GDP237 Guest Designer

Happy Monday, peeps!  I was happy to be chosen as the guest designer for the Global Design  Project Challenge recently!

Their challenge for this week is a vivid color palette:

Aren't these pretty together?  I searched my stamps for something that hadn't been used lately, and came up with For the Love of Felt and Sweetly Swirled; they both have bold floral images that I thought would work well for these bold colors!  So here we go:

I started with a Night of Navy DSP panel, then added a Whisper White panel diecut with the new Ornate Layers die.  I stamped some of the leaves from For the Love of Felt along the panel, then added some flowers from each set, stamped in Melon Mambo and fussy-cut out.  They were mounted on the panel with dimensionals:

I stamped "thank you" from the Sweetly Swirled set and fussy-cut it out, then mounted it on a little white banner cut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  My final touches were a border of Mint Macaron diecut with the Ornate Borders die and a Night of Navy gingham bow attached to the upper left.

I am sure you will be able to come up with some amazing cards featuring these colors!  I hope you'll share them at the Global Design Project as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana sent me this photo of Eden...the window was open and people were talking outside....she hates social distancing, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI211 Fall Foliage

Hi stampers!  Friday is here and that means another As You See It challenge...and it's a theme week:

Image may contain: text

Here in Pennsylvania, the leaves haven't turned like the ones in the photo, but hopefully we'll have some beautiful colors soon!  I wanted to capture those gorgeous autumn hues on my card, so here we go:

This is sort of like that "no-line" watercoloring...I stamped the tree from Rooted in Nature with Antique Linen Distress Ink, then simply filled in the leafy area in fall colors with my aquapainter.  I went a little further and created a grassy area with some piles of raked leaves:

I used the sketch from Inspire.Create:
After creating my image, I stamped a sentiment from For the Love of Felt on the top right, and added some stitching by using the stitch die from the Stitched Labels dies.  I finished it off with some retired DSP and stamped a Thanksgiving sentiment on the inside:

And I think I'll toss in the Color Throwdown challenge, with those pretty fall colors, as well this week:

I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week!  Be sure to check the As You See It blog to see all the DT creations and add yours there too!  Thanks for popping in today!

The new karate studio is HUGE!!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Ordinary Day

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Phew, it's supposed to be a little bit cooler today--we certainly needed a break from that heat!  Before Stamp Camp last night, after I got my most recent SU order, I put one of my new stamps to work:  For The Love of Felt!  I just love the name of that!  I managed to fulfill a few challenges too:  Little Red Wagon's Sew/Stitch It; the Less Is More challenge to use small images (2" or less), and the Fab Friday color challenge:

Now first, let me tell you that using Pineapple Punch is waaaaaaay out of my comfort zone!  But I did want to challenge myself, so here we go:

I stamped the leaves and smaller blue flowers first (both have a "stitched" look to me, then stamped the two larger flowers in the challenge colors on scrap cardstock, fussy-cut them out and adhered them on top.  I stamped the sentiment in the corner, then diecut the whole piece with the Stitched Rectangle die.

As an afterthought, I stamped two little stitchy lines on each side of the sentiment; not sure I like it, but it follows with the stitching theme, so there it is.  I had a piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock already cut for the card base, so I gulped and adhered it on.  I love these colors together (although I didn't think I would), but that bright yellow base is really off the chart BRIGHT!  Oh well, hopefully it will cheer someone up!

Thanks for popping in today!

This little punkin comes back to see me today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
