CCMC379 Thankful Forest Friends
Hi everyone! I just received the cute Thankful Forest Friends set yesterday afternoon and just had to sit down and get it inky. My craft room is an incredible mess; but I’ll clean up today! I hadn’t played with the Create with Connie & Mary challenge lately, and they had an interesting sketch:
So here we go:
Most of the time when I make a card, I’ve got an occasion or person in mind, but this one wasn’t for anyone specific, so I used a fun little sentiment from All Boxed Up. You could send happy thoughts for any number of occasions, right? I used the Circle Thinlets to cut out my circles, and embossed each one with a different EF, then stamped and cut out my wee little animals:
I used Tip Top Taupe ink and DSP, added some Soft Sky seam binding ribbon and a few well-placed Soft Sky candy dots, then mounted everything on a Soft Sky base. I didn’t stamp anything on the inside, I’ll do that when I decide for what occasion I’ll be sending it!
We took down our Halloween decorations yesterday and put up our Thanksgiving ones! Cassidy is at the age now where she is remembering things from last year, and couldn’t wait to line up my Pilgrims and Indians on top of the piano:
She lined up all my turkeys too, but we’ll save that for another day! Thanks for popping by!

SIP18 for Pennie’s Card Holder
Happy Friday, everyone! I have a special little project today, courtesy of my upline, Pennie! She came up with a cute little card holder box, so I thought it would fun to make one too, using the sketch from Stamp, Ink Paper:
So here we go:
The cardstock for the holder needs to be 6x12, and the only 12x12 CS I had was some textured Very Vanilla….which was perfect, because I wanted to use my favorite Pretty Petals DSP! I covered the top flap and bottom portion with some coordinating patterns, then used Flower Patch for my Calypso Coral flower and Mint Macaron for the leaves. All Boxed Up provided just the right sentiment, diecut with the banner from the Circle Card thinlet! The black belly band tucks up underneath the circular element, holding it all together:
This is just the right size in which to tuck a few cards & envelopes for a nice little gift! Pennie said I can share the pattern, so if you’d like to have it, let me know. (Be sure to include your email, as I cannot respond to anonymous comments!) Thanks for popping by today!
Cassidy said she was imitating Grampy, reading the newspaper:
Silly girl!

PPA256 Times Three
Happy Saturday, peeps! I haven’t played with the Pals Paper Arts challenge for a while, and when I saw their sketch, I knew just what a wanted to do! I loved Linda’s use of the new Greetings Thinlits, and I love ALL the new DSPs, so I went to work!
I am always in need of quick little thank you cards for my customers, so I made some 4.25” square cards to tuck in with their orders. The first one uses bright papers from the Schoolhouse series; the “thanks” was diecut in Garden Green twice and glued together, then I added stars in Pool Party, Garden Green and Tangerine Tango:
This one uses the same line of papers, different colors; I cut out two “hello” diecuts, one in white and one in Pacific Point, and staggered them for a different look, then added a little flower with a pearl center:
I punched out the centers of the e and the o, just for fun:
Lastly, I went for a subtle neutral look using the papers from Timeless Elegance and Tip Top Taupe, heat embossing a sentiment from All Boxed Up on a vellum banner and mounting on top of some Jute ribbon and adding a punched heart:
I just can’t decide which one is my favorite! Which one is yours?
Cassidy & family went to a new Greene Turtle restaurant in Bel Air, MD, for dinner and had her picture taken with their mascot! Check out her boots!
Be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge, too! Enjoy your day!
