GDP442 Petunia Pop Birthday

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My card today features the sketch from Global Design Project:

I am playing with a new In Color today, it's called Petunia Pop!  It coordinates nicely with Berry Burst, so I used both for the center panel of my card; DSP in Petunia Pop and a mat of Berry Burst:

I stamped the flower from Hooray for Surprises in both colors, cutting out the center and popping it up.  I stamped a sentiment from Country Birdhouses then added some Diagonal White ribbon.

Originally I stamped the sentiment on the DSP, but I didn't like how it kind of bled into the paper.  It did almost the same thing on the cardstock, so I removed some of the excess ink from the ink pad with a paper towel.  Hopefully that will solve the problem the next time I use it!

Thanks so much for popping in today!

It's baseball season!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP439 Ice Cream Birthday

Happy (rainy) Monday, peeps, happy April! Hope you had a nice weekend! I spent some time with family, John stayed home with a bad cold!  Anyway, since I already had all these fun papers on my desk from my card for yesterday, I decided to make another card for our pastor's daughter, whose birthday is also coming up soon!  So here we go:

I used the same papers, but chose the retired Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and matching builder punch to build a fun sweet treat for her card, and it is on a wobbler mechanism, so when she gets her card, the ice cream will wobble!

Just stamped a simple sentiment from the same set on the inside:

I am entering this at the Global Design Project challenge this week, as they are looking for sweet treats!

And we had a chance to see this little sweet treat Coby yesterday too!

Cassidy sprained her ankle on Friday so she was on crutches, but it didn't stop her from cuddling her little cousin, even if he did look a wee bit grumpy!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP438 Inked & Tiled Easter

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have an easy card today using the Inked & Tiled stamp set along with the Inked Botanicals DSP, and a wee bit of embossing!  Here's the sketch I used from Global Design Project:

I used both sides of one piece of the DSP, and did some heat embossing on the Crushed Curry side with the floral stamp and some Craft White ink and embossing powder:

To make the florals stand out a bit more, I added some loose watercoloring in Crushed Curry around the edges of the flowers and stems:

I heat embossed an Easter sentiment on a piece of Calypso Coral, again in white ink and embossing powder, then overstamped it with the word stamps from Quiet Meadow in Versamark ink, for a very faint background; hope you can see it here:

Two Iridescent Gems and it was on its way!

We'll go with some coral-hued flowers from Longwood today!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC554 A Really Big Baby Card

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I guess by the name of my post, you might think this is a baby card for a really big baby, or a really big card for a normal-sized baby!  Thankfully, it's the latter! My niece finally had her baby Sunday night, and I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts for their card:

So here's my really big card:

I wanted to be able to use a business-sized envelope, so the card is 3 3/4" x 8 1/2".  I apologize for the poor quality photo....I guess it's just too big!  I used some plaid papers from the retired Country Gingham DSP, and some scrapbook paper from my stash.  The teddy bear was stamped and colored with Blends; it's from the retired Every Little Bit, and he was mounted on an embossed square of Basic White:

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs and the enamel dots are retired SU.  And on the inside, some sentiments from Charming Sentiments, stamped in Azure Afternoon, and for the Global Design Project challenge this week, which is "ABC--using letters",

I diecut Papertrey letters for his name:

And here is baby Coby, with Mommy and Daddy and big brother Cole....and he weighed in at 9 lb, so I guess you could say he was a big baby!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Bundle Up

Happy Friday, everyone! I have a busy weekend ahead...church decorating, shopping, Advent covered dish and hymn sing....phew!  But fun stuff! I had time to play yesterday between cookie-baking to make a fun little card with a set I don't think I've used but maybe one time.  When I had my W+9 candle set out, I noticed I had this little W+9 set in my box as well:

I used the color theme from Inspired By as well as the sketch from Global Design Project:

Each of my little warm elements were stamped and diecut, then mounted on some woodgrain paper, and mounted on a 4 1/4" square card of Tranquil Tide that was stamped with the retired Knit Together stamp:

A really "vintage" Whippersnapper set provided the sentiment and I used some sentiment from a past Close to My Heart set for the inside:

Another for the stash!  How is your card-making progressing? I think I'd better sit down and count how many I have...I may need to gear up, LOL!

