Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Wishing you a bit of whimsical good wishes today, as well as a prayer from Saint Patrick:

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me,

Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left,

Christ where I lie, Christ where I sit, Christ where I arise, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of every one who speaks to me,  Christ in every eye that sees me,

Christ in every ear that hears me.  Salvation is of the Lord.   Salvation is of the Christ.

May your salvation, Lord, be ever with us.

St Pat's Deco

Good Monday morning, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend...after a crazy snowstorm on Saturday, Sunday dawned cold and clear and here we are back to the work week!  I have my club girls meeting today, so this will be quick, and since St Patrick's Day is coming up, I thought I would share a little something I made to put with my seasonal decor:

Instead of making an Altoids mint tin, I decided to make a little spool decoration; I printed out a little Irish girl two times, reversing one of the images, and fussy-cut her out.  I did the same with the sentiment, then mounted her on a little dowel inserted in a vintage wooden spool.  I covered the spool with green papers, added a button and bow one one side, and a glimmer-paper shamrock (made from three punched-out hearts) on the other.  She is sitting on the little tiered tin on my kitchen table and she makes me smile every time I look at her!

Speaking of green (and smiling), I took Cassidy to a local high school musical production of Shrek; the role of Fiona was played by the oldest daughter of one of the sweetest families I know!  She's a senior this year, so this is her last high school performance, but I know she'll be singing her way through college as well.  Jessica brought her by so we could get some photos after the show:

She did such a great job, as did the whole cast!  Thanks for visiting today..enjoy it and be blessed!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Happy St Patrick's Day!  I don't send out cards for this holiday as a rule, but I did make a fun little easel card using a vintage postcard image!  And I think I'll enter it at The Sisterhood Of Crafters, since they are looking for easel cards this week!

I love her sweet face!

Inspired By #10 Feeling Lucky

Hi everyone!  It's time for another Inspired By challenge, and I chose to do an eclectic collage-style card, something I haven't done for a while!  It's almost one layer...the little tag and row of hearts are the only add-ons!  Here we go:

Almost all the images I used here are from an Artistic Outpost set called A Lovely Day; I just love their vintage style!  I stamped everything in Emerald Envy, stamping off the lighter images and using my Misti to get a good, clean, dark image for the bicycle and the sentiment:

I also used some Emerald Envy cardstock to diecut a row of hearts, and added a few more floating out of the bicycle basket!  I cut out a little tag and adhered the cut-out letters of "a lovely day" and added a brad and a wee piece of Emerald Envy ribbon:

And here's the photo that Laurel provided for us as a prompt:

Isn't that a happy little scene?!  I'm also entering this in the Cards in Envy Green Things challenge, too!  And truth be told, below is the first card I made for the challenge, but changed my mind after it was done:

I used the jar and sentiment from Jar of Love and the shamrock from Itty Bitties, embossing them in white, and then added florals from Bouquet Bunch.  A little doily is behind the jar, although it's hard to see, and it's all on top of a note card.  It's still cute and I am sure I'll find someone to whom I can send it!  Thanks for popping in today!  I hope you'll play with our pretty green challenge and share your creation with us at Inspired By!  Stay warm and safe today!

A little horsin' around; good thing Wayne is a good sport!:

TSOT311 and SUO169 A Lot of Green

Happy Friday, peeps!  I rarely make St Patrick's Day cards, but when I saw the SU Only Challenge this week, which is "Celebrating Green", as well as the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch with the option of plaid, I just had to pull out this golden oldie stamp set, Gift Givers!  So here's the sketch:

And here's my card!

I had already chosen the green plaid paper from the Warmth & Cheer pad before I even saw the plaid challenge!  I stamped my little leprechaun on some watercolor paper and colored him in with an aquapainter and inks:

And how cool is it that our stitched ovals fit the sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes?!  I stamped, punched and diecut this sentiment for the inside:

I also added some embossing with the Cable Knit EF, some Gumball Green stitched ribbon, and a couple of mats in Garden Green and Basic Black!  I had fun making this one!  Thanks for stopping by!

