Hostess Party Projects

Hi peeps!  Happy Thursday to all!  This past weekend I had my Hostess Appreciation party!  We ate some lunch, played a game and did some stamping with products from the Occasions catalog:

This was my favorite project, a little tissue holder created by my sweet friend Vicki!  You can see her project here!  It is amazingly easy and so cute!  I used Blushing Bride cardstock and Birthday Bouquet DSP with Greatest Greetings and What I love Stamp sets in Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder inks:

This little 4 1/4" square card uses the same DSP, Mint Macaron cardstock and a little honeycomb embellishment with some baker's twine:

and Honeycomb Happiness for this inside:

The third project was a wee little coffee cup (from a restaurant supply store), covered with some papers from the Love Blossom 6x6 stack.  It featured a little banner diecut of Rose Red cardstock and  an"xoxo" from Blushing Bride glimmer paper (both from the Circle Card thinlits):

The top of the lid has a sweet sentiment from Suite Sayings (what a great set!) and a glimmer paper heart:

And we filled it up with some Valentine candy!  We also did a paper heart from January's Paper Pumpkin kit!

Here are Alison, Joan, Kathy and Robyn, hard at work!!!

As well as Linda, Debbie, Lesley and Sandy!

Have a great day!

PPA284 Another Baby Card

Happy Monday, peeps!  Wow, what a weekend...what a blizzard!  I think we got about 30-36" of fluffy white stuff!  It snowed for more than 24 hours!  Hope everyone weathered the storm okay!  I did get to spend a little time stamping, this time I played with the Pals Paper Arts sketch:

PPA-284-Jan21

Another baby card...not sure why I have babies on my mind, but this DSP was laying on my desk, and it's sort of an odd color for a baby card--Tip Top Taupe--but the prints were cute, so I went with it!  It's about as simple as you can get..a bit of starry embossing on the Very Vanilla card base, a couple of sentiments punched out with circle punches and some VV thick twine:

I did do a little playing around with a couple of the sentiments from Greatest Greetings on the inside.....fun to mix them up!

Only one little picture of Cassidy...she was at her daddy's this weekend weathering the storm with Lambie and Chase...and a wee bit tuckered out:

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 278 Get Well Sooner

Hi peeps!  Happy Sunday....are you snowed in?  LOL!  Nance is our hostess with the mostest today, and she has a wonderful sketch for us today play with at the Paper Players!  Here ya go:

I am also using the fun colors from Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC390

And here's my card:

Since the colors are so strong, I chose to use a lot of texture rather than a lot of stamping!  I used the Large Polka Dot EF for the background; the Decorative Dots for the circle; and the Happy Hearts for the banner!  My sentiment is from Greatest Greetings, stamped in Lost Lagoon, and the flowers are from Friendly Wishes.  I also used some of the new Silky Taffeta ribbon and some well-placed pearls!

And on the inside, I used the cutout from the Butterflies thinlit from the front as an accent:

Be sure to check out what the other designers created this week too...you'll love them!  You can find them at the PP blog, or check them out at the links below!

Honeycomb Happiness New Baby Cards

Happy Friday peeps!  If you're in the northeastern portion of the States, you're probably waiting for the big snow/sleet/ice event that is barreling across the country!  I am ready to hunker down and watch some Netflix, do some knitting, cross-stitching and stamping!   But first, I have a couple of baby cards to show you, just in time for The Male Room challenge of babies and little boys:

One of the main reasons I got Suite Sayings was because of this adorable sentiment, and I thought it would be really cute with this little chick peeking out from somewhere!  This little dude was already stamped, sponged (Mint Macaron) and cut out, unused from another project, so I went searching for some suitable little boy paper and found these in the Sweet Lil' Things DSP line:

It's pretty straightforward....just some sponging and coloring with a marker; a couple of diecut circles and a few non-SU sequins.  This just happens to be for a customer who just became a grandmother for the first time!

While I had the sets on my desk, I made another for my stash, using the same papers but in a different color palette....this time I added a few Pool Party stars with the sequins, and sponged my Soft Suede-stamped chickie in Crushed Curry and Hello Honey:

And on the inside, a couple of sentiments from Greatest Greetings and Perfect Pairings, also in Soft Suede!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A little reading time with Grampy:

MTS104 Sympathy

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone had a great holiday!   I haven't been in my stamp room for days, but today I managed to find some time to make a couple cards.  I used the Match the Sketch sketch  for both of them, making one in portrait orientation and the other landscape:

Two days before Christmas, one of my SU customers died in an auto accident on his way to see his family in Maryland.  It was his 42nd birthday.  Although he had only been to two parties, I knew he had a heart of gold and was a real gentle soul. He had a genuine passion for art and crafting;  I loved when he was at a workshop because he asked lots of questions and showed a real interest in incorporating stamping into his artwork.  He loved the grunge style, so the new Timeless Textures was perfect for a sympathy card:

I won this typewriter image from Stamplorations a couple of months ago, and this is the first time I inked it up!  It was stamped on a scrap of striped DSP in Night of Navy and cut out.  I raided my scrap pile and found a piece of big polka-dotted DSP which I embossed with a Tim Holtz typewriter EF.  I added some sponging and random stamping with the Timeless Textures images in Tip Top Taupe, Night of Navy and Lost Lagoon:

I also used part of a sentiment from the new set, Greatest Greetings....another set full of wonderful words!

My card is just such a small token of sympathy....I know my Christmas was not the same, thinking of the loss his family has suffered.

Here's my other sympathy card, using some English Garden DSP and the new SAB set What I Love:

I stamped the floral image in Mint Macaron and Night of Navy, both stamped off, then fussy-cut it out.  I also used the same sentiment from Greatest Greetings, stamped in Rose Red.  It's always good to have some of these cards in my stash.

Christmas was a whirlwind!  Here's Cassidy opening her stocking:

Unwrapping her sled....we MIGHT be able to use it this winter, but so far, it's been way too warm!

She can't wait to play with Barbie's Color, Cut & Curl....although I am hoping she doesn't get any ideas about her own hair, LOL!

Thanks for visiting today!
