MTS126 You're So Sweet

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, it's a holiday weekend here in the states as well!  I sat down last night and whipped up this sweet little card so quickly, it made my head spin!  I love it when things come together quickly!  I used the Match The Sketch sketch:

and some of the last few pieces of Sweet Li'l Things DSP I had in my stash:

Easy peasy!  I used a sentiment from the soon-to-be-retired All Boxed Up, stamped in Watermelon Wonder, and cut out a few strawberries to add as embellishments.  My horizontal banner is embossed with Softly Falling:

And on the inside, a sentiment from Cottage Greetings:

So happy you stopped by to visit today!

A pair of Carolina wrens decided to make a nest in a bird house that Cassidy's daddy made for her:

I got a chuckle as some of the nesting material didn't quite fit through the hole!  But they persevered, and have established a surprisingly large nest inside.  It is in our flower garden right outside our door, so I am sure we'll see activity when and if they lay eggs...it seems they may make two or three nests before deciding on exactly where to settle down!  Cassidy took a peek inside while they were off scouting the neighborhood!

We'll keep you posted!

FMS236 and GDP035 You're Sweet

Good Saturday everyone!  I have a cute little card today using the sketch from FMS:

and the Global Design Project challenge, which is to use Project Life products!

I have to admit that I have neglected any sort of scrapbooking, as well as using PL products, and they're really quite a value....you get LOTS of stuff to play with, and as you can see, it's not just for scrapping!  Here I took several panels from last year's Everyday Adventure kit and paired them up with the little puppy from Hey, Girl:

I just realized my colors are the same as I used on yesterday's card!!  I stamped the puppy in Basic Black ink, then shaded him with Basic Gray and Smoky Slate ink and a blender pen.  His bow is Melon Mambo, and just for fun, I added a little MM heart!  The sentiment is from All Boxed Up; both sets are retiring, sadly.

And here's the inside, with a Paper Pumpkin sentiment:

Thanks for popping by today!  And be sure you come back tomorrow for my Paper Players challenge!

TSOT268

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch!  Here we go:
The option this week is textures!  I didn't use textures, but I did use some cheerful colors to make a birthday card for a special friend.  She is in my TOPS group, and many years ago, she was my secret sister at church!  I hope she likes my non-caloric treat!

I used Cherry on Top DSP along with two retiring sets, Six-Sided Sampler and All Boxed Up.  I barely had enough time to use All Boxed Up as it was new just this year, and it has such cute sentiments too!  I used Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush for my colors, and I added a little cherry from the retired set Itty Bitties, punched out with a small circle punch.  The hexagons were also punched out with the Hexagon punch:

For my inside, I used a sentiment from the recent SAB set, Perfect Pairings, and I added a few green cherries for fun!

The TSOT team has created some fun, interesting cards....you can check them out at the TSOT blog, and share yours as well, and you can always go to our Facebook page as well!

Enjoy your day!

CCMC379 Thankful Forest Friends

DSCF2694

Hi everyone!  I just received the cute Thankful Forest Friends set yesterday afternoon and just had to sit down and get it inky.  My craft room is an incredible mess; but I’ll clean up today!  I hadn’t played with the Create with Connie & Mary challenge lately, and they had an interesting sketch:

So here we go:

Most of the time when I make a card, I’ve got an occasion or person in mind, but this one wasn’t for anyone specific, so I used a fun little sentiment from All Boxed Up.  You could send happy thoughts for any number of occasions, right?  I used the Circle Thinlets to cut out my circles, and embossed each one with a different EF, then stamped and cut out my wee little animals:

I used Tip Top Taupe ink and DSP, added some Soft Sky seam binding ribbon and a few well-placed Soft Sky candy dots, then mounted everything on a Soft Sky base.  I didn’t stamp anything on the inside, I’ll do that when I decide for what occasion I’ll be sending it!

We took down our Halloween decorations yesterday and put up our Thanksgiving ones!  Cassidy is at the age now where she is remembering things from last year, and couldn’t wait to line up my Pilgrims and Indians on top of the piano:

She lined up all my turkeys too, but we’ll save that for another day!  Thanks for popping by!

SIP18 for Pennie’s Card Holder

DSCF2384

Happy Friday, everyone!  I have a special little project today, courtesy of my upline, Pennie!  She came up with a cute little card holder box, so I thought it would fun to make one too, using the sketch from Stamp, Ink Paper:

 SIP Sketch Challenge 18 800

So here we go:

The cardstock for the holder needs to be 6x12, and the only 12x12 CS I had  was some textured Very Vanilla….which was perfect, because I wanted to use my favorite Pretty Petals DSP!  I covered the top flap and bottom portion with some coordinating patterns, then used Flower Patch for my Calypso Coral flower and Mint Macaron for the leaves.  All Boxed Up provided just the right sentiment, diecut with the banner from the Circle Card thinlet!  The black belly band  tucks up underneath the circular element, holding it all together:

This is just the right size in which to tuck a few cards & envelopes for a nice little gift!  Pennie said I can share the pattern, so if you’d like to have it, let me know.  (Be sure to include your email, as I cannot respond to anonymous comments!)  Thanks for popping by today!

Cassidy said she was imitating Grampy, reading the newspaper:

Paper Players 250

DSCF0552
Happy Sunday, everyone!  I hope you have some fun Father’s Day plans made!  Claire is our hostess with the mostest today, and she has a cool clean and simple challenge for us this week:

I just loved the little ice cream cone from Sweet Stuff and was so sad it didn’t make it into the catalog this year, but I kept it because I knew I could use it again, and sure enough, it was perfect for Claire’s challenge:

I stamped it in Stazon on Shimmery White paper and did some watercoloring, then added some sparkle with a Gelly Roll pen:

I stamped him again on some Cherry On Top DSP and popped him up, then added some scallops and banners for the Match the Sketch sketch this week:

I did turn my card sideways as the image and banners fit a little better!  The sentiment on the banner is from All Boxed Up, which I LOVE---so many great uses for those sentiments---and the inside is from Cottage Greetings:

Don’t you just love the font?  And I must tell you, this card features SU's new heavyweight cardstock!  It is so awesome!  Very sturdy and great for card bases.  I just love it!

Now, what will you create for our clean and simple challenge?  Share it with us at the Paper Players blog and be sure to check out what the other designers created as well:
Cassidy dressed herself to go see her Daddy, and she wanted everyone to see her Chick-Fil-A puppets!

PPA256 Times Three

DSCF0591

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I haven’t played with the Pals Paper Arts challenge for a while, and when I saw their sketch, I knew just what a wanted to do!  I loved Linda’s use of the new Greetings Thinlits, and I love ALL the new DSPs, so I went to work!

PPA256kwb

I am always in need of quick little thank you cards for my customers, so I made some 4.25” square cards to tuck in with their orders.  The first one uses bright papers from the Schoolhouse series; the “thanks” was diecut in Garden Green twice and glued together, then I added stars in Pool Party, Garden Green and Tangerine Tango:

This one uses the same line of papers, different colors; I cut out two “hello” diecuts, one in white and one in Pacific Point, and staggered them for a different look, then added a little flower with a pearl center:

I punched out the centers of the e and the o, just for fun:

Lastly, I went for a subtle neutral look using the papers from Timeless Elegance and Tip Top Taupe, heat embossing a sentiment from All Boxed Up on a vellum banner and mounting on top of some Jute ribbon and adding a punched heart:

I just can’t decide which one is my favorite!  Which one is yours?

Cassidy & family went to a new Greene Turtle restaurant in Bel Air, MD, for dinner and had her picture taken with their mascot!  Check out her boots!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge, too!  Enjoy your day!
