AYSI282 Hello Baby

Happy Friday, peeps!  Time for a new As You See It challenge and this is a fun one!  Look at this little cutie:

Not many babies being born in my family lately, but I did see Dana crocheting a blue baby blanket for a friend of hers the other day, so I am thinking I may give this to her!  Here we go:

My sketch is from Atlantic Hearts:

I used some "oldies but goodies" stamps for the main image:  A to Z, Teeny Tiny Wishes and Every Little Bit, colored with a light watercolor wash and mounted on some really old Cuttlebug tags.

I used some Papertrey gingham, a piece of random blue paper from my scrapbook stash, and a piece of retired Soft Sky paper was run through the Big Shot with the new Dots & Spots die...such a fun look and so easy!  I added a scalloped mat on the horizontal piece and tied it all up with some pale yellow embroidery floss!  I added a simple sentiment on the inside, and it's ready to go!

I hope you'll play along with our sweet challenge for this week!  Sadly, this will be my final challenge with them, as I am stepping down from some of my design commitments!  But I will be checking them out and playing along for sure in the future!  Meanwhile, check out what the DT created and share yours as well over at the As You See It blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

A little creative activity...making loopy bracelets!  She has enough here to make hundreds, LOL!  This is my last day of watching her for the summer...she starts school (7th grade) on Monday!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP454 Hello from the Funny Farm

Hi everyone!  Yay, it's Sunday, and that means a new Paper Players challenge!  Jaydee is our hostess with a fabulous color one:

Love this one!  I just got a new stamp from Unity called Funny Farm, and I thought it would look fun in black and Mango Melody!  So here we go:

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

stamping my stack-o-animals in Memento Black ink then coloring the chicken with a combination of Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Blends, which created a perfect Mango Melody color!  I used the retired A to Z stamp on my square panel, and embossed my oval panel with the retired Perfect Polka Dots EF:

The sentiment is the best part of the set, LOL!  I stamped it down in the corner, and my card was done!

I think this would make a fun notecard or maybe even a cute birthday card!

Thanks for popping in today!  I hope you'll play along with our color challenge this week...you can check out what everyone on the DT created at the Paper Players blog!  See you there!

A few more birthday cards...I'm getting to the end, LOL!

Some animals cards, one from Elizabeth, the other from Gabriella...both, super cute!

and some pretty triple-panel cards from Shawn and Debbie!  Thanks, ladies!

I've gotten lots of inspiration from them!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB89 Tic Tac Toe Baby

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Retro Rubber Challenge, and we have a tic-tac-toe board for you today!  Check out these ideas:

No automatic alt text available.

I chose the middle row---embossing, patterned paper, and baby, because John's nephew and his wife are expecting another little boy next month!  I used the Inkspire Me sketch:

And here we go:

My image is from a Cornish Heritage Farm set from 2011 called Shoe Boutique, and it was stamped in Night of Navy, diecut and matted with a stitched circle of Crushed Curry:

My patterned paper is from Simple Stories called "Take Time", and I rounded the edges with my 1 1/4" circle punch (you can see how I did that HERE), then I did some dry embossing on my Granny Apple Green panel, and some heat embossing on my Night of Navy panel.  It was stamped with the A to Z stamp (2010) in Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder:

Finally, I stamped some stars from the Itty Bitties set (2013) and punched them out for my upper embellishments!  Lots of fun goodies on this little card!

I hope you'll play with our Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week...so many possibilities!  Share yours with us at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog!

Cassidy's teacher sent home some photos she had taken over the course of the year!  I really liked this picture from their Halloween celebration:

She has really changed from a girly-girl (sniff, sniff) and I am hoping her current phase is just that...a phase!  Otherwise, we're going to have a very long summer, LOL!  Be blessed and enjoy your day!