My nephew Tim stopped by earlier in the week to give us an estimate on some work he may be doing for us; while he was taking measurements, Cassidy decided to draw his picture on the driveway:

'

We liked how his hair and his beard sort of encircled his head!  But the funniest part was when Uncle Timmy actually got down on the ground to compare his likeness!  Not bad! I think his legs might be a little too scrawny, though!

Enjoy the blessings of the day!

TSOT Vintage St Pat's

Happy Tuesday, all!  We've got another sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday, with the optional theme of St Patrick's!  Here ya go:

I don't have too many St Patrick's Day stamps, but I have collected a few digital images of vintage St Pat's postcards, so I printed one out to use for my card today:

My base was Naturals Cream, embossed with the Elegant Dots EF; my banner is Glorious Green (remember that color??) and Basic Gray on which I stamped a grid (Simon Says Stamp) and then filled in each grid with a shamrock from Itty Bitties....you can see some gray shamrocks on the digital image itself.  The sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life, and it was stamped in Garden Green on a banner diecut from the Large Numbers die....I shaded it a little with some Sahara Sand ink to make it look 3D:

I think this little Irish lass is quite fetching, don't you?!  I hope you'll play along with us today--you have two weeks to participate and you can show your card off on the blog or on the TSOT Facebook page--either one is acceptable!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Cassidy sportin' a new hat Mommy crocheted....hot off the hook!

Enjoy your day!

St Patrick’s Day Projects

DSCF1285

Phew, happy Friday, everyone!  This week needs to be OVER!  I am looking forward to some warmer temps this weekend!  Since my sister already received her little St Pat’s gift, I can share it with you now:

DSCF1280

This is another little altered Altoids tin, decorated with some vintage St Pat’s images I gathered from around blogland!  I have to admit that the inside of this one is not as well-done as I would have liked.  I need to color the edge of my cut images so they don’t show white; I really dislike that and I didn’t realize how bad it looked until I saw the photos.  Better next time!  Anyway, here is the inside:

I used some generic DP I had in my stash for the backgrounds, along with some green clover metallic decorations I had hanging around.  Since I had a dearth of St Patrick’s Day sentiments, I was wondering what to do….then I remembered I had a nice set on My Digital Studio, so I printed a few out and added them to the inside!  I had so much fun with them, I did a miniature collage and printed that out for the back of the tin:

I added some gold hearts and green rhinestones, just for fun, as well as overstamped it with the Linen background stamp (ret), just to give it some texture.  Then, I added a few more sentiments and enlarged it, printing it out on a standard piece of cardstock, and made a little collage poster to hang on my wall (well, it’s not hung, it’s actually tacked up with a couple of cheapie thumb tacks I had hanging around!!!):

DH actually commented on this….and he never notices ANYTHING like this!  I haven’t used MDS for a while, so it was fun to play around!  Thanks for visiting today!

Lots of Green!

DSCF3262
Yay, it’s Friday!  I have a couple green cards today for you!  The first is a St. Pat’s card, and it is for the Papercraft Star challenge this week:
I printed out a vintage St Patrick’s Day postcard and mounted it on some green cardstock and DP from MME:
DSCF3261
There is hardly ANY stamping on this card!!  Just this tiny little tag, from another postcard, cropped and cut out, on which I added a little shamrock from Itty Bitties:
DSCF3263
This is also for the Just Add Ink challenge, which is to “just add green”!
My second card is a birthday card for my nephew, and it uses scraps from the above card and an image from The Alley Way:

I colored my little frog with Copics, cut him out and popped him up;  the sentiment was punched with a circle punch and then sponged through a smaller mask for a fun effect!  The inside of the card has a computer-generated sentiment:  “We would never frog-et your birthday!”

This card is for the Kraft Journal’s Lucky Green challenge as well as the  Retrosketches sketch 54:
Thanks for visiting today!
Cassidy is learning to play with a glue stick, stickers and punches!  She really likes putting the punched pieces back into the cardstock, like a puzzle!  Smart kid!
