, the rumors being floated about Trump are being retracted, and once everyone from Comey to Clapper has denied that he was ever under investigation, future “leaks” will come pre-discredited.//

Confession time...

...given the open antisemitism of the left, I just assumed that everyone assumed that the culprit would be "le gauche."

I was puzzled by the references to "the age of Trump."

//This was always predictable. Or if not predictable -- certainly a very live possibility. I was just out at dinner and this came up and I asked why, given the huge amounts of open, blatant, proud antisemitism on the left, especially on college campuses and especially among identity-politics-infected blacks and Muslims, the media was so damn certain it could only be a White Christian Redneck Trump Voter behind this, and why Trump had to tell his people to stop attacking Jews.

Now that it's revealed that it's a left-winger who almost certainly voted for Obama -- will the media be making similar demands that Obama issue strong words against rising antisemitism on the left?

No, of course not. The media's interest in this story was never about the threat to Jews. As Ira Stoll demonstrated, there have been ten major desacrations of Jewish cemeteries since February 2008 but before Trump's inauguration, and the New York Times only saw fit to cover two of them (and one of those was outside the United States).

Since Trump was inaugurated, they've begun covering such desacrations, sending out reporters and photographers to document the vandalism.

Why was this no problem for the New York Times when Obama was president?

And why is this suddenly going to become not much of a problem at all, now that an Obama voter stands accused of phoning in threats to Jewish Community Centers?

By the way: Trump casually and maybe almost unthinkingly claimed this might be a "false flag" operation, and the media of course mocked him for that.

Donald Trump casually suggested an increase on anti-Semitic threats and violence could have been faked to "make people look bad", it was reported today.
He made the comments to a meeting of state attorneys general, according to one of the officials present.

There have been more than 30 bomb threats to Jewish centres across the US so far this week.

Here's the thing: It was a false flag operation. Well, partly false flag, and part actual anti-Jewish and anti-white hatred.//

Conservatives have videos; Leftists have hoaxes.

This is something of a trifecta.

Although Democrats and the media have blamed Trump for the antisemitic vandalism of recent days, the police have charged a Communist ex-journalist with a history of manufacturing fake news for some of those crimes.

Communist former journalist.

What are the odds?
