Merry Monday 122
Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a marvelous weekend! Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes for Cassidy! She enjoyed her day very much! Now, on to today’s challenge! Sue is our hostess for Merry Monday this week! Check out this gorgeous inspiration:
Since I seem to be running at warp speed these days, I chose a very simple Christmas silhouette from Come to Bethlehem for my card, matting it on Brushed Silver and Brushed Gold mats:
I added a wee bit of gold embossing with the star, then added some tiny stars with my gold Painty pen. It just added a little interest to the sky!
My final touch was a bit of silver ribbon. Clean, simple, and easy to reproduce! The design team came up with some stunning samples…be sure to check them all out, and share your Christmas creation with us as well! Just remember, it’s not that far away!! There is still time to get a wee bit ahead!
A photo of the birthday girl (I’ll share more as the week goes on!):
Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 73
Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s another Paper Players challenge with Jaydee as our hostess. This week she has chosen a clean and simple color challenge:
Sometimes I miss that “clean and simple” part, but this week, I got it! I pulled out a Christmas set I hadn’t used in a while, Come to Bethlehem:
I stamped the image with Night of Navy, added satin ribbon and some rhinestones, then mounted it on a piece of silver Shimmer Paper—ooh, that stuff is wonderful! I made a little star with some scraps of it as well:
It is pricey, though, so here’s a little tip (probably most of you know how do to this already), but you can cut out a frame if you have an Exacto knife or a cutter that has an channel blade. Position your paper so that the right side is on the 1/2” mark on the right side of the channel (or further, if your mat needs to be larger):
Bring your cutting blade down from the top 1/2” and begin cutting, stopping 1/2” from the bottom of your mat.
Turn your mat and do the same thing on the other three sides, starting and stopping 1/2” from the edge. You’ll have a nice little frame that your stamped image will sit on, and another little piece of cardstock to use for another project:
Here’s the inside of the card, using the sentiment from the same set:
I hope you find some time to play along with this clean and simple color challenge; you can see what the other designers came up with on the Paper Players blog and directions for playing along!
How do kids know instinctively that a pile of leaves is something to play in???
She was pretty pleased with herself for “helping” Grammy put the leaves in the wheelbarrow! Thanks for visiting today!

Card Monkey 64
Happy Saturday, everyone! I was blessed enough to be asked to be a guest designer again for those sweet girls at a la Card Monkey!
Here’s the sketch & challenge:
Well, that fits right into my one-a-week Christmas card challenge to myself! I chose to do CAS, as the days before convention are flying by!
Elegant Eggplant is a color I rarely use, so I thought it would be nice to make a monochromatic Christmas card with this regal color! Welcome Christmas has such lovely silhouettes, and each word from the sentiment from Come to Bethlehem was inked with markers and stacked so I could punch them out with a circle punch:
I also added the sentiment from Welcome Christmas on the inside:
That Patterns DP looks so nice with this! I hope you have some time to play along with those Card Monkeys, too!
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Welcome Christmas, Come to Bethlehem
- Paper: VV, Elegant Eggplant, Elegant Eggplant Patterns DP
- Ink: Elegant Eggplant
- Acc: Circle Punch, Nestie, Pearls, Crochet Trim
Joy!

CAS125, LIM Sketch 2
Happy Monday! After a very busy weekend, I am having trouble getting back into my stamping groove….so bear with me! Today’s Christmas card uses the SCS CAS125 color challenge of Red, White and Black, and the sketch from Less is More:
This card really doesn’t do much for me, but it is another one to add to my stash for December, so I guess that is a plus! I think I should have added some glitter or something. Anyway, here’s a little smile for you:
Hopefully when she’s able to REALLY use the vacuum, she’ll still be smiling!
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Tree Trimmings, Come to Bethlehem
- Paper: WW, Real Red Prints DP
- Ink: Real Red, Stazon
- Acc: 1” Circle Punch, Baker’s twine, Dimensionals