Over the summer, Cassidy was a junior counselor at a local Christian retreat called Black Rock.  Dana was looking up information to sign her up again, and here's what came up on the retreat's website:

Looks like she was having fun!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP416 Fruitful Blessings

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend!  I have a Thanksgiving card for you today that uses the "CAS the Designer" challenge at Global Design Project:

I should have made a Halloween card, since I am low on them, but the corn in the Fruitful Blessings cards, along with the Stitched Leaves dies, were calling to me!  Here we go:

My friend Wendy inspired me to get out these retired plaid papers for my background, and the rest is just simple diecutting.  The stamped sentiment is from Fruitful Blessings, and I added some linen thread I picked up at a yard sale.  There is also a Crushed Curry panel under the arrangement, diecut with the Radiating Stitches dies.

My sister went home this morning, but yesterday we visited another local Community Fair, this one was in Unionville.  The only photo I got was of this cowboy on stilts!!!  You can see by the sky, it was windy and chilly!  And he was moving so fast, I couldn't get a good picture of his face! But the kids loved him!  The gun he was shooting was full of bubbles!

My sister took this picture of me and John in the exhibits booth next to a big pumpkin.  They have categories of all sorts of flowers, vegetables, hay, photography, artwork and needlework and have them separated into adult and children.  We had to giggle that the sign for "Adult Vegetables" was right over John's head!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP413 Lovely Fall Wreath

Happy Tuesday, everyone! The fall color challenge at Global Design Project jumped out at me but I knew that I didn't want to do a Halloween card with the colors:

But they're definitely fall colors so I challenged myself to use some products that hadn't been used lately!  The Natural Prints die set has a lovely big wreath die....which I think I might have used once....so I cut it out once from Cajun Craze cardstock, and then again in Pumpkin Pie.  I snipped off a few sprigs of the Pumpkin Pie one and adhered it to the Cajun Craze one to make a two-toned wreath:

I added some florals from Love for You, along with the "love" sentiment and embellished it with a black & white gingham bow and some amber gems:

A panel embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder went beneath it, and a sentiment from Fruitful Blessings went inside:

A fun fall creation!

And this has nothing to do with fall....but I was shopping at a local "scratch-and-dent" grocery store yesterday, perusing the frozen foods, and this one lonely little package looked up at me:

Oh. My. Gosh.  I have never seen anything like this in any grocery store anywhere!  Yikes!  It stayed right where it was, too, even at $1.29.  It just does not look very appetizing to me, I apologize if any of my readers happen to like cooked octopus legs, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP405 Sea Turtles and a True Confession

Happy Friday, peeps! My card today was a bit of an experiment but since it didn't turn out too awfully bad, I went with it!  It uses the color palette at Global Design Project:

Now, here's my confession (don't hate me)....I really do not care for either Wild Wheat or Pebbled Path.  Having been a demo for over 20 years, I've seen my share of colors, 99% of them I have been okay with.  These two....well, let's just say I have to force myself to use them!  I LOVE Boho Blue, so at least they got that one right.  But of all the possible colors that whoever the powers-that-be at SU could have chosen as In Colors, I think they certainly could have picked better ones! And I would be interested in what my readers think....I know Shawn likes Pebbled Path, so I'll try to get used to that one, LOL!

Okay, rant over....I am accepting the challenge to use these colors!  I got some new fun stamps recently and since I am still practicing my heat embossing,  I put the colors, some white craft ink and embossing powder and a little Sea Turtle to work:

Each turtle was stamped in White Craft ink and heat embossed with White embossing powder, then diecut with the largest banner die from Nested Essentials.  This is a reversible stamp set, which means you can use either side of the images; one is detailed, the other is a block image.  I used the block image of the bubbles with Versamark ink to create a background on each banner, then added some Faceted Gems on each one as well:

I added a sentiment from Inked & Tiled, diecut with a Timeless Arrangment die and popped it up in the middle.

Everything went on a card base that was embossed with the Twisted Rope embossing folder.  I will try giving this color combo another go later....that was enough Wild Wheat for me for one day!  Thanks for popping in!

A few more birthday greetings!  This pretty one is from Tracy:

I don't have these papers or this stamp set, so this will go in my sample box!!  And Michele KNOWS how much I love my birds....this card is a treasure:

And this fun hourglass card is from Kathy...her embossing is PERFECT!

Thanks, ladies!  I have treasured looking at these over and over!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
