AHSC613 Celebrate

Hello, stampers!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge for this week is a great, simple one:

I went pretty literal with it, and it gave me the chance to use the colors from the current Color Hues challenge:

I pulled out some Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist products and went to work:

The Night of Navy card was embossed with a star embossing folder, and I diecut some stars from matching DSPs.  The "celebrate" and the smaller stars are diecut from Granny Apple Green foil, even though they look gold in the photo:

I also added a little line of embossing for fun!  The inside uses a sentiment from Hooray for Surprises:

I think this is a great sketch as well as a great color combo, especially for masculine cards!  I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week too!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

TCH92 Feel Better Soon

Hello, everyone!  I haven't gotten my Country Flowers set inky for a while, and the Color Hues challenge of pink and brown got me to thinking!

So here we go:

I also used the TGIF Challenge sketch:

I began with some Pretty in Pink striped DSP, then added my Pecan Pie teapot and my pink and tan flowers:

The flowers were stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon ink so I could watercolor them in; the pot was stamped in Craft White ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  For fun, I adhered the layers of the pink DSP to a piece of white scrap paper, then ran it through the Eyelet embossing folder before adhering it to a mat of Crumb Cake. I also added some Crumb Cake leaves behind the flowers.  A sentiment from Unbounded Love and a few sequins finished it off.  This color combination kind of reminds me of Neopolitan ice cream, LOL!

The kids went to King's Dominion in Virginia over the weekend for Cassidy's birthday and did a spooky escape room:

The next day, they got stuck on a roller coaster!!! They were only a short distance from the end, but I guess they had to be rescued!  Yikes!

This is why I just watch from the sidelines, LOL! Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Halfway through the week! I have a fun little Christmas card for you today; it uses the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch as well as the Color Hues palette of red and green:

And here we go:

I used images and the sentiment from the retired Little Treats, stamped in Real Red and Emerald Envy, then diecut and mounted on a scalloped frame.  The pine branch is from W+9.  I added an embossed layer of polka dots just for fun!

The inside was stamped with a sentiment from Wrapped in Christmas and another little ornament from the Little Treats set:

What a fun little sketch!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on hus throne at the right side of God.  Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth.  Colossians 3:1-2

Christmas Wishes

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I have a sweet vintage-themed card for you today; the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Countdown wants to see a fireplace, and the Color Hues challenge is blue and cream:

I used a shade of blue a wee bit darker---Misty Moonlight--and a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms from many years ago when they were still around.  Here we go:

I stamped and diecut my image, added a scalloped border, then layered it on a piece of blue printed paper from Authentique's Alpine collection.  I added a circle diecut with an Artistic Outpost sentiment, added a little scalloped border under it and then for fun, a wee little diecut stocking:

And a Cornish Heritage Farms sentiment for the inside!

And since I used circles and squares on my card, I'm squeaking this in over at Just Add Ink:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Fruitful Blessings Sympathy

Happy Tuesday, stamping friends! Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week and the Color Hues challenge was yellow and kraft:

I still had Fruitful Blessings on my desk from yesterday's card and I had some stamped images unused, so I put them together:

I used the sketch only from Try Stampin On Tuesday:

My image was stamped in Stazon Black and watercolored with Crumb Cake ink. I then added some retired DSP for the panels, added a diecut circle that was embossed with the Timeworn Type EF and a little linen thread bow.  The sentiment is from  Lasting Joy:

I added two sentiments from Special Moments on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

God blesses the soil which drinks in the rain that often falls on it and which grows plants that are useful to those for whim it is cultivated.  But if it grows thorns and weeds, it is worth nothing; it is in danger of being cursed by God and will be destroyed by fire. Hebrews 6:7-8

A Sweet Birthday

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I have a sweet birthday card today; this is for a sweet friend of mine who is also one of the best bakers I know, so I hope she likes it!  I am squeaking in the Color Hues challenge of red and aqua as well as the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

I found some red plaid paper in my stash, pulled out a cute Lawn Fawn set called Baked with Love, and went to work:

All the images were stamped in Versafine ink and colored with Blends or Copics, then diecut with the matching dies.  I adhered them on top of a Basic White circle, matted with a Pool Party scallop. I added a sentiment from the same set along with some enamel dots from my stash:

I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but it said "You're the Icing on the Cake"!  So cute!  Thanks so much for popping in today---enjoy your day and be blessed!

Jar of Sunflowers Minus the Jar

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you're all doing well and have something fun planned this weekend!  I have neglected the Jar of Flowers stamp set and wanted to create a card for a customer since she just purchased it!  I thought I would not  use the jar stamp itself, instead just using the image peeking out from behind some pretty DSP:

I used the sketch only from this week's Fusion challenge, as well as the colors from Color Hue:

I stamped the flowers in Saddle Brown Stazon ink so I could watercolor them with reinker inks.  I used Thick Very Vanilla cardstock for the card since it is a little more able to accept watercolor than regular weight cardstock.  I added a few speckles, and a scalloped border using some Crushed Curry Rustic Harvest DSP:

Then finished it off with a little Soft Suede DSP banner and some Linen Thread.  The sentiment is from Quiet Meadow.  You can't see it, but the centers of the flowers have also been accented with Wink of Stella!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

So I convinced Dana to enter some of her crocheted projects at the fair this last week and we were both thrilled that she won ribbons for all five entries! (Forgive the glare; they exhibit everything under heavy plastic!)  This baby blanket won a first ribbon:

As did this hat and scarf set; don't you love that furry pompom?

This baby blanket won a third:

And so did this fun hat!

She also won a second for a pretty cowl, but I forgot to take a picture of that one!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Be Merry

Happy Friday, peeps!  Just a quick card for two challenges today!  The Color Hues challenge wants red and aqua, which is a favorite of mine, and the Christmas Craft Creations wants only two colors!

I pulled out a favorite Stamp Market set and here we go:

I looked through my stash of DSP but didn't have any Coastal Cabana gingham, so I made my own plaid with the retired Buffalo Check.  The sentiment, candy cane and bow are from The Stamp Market's Candy Cane Christmas set; they were all stamped and adhered to a Stylish Shapes square diecut and layered with a Real Red scalloped mat.  I also added a little rhinestone for some bling!

An Impression Obsession stamp finished the inside:

I know it's pretty unadorned, but sometimes that's okay!  Thanks for visiting today...enjoy it and be blessed!

CH35 Stenciled Florals

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend!  My friend Michele inspired me to try the Color Hues challenge this week:

Michele is a whiz at making stupendous floral cards, so I can't even begin to compete with hers.  But I did give it a go with SU's new stencils (ie: masks), and I really liked how this came out:

I am still struggling to get my photos to the way I like them--hopefully by Thursday I will have my own computer back---but I am hoping you can get the picture, LOL!  I stenciled the lighter layer in Blushing Bride, then added Polished Pink on top.  I used Misty Moonlight as my "navy", stenciling the leaves in that shade:

I added some pink speckles and a sentiment from Flowering Rain Boots.  And while I had my blending brushes handy, I added another little flower on the inside of my Misty Moonlight card:

I must tell you that the samples in the Color Hues gallery are stunning!  So creative!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!