FF135 and IM346 Baby Shower Cards

Hi peeps!  I got in some stamping time yesterday; a customer asked me for a baby shower card in mint green and gray.  I scoured my favorite blogs and came up with a couple of sketches, and went to work!  The first one uses the sketch from Fab Friday (and I realize I forgot the bow!!!):

and a set called Little Cuties....I got this last year and never used it!!  I stamped the hobby horse in Memento Black, colored it with markers and blends, and paired it with some Close to My Heart papers:

The only shower stamp I have is from Teeny Tiny Wishes....I stamped it in Basic Gray, diecut and layered it and adhered it to the inside:

To give my customer a choice, I made another one; not quite mint green, but I thought these papers from Studio Calico were really cute!  I used the sketch from In(k)spire Me:

I used a couple of retired SU sets:  Nursery Necessities and A to Z:

I just love that elephant's little tail!!  A few layers and some Soft Sky twine were the embellishments, and I used the same sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge!

TSOT271 and SIP48 So Sorry

Hi everyone!  Hope you're having a good week so far!  Today, I've got a card using the Stamp Ink Paper challenge colors:

SIP Color Challenge 48 800

and the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch:

A friend of mine recently had to put her little pup down, and I made this to say how sorry I was:

I used DSP from Pretty Petals in Cameo Coral and a retired DSP from a couple years ago, and I think it is actually Soft Sky, but hopefully it's close enough to get by!  The image is from Papertrey's Tiny Treats Valentine set from a few years back; sentiment is from SU's Teeny Tiny Wishes; the gingham is SU's retired Gingham wheel, and the alphabet is SU's retired A to Z.  The circles were all diecut with Lil'Inker stitched circle dies:

I embossed the Chocolate Chip panel with the Arrows EF and added a heart and some brown pearls as a final finish!

Cassidy took her Baby Alive dolls for a little walk:

Unfortunately, they look like they saw a ghost!  Maybe they're just surprised to see the sunshine!  She loves them anyway!

Enjoy your day!

CMCC32 & TSSC326 & Another Recipe

DSCF4590

Happy Friday, peeps!  We made it to the weekend!  I must say, this has been a lovely August, weather-wise, here in SE PA!  Just beautiful!  Although tomorrow I am taking a test and will be stuck inside all day long, I have enjoyed the earlier part of the week!

Today I am sharing a quick little baby card; my niece will be having a little girl soon, and rather than do the traditional pink, when I saw the Colour Me…! monochromatic challenge of Pistachio Pudding, I thought that would be sweet to use!  I chose Smoky Slate as my neutral:

I also used the Technostamper sketch for this week.  I stamped the wee elephant from Zoo Babies in Smoky Slate, her ear in Pistachio Pudding, mounted her on a circle stamped with the retired A to Z, and added the sentiments from Celebrate Baby:

A touch of silver ribbon and some In Colors sequins finished it off.  And here’s the inside:

And here are the challenges for you:

Thanks for visiting today!

Using the plethora of zucchini in my garden, we made a Zucchini Apple Pie the other day.  DON’T LAUGH…..it tastes exactly like an apple pie.  In fact, Cassidy was helping me put the slices from the food processor into the pan, and she said, “Grammy, are these apples?”!!!  Here are a few pictures of the process:

Making the pie crust:

The zucchini are peeled, sliced and parboiled just until a bit crisp:

Mixed with lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon and cream of tartar, then into the shell it goes:

And the final product, after Grampy ate a few slices:

If you want THIS recipe, let me know. (Be sure to give me your email address!!!)   You can really pull a fast one on your friends---they will swear it’s an apple pie!!!  It’s DELICIOUS!

Paper Players 109

DSCF6172-002

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, with Anne Marie as our hostess!  She’s got a clean and simple challenge with a twist for us:

Surprisingly, I didn’t have too many stamps that were “pieceable”!!!  But I did find this little goose in the Storybook Friends set that lent itself to being pieced quite nicely!  It also fit in with the sketch challenge 137  from Stampin’ Royalty:

I did flip the sketch so that my goose wasn’t looking off the page!  Here ya go:

PP109-LeAnne

Not the most CAS card, but I did have some of these pieces already sitting on my desk, so there was a lot of simple going on!  Papers are from Floral District and Summer Smooches with Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade and Tangerine Tango cardstocks.

I did a little curvy banner with the Itty Bitty Banners die, and stamped my scalloped circle with A to Z.

Cassidy got a “new-to-her” doll stroller for her birthday:
