GDP31 and Muse 162

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Today's card is for the Muse Challenge 162, which is to use my sweet friend Tracey McNeeley as your muse; here is her card:

as well as the Global Design Project, which is also to CASE the designer, Krista Frattin, and her card:
Sooooo.....I was experimenting with some of my cheapo watercolor paper and the florals from Flower Patch, and it just wasn't working out.  I diecut them, then let them dry, and surprisingly, after they dried, they kind of curled up and had a soft look to them, so I decided to give them a second chance, LOL!  I liked Tracey's brightly-colored diecut flowers, but I originally was going to use a more organic style DSP for my background, hence the watercolor look.  So, after all that, here's my card:

I had a piece of white cardstock already embossed with a cloud embossing folder, so I turned it on the debossed side, added my flowers, a sentiment from Silhouettes & Script, a couple of sequins and some white cord from my stash.

To make the flowers and leaves, I stamped them on the cheapo watercolor paper in Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi, then sprayed them lightly with a mist of water.  I quickly dried them with a heat tool and diecut them, then let them dry completely.  After they dried, I stamped the centers:

For a bold touch, I added black mats to match the black sentiment!  So I have bright flowers like Tracey, as well as a black sentiment!  Thanks for popping in today!

Another fashion look....and more playdoh birthday celebrations!  This is at about 7am, hence the sleepy look and slightly mussed hair!

Enjoy your day!

Muse Challenge 160

Happy Saturday, peeps!  We are still in the throes of weird spring weather....not happy with rain and snow, let me tell ya!  Here's another simple card to help remind me that it won't last forever:

This is an almost exact CASE of Michele Ferguson's card, who is the Muse for this week's Muse challenge.  Michele is such a talented stamper...every time I see one of her cards, she "wows" me with me her simple but beautiful creativity!  For my card, I used a scrap of butterfly paper, a butterfly thinlet that I layered on two layers of Watermelon Wonder cardstock:

and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Stazon on washi tape:

I know my pinks don't match, but I love them together anyway!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for our latest Paper Players challenge!

Cassidy was in a baking (pretend) mood....she got out her playdoh, rolling pin, muffin cups and spatula and went to work:

She ended up with cake and cupcakes:

Which she served to her dolls...outside....while it was snow flurrying!!!  She wants spring to get here too!

Enjoy your day!

CQC287 and Muse

DSCF9233

Happy Wednesday, all!  Hope your week is going well!  I needed a really fast sympathy card, and the ColourQ challenge colors were perfect:

I also found a new-to-me challenge, the Muse Card Club, and they also have a monochromatic challenge; you can see it here. Michele’s sample is just beautiful in blue, but I wanted to use the softer hue of Blush Blossom for my notecard:

I knew I could use the Basic Gray for the sentiment, but wasn’t sure how to incorporation the black, so I added a simple grosgrain ribbon and stamped the butterfly from Papillon Potpourri in black Stazon ink, colored it with my marker and popped it up:

Clean, lovely, simple!  Enjoy your day!
