PP694 Clean & Simple Sympathy

Happy Sunday, everyone! It's Paper Players time and I am the hostess this week!  It's Clean-and-Simple week, and that means we keep our layers and embellishments to a MINIMUM!  That's a challenge sometimes, isn't it?  My theme is Sympathy or Encouragement.  It's always good to have some sympathy cards on hand, so that's what I chose for my card.

I had this pretty seashell set on my desk for another project and I thought how nice a card would look with just one shell, so here we go:

I stamped the shell in Versafine black ink and colored it loosely with Summer Splash ink.  The sentiment is very old, it's from Crafty Secrets and it was stamped in the same color.  The "sand" is from Country Birdhouse, stamped in Crumb Cake and I added some shading under the shell along with some Wink of Stella,  A Basic Beige ribbon was my only embellishment; I did round the corners for a little more interest.

I added a sympathy sentiment on the inside along with some more "sand".  I think the sentiment on the front is a nice one for a sympathy card.

While I had the set out, I made another card, coloring and fussy-cutting the shells, then mounting it on a Basic Beige panel that was embossed with a SSS embossing folder called Cast Away.  It is an amazing folder, perfect for any nautical or beachy-themed card!

It's not quite as clean-and-simple as my first one, but would make a great encouragment card for a special friend!

I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week!  Don't be intimidated by the CAS part...just use the basics of stamps, ink and paper and you'll be good to go! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TMS709 Inked & Tiled Birthday

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a quick, easy card today that uses a fantastic sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

I still had a few pretty scraps left from my Regency Park DSP, so I decided to use some coordinating ones along with one of the floral images from Inked & Tiled:

The measurements I used for each 5 1/4" panel were 1 7/8", 1 1/4" and 3/4" but I think the next time I use the sketch I may increase them a wee bit as there is a lot of white card base showing.  Anyway, the florals were stamped in Petal Pink and the sentiment in Calypso Coral, with a Calypso Coral scalloped mat behind the Stylish Shapes circle.

I added some gems, and stamped some other florals on the inside, along with a sentiment from the retired Peaceful Moments:

This will be winging its way across the world to a special friend for her birthday!

A couple more "ducky" pictures from the hike...well, technically they're geese and goslings:

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC519 Hippest Hippo Birthday

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  When I saw the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, I almost took off running for the hills, but I decided to challenge myself and just do it....it's a Step Card! Here's the sketch:

Lots of step cards involve cutting and scoring within the card base, but I found one that was a little easier! You can see it HERE, it's by Creative Juice by Loni. It involves only simple cutting, folding and adhering, then I went to work with the SAB Hippest Hippos from last year:

I may have gone a bit overboard with the embellishments, but it's for my pastor's daughter and I thought she would like the flowers and hippos! They were stamped and colored with Blends; the flowers were diecut with the retired Pierced Blooms dies.  Everything went on a Blushing Bride base with matching DSP, and the "grass" they're standing on is from the On the Farm dies.

The sentiments are from Hippest Hippos and the retiring Peaceful Moments:

And there's plenty of room for a sentiment on the inside:

Thanks for visiting today!

We had Cassidy for the weekend, and it was actuallly nice enough to be outside for a wee little bit.  John and I picked up sticks from the recent winds we've had and Cassidy goofed off!

We had a bit of a funny experience on Saturday night; we went to a local restaurant and while we were there, a tornado warning came on our phones....as well as every phone in the entire restaurant!  It was quite a racket and we all shared a moment of "togetherness"!!  In a few minutes we did get lots of rain and wind but it subsided quickly.  Some areas got hail and a tornado did touch down in southern Delaware but blessedly missed us!  Phew!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TSOT596 Let's Celebrate

Hi peeps!  The week is winding down, looking forward to the weekend!  I have a birthday card using some pretty papers from Regency Park and a sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday:

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love peach and coral hues, so these prints just make me happy!  So here we go:

I ran a piece of this pretty polka-dotted pattern through my Stitched With Whimsy die and added the elements with coordinating patterns.  The flower was diecut with the retired Pierced Blooms (which in my opinion, should never have been retired!!!) from some Sweet Sorbet glimmer paper, and the sentiment from Simply Fabulous was stamped in Sweet Sorbet on a stitched panel from the same die set:

Peaceful Moments provided the sentiments for the inside, and I stamped a little two-step floral from Simply Fabulous in there as well!  This will soon be winging its way to a birthday recipient!

Easy peasy!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC514 Gift Card Holders

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I have a couple of little gift card holders for you today; I rarely make them and yet they really come in handy when you don't know quite what to get someone!  I am using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

The folded card holder measures 3" x 4 1/4".  I started with a piece of cardstock that measured 4 1/4" x 7 3/4", then scored at 3" and 6".  The remaining 1 3/4" flap gets folded to the inside and adhered close to the edges so that the gift card can slide inside.  For this particular one, I used Mango Melody cardstock and some Dandy Designs DSP:

I created a little faux gift bag, gave it a twine handle and some tissue paper, then mounted it on a retired Stitched Nested Label diecut.

The cupcake is from Lawn Fawn, and the sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs:

I used sentiments from the retired Picture Perfect Birthday for the inside panels.

I decided to do another one, this time using current products (although the Dandy Designs was a SAB gift and is no longer available), but I used a sentiment from Charming Sentiments directly on the DSP, made the gift bag a single layer so that it would be simpler to create, and added a birthday candle from the Sentiments Silhouettes dies:

The sentiments for the inside of this one are from Peaceful Moments:

Still fun and cute!  The possibilities for these little gift card holders are endless!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RR200 For The Newlyweds

Hi stampers!  A very quick, simple card today; a young-ish couple in our church is getting married on Saturday and the bride loves purple, so I used the sketch from my friends at Retro Rubber to create a card for them. Here's the sketch:

I used a simple sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and some purple papers, so here we go:

I embossed a Basic White panel with a retired Heart embossing folder, then added some retired Highland Heather DSPs along with some Valentine papers from last year for the lower portion of the card.  I stamped the sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes, 2009) in Gorgeous Grape ink.  I added two white glimmer hearts, although it's hard to see the glimmer here, and a purple gem:

I did cheat a wee little bit and added some hearts from Country Bouquet to accent the sentiment from Peaceful Moments (2021):

Now if I could just figure out what to wear, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!

The party is in full swing here!

The kids escaped to the balcony where they had their own little party!

Poor Avery was outnumbered by all those girls!  And we did manage to get a family shot:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB206 October Thinking of You

Happy Saturday, peeps!  It's hayride and bonfire time tonight at church, and the weather should be perfect for it, so I am looking forward to some fun family time together!  I did get in a little time to stamp yesterday; it has been a bit of a hectic week with not much stamping time. I needed a  birthday card and the Inspired By challenge is back up and running, and their photo inspiration was so pretty:

I had lots of ideas but not much time, so I concentrated on the picture of the pumpkins on the wall, and pulled out some of the Recollections Thankful Heart papers that featured pumpkins, to make my uber-simple card:

I had a piece of Kraft paper floating around on my desk, so I embossed a sentiment from Peaceful Moments and diecut it into a banner.  I added another banner of some watercolored Bumblebee cardstock along with some Blushing Bride Metallic ribbon, all tied together with some Linen Thread:

I added a birthday sentiment from the same set to the inside.  It will be ready to mail tomorrow!  Thanks for visiting today!

So this happened this week:

Yep, braces!  She said they hurt a little bit by the end of the day, but I am sure she'll get used to it!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

"Then the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry?  Why is your face downcast?  If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?  But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it."  Genesis 4:6-7
