Latte Love for My Friend

Happy Friday, peeps! This will be short and sweet, as I'll be stamping with my friends at the retirement community today! They'll be small in number but we'll still have fun!

I needed a birthday card for my college roommate, and the color palette at the Color Throwdown looked like fun, but I am pretty sure it's just those cookies talking to me, though!  They look delish! :

I pulled out a few scraps of DSP and a couple stamp sets and here's what I came up with:

First, I stamped some scripty words from the new Elements of Text on a Crumb Cake card base, then added some tan gingham paper as well as the Pretty in Pink DSP.  I embellished the edge with a couple of stitched border dies and added pink gingham ribbon.  I used one of the coffee images from Latte Love, and a sentiment from the retired Wood Words:

I am regretting putting that pink dot in the middle of the coffee, but it's done now, LOL!  A sentiment from Sketched Butterflies went on the inside:

I am going to enter this at Krafty Chicks also, where they're looking for birthdays!

My friend Mary and I go back to 1972 when we were in college together in East Orange, NJ.  How things have changed, but when we get together, we just pick up where we left off from our last visit!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Hello Love

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I have a cute little Valentine card today; it uses the FMS sketch as well as the color palette from CAS Colours & Sketches:

What fun colors together!  So here we go:

My little hearts are from the retired Give It a Whirl, and they were "hung" on a little banner from Scrapbook.com:

I embossed the bottom portion of my white panel with the Dotty Hearts embosing folder, then added a sentiment from Good Greetings, punched out with an oval punch:

I am also going to enter this at the JUGS challenge for this week, which is to use a heart!

Thanks for visiting today!

One of Cassidy's Christmas presents last year was to go to a University of Connecticut basketball game to watch her favorite player, Paige Bueckers.  She really enjoyed it!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SSC353 Country Flowers Sympathy

Happy Tuesday, everyone! It's a gray, dreary day here in PA so I spent some time in my craft room as soon as I got up today, LOL!  I can hardly believe it, but my friend who just lost her husband a few weeks ago, just lost her sister as well.  So I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps to make her a sympathy card.  Here's the sketch:

What a lovely sketch....basic yet have enough detail to use some of the new goodies I recently got from the Online Exclusives selections.  Here we go:

Aren't these papers gorgeous?!  They're called Everyday Happiness, and the diecuts are called Everyday Arches.  They are AMAZING.  I diecut an arch from some of the vintage book papers I had and did a coordinating one in Lost Lagoon.  I stamped and watercolored an image from Country Flowers to add on top:

I added a sympathy sentiment from the same set, stamped in Lost Lagoon on Basic Beige:

My poor friend is so bereft; it's hard to know how to comfort her other than just to be there for her!  Thanks for popping in today!

While there is death always in our sinful world, there is also life! My niece sent me these pictures of her new baby Ava and her oldest (not-quite-three-year-old) Cole:

This one brings tears to my eyes!  How precious!  It amazes me how wee ones love babies! They just know they are something to be treasured!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC615 Twinkle Twinkle

Happy Monday, all!  Time for a pretty new sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

I needed a baby boy card for a young couple who used to go to our church, and I happened to find some papers that worked well for the sketch, so here we go:

I had already cut this panel of printed paper and had not used it for the project intended, so I trimmed it down a little, added a Calypso Coral mat and put it all on a Lost Lagoon card.  I fussy-cut a little image from another one of the pages and added a stamped sentiment on a fussy-cut banner:

The image has a wee bit of glitter too....so cute!  And I used another piece of the paper to embellish the inside and stamped a sentiment and a few stars for fun:

The papers made this card a snap to put together...and now it can go in the mail!  I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week too, we love seeing your creations in the gallery at Atlantic Hearts!

John made a little trip to check on his boat last week and went to the Turkey Point Lighthouse "just because":

It is at the head of the Chesapeake Bay and has quite an interesting history!  The river still had lots of ice on it....I think I will wait until warmer weather to visit myself, LOL!

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

PP723 Love Theme from Ann

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Ann as our hostess.  She's got a perfectly-timed theme for us this week:

At my recent hostess appreciation party, one of my stampers gave ALL the members bags of extra ribbons she had from her stash.....I am talking TONS of ribbons!  And they were all tied up in neat little bundles, too, nothing haphazard!  I immediately thought about using some of those beautiful ribbons to make a card, and here's what I came up with:

My first step was to cut a heart from a panel of Pretty In Pink cardstock and emboss it with a retired embossing folder called Falling Petals.  I then covered a piece of scrap white cardstock with an Adhesive Sheet and began laying on my ribbons.  The stickiness of the adhesive allows you to get your ribbons nice and flat and butted up against each other.  The only thing I wish I had done differently is to use a different-colored ribbon for the last strip on the right; it sort of blends in with the pink cardstock!

I added a pink glimmer bow and a little sentiment from a fun retired set called Pictograms:

And after seeing my friend Linda's card here, I remembered that I had this Valentine sentiment too, so I stamped it on the inside:

Love definitely is in the air! I hope you'll play along with our seasonal theme challenge this week!  Check out what all the designers created at the Paper Players blog, then play along!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Vintage Valentine

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a little Valentine card for you today; it fulfills two challenges:  the As You See It challenge wants to know what our "crafting resolution" is for the 2025, and the Freshly Made Sketches has a lovely, as usual, sketch:

My crafting resolution is to use more embossing folders this year!  They really add such a nice touch and I don't use them enough!  So here we go:

I haven't done any "vintage" in a long time, so I decided to remedy that with my Valentine.  The printed hearts are all cut out from some papers from a book I picked up at a yard sale; it's from 1887 and called Spelling and Language book.  I used some different heart dies to cut some from Cherry Cobbler cardstock as well, and used some gold glimmer paper for the arrow.

I used the Distressed Tile, Eyelet and Tin Tile embossing folders to create the layers, then added some Pecan Pie shading.  The scallops are Crumb Cake, and I added a Cherry Cobbler baker's twine bow.  The sentiment is from the retired Six Sayings; I stamped it on a plain piece from the book.  Here's the inside, using a sentiment from the retired Holiday Best.

It was fun adding all the layers and elements!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Minimalist Purple Thanks

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Yay, the middle of the week is here!  I have a zippity-quick CAS card that took longer to look up the age of the stamps than it did to actually stamp them!  Yes, it's for the Retro Rubber challenge, which is a color palette, as well as the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch:

So here we go:

My foliage is from Little Delights (2021), stamped in Blackberry Bliss and Highland Heather, with the little spots from Label Me Bold (2020), stamped in Purple Posey:

The sentiment is also from Label Me Bold, (which I now realize is in the wrong spot!), and fussy cut.  It went on a Purple Posey card base, and a sentiment from Little Delights was stamped inside as well! I was going to add a sequin but decided to keep it really clean and simple!

I really like the simplicity of this!

An out-of-town friend came and spent the night last week and when she got in her car early Saturday morning, found these on her window:

Aren't they pretty?  These beautiful crystals reminded me of something I read in my Bible study yesterday:  "So, enjoy the art around you, but as you do, may your heart run to the artist behind the art." Paul David Tripp

Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
