And your two Texas teachers of the day accused of having sex with students are: Shelley Linder from Brazosport High and Holly Lopez from central Texas.

Both have been arrested and face charges, of different types. Lopez, 32, is accused of having sex with boys aged 14 and 13, but it is not clear if they were her students at the time, so the charge is aggravated sexual assault of a minor. Linder, 25, faces two counts of an improper relationship between an educator and a student and two counts of enticing a child. Her victims were aged 16 and 17.

Lopez is a special-ed teacher in Lexington, which is about 50 miles east of Austin. She is charged in Travis County because the sexual encounters allegedly occurred at the Pflugerville home of one of the boys.

She provided condoms, reportedly. The arrest affidavit says authorities learned of the attacks after one of the victims "began feeling weird about the situation."

Linder was a science teacher at Brazosport High when the attacks took place. She has since been fired. Court documents show she had sexual relations with the 16-year-old in 2009 and then moved on to the 17-year-old a year later. The encounters took place in her house.

Since it only involves women and public employees, this incident will obviously not attract the same attention, or be used in a campaign against a particular group, as it would if it had involved Catholic priests.

Although it is noteworthy that the story describes the incident as an "attack."

Although, apart from that, doesn't it seem like there are way more women teachers having sex with students than back in the day?

What's up with that?
