DSCF0227

Hi everyone!  I promised I would show you some photos from Sunday’s Hostess Appreciation party!  Here are the projects we made:

And I apologize, but I just could not get a better shot of this Love banner using Fresh Prints, Fabulous Phrases and Morning Post Alphabet:

Here are some individual shots (still not that great!):

The colors are so fun and vibrant, I just love these colors!  Sorry they don’t look so hot here…you’ll just have to take my word for it!

And here are the wonderful hostesses who attended:

Paper Players 177

DSCF0071

Happy Sunday, everyone!  The Paper Players are back in full swing with a new challenge for the new year!

The chalkboard technique is quite popular lately and there are lots of stamps that easily fit into this challenge!  It seems everyone has a favorite way of doing it, I merely stamped my image in white craft ink and added a little white chalk on top with a cotton ball.  It helps with the “chalkboard” look to make it a little smudgy, but since my sentiment was fairly small, I only smudged around the edges:

I had a couple of duplicate photos from my last photo order, so I thought it would be fun to create a little fridge magnet with one of them.  This “love” sentiment from Love You to the Moon is perfect for the chalkboard technique!

I didn’t particularly like the background in my photo (we were having concrete poured that day!) so I added a big sparkly heart right where the taillight of the truck was!!!  I added some pink baker’s twine, but it needed a third element to balance it, so I remembered my little dater stamp from the This & That line, and I stamped “remember” on another piece of Basic Black cardstock and added it to the top!

I mounted the Strawberry Slush panel to a piece of Basic Black that had been adhered to a piece of light cardboard, and added a couple magnet strips to the back.  Strawberry Slush is such a great Valentine’s color, and it looks awesome paired with black!
So, what can you create with the chalkboard technique? Share it with us at the Paper Players and see what the others have come up with as well:

  A special treat….yum!

CPC30

DSCF9985

Hi peeps!  I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays!  I have really, really relaxed lately, but I was itching to get back into my craft room and play with some of the new goodies that will be in the upcoming spring mini.  I just love the colors that are in this Retro Fresh DP:

I used a sentiment from a new set called Love You To the Moon, with its matching Chalk Talk die, and the button and banner are made from Retro Fresh This & That washi tape:

I used the Craft Project Central sketch 30 as well:

and I stuck to it pretty well; the card is 4 1/4” square but I can see this sketch being used for larger ones as well!  And a nice thing about Craft Project Central, they have a mini tutorial for this card and they give you all the measurements!   Here’s the inside, using the arrow stamps from Geometrical and a sentiment from Four You:

This card makes me smile!

I will be sharing a few Christmas pictures soon, but I wanted to share with you Cassidy’s big gift from us; we had it covered with a blanket next to the tree and she walked around the room several times and didn’t even notice it:

She HAD to climb up the back (in her pink cowboy boots) to get on the seat of this cherry red Radio Flyer tricycle:

and finally managed to get on it!  Not much room to ride it in our small house, so as soon as we can, we’ll take it to Grampy’s garage to ride around!

Enjoy your day!
