CTD153 & SC344
Yesterday I was playing around with some vintage elements I bought at my LSS and realized they fit the Color Throwdown challenge this week, so I went with it! It also uses yesterday’s sketch challenge 344 from SCS:
I am not sure you can actually see the sketch for all the elements, though! Here you go:
I really enjoyed making this card, seeing all the “B” items I could come up with: bees, baby carriage, bow, button, Bingo, believe, and B-day! Here is why I had bees on the brain:
We discovered this hanging near our driveway a few days ago! Yikes! Thankfully it is up fairly high so the hornets aren’t bothered by us, or us by them! It’s really fascinating to see, but I’ll wait until winter to get a really close-up look! Meanwhile, here are some closer views of the card:
AND, I’ve been doing some sewing! I found this pattern yesterday while perusing Gwenny Penny, and dug into my fabric drawer, got some Mary Engelbreit material I had stashed away and made my wee one a “bapron”:
Very helpful for those messy meals!
And guess what’s on the bias tape? Yep, BEES!
And in case you’re wondering why her hair looks funny:
Thanks for visiting today! If you have any questions about the products I used in my card, just shoot me an email!

Paper Players 40
Happy Sunday to you! Nance is your hostess for the Paper Players today, and she has brought you a nice sketch again:
I took a little artistic liberty with my card and moved a couple of the elements; I hope that Nance won’t mind! I needed a birthday card for my SIL and she likes to sew, so I made a real quick card incorporating the corner of a piece of DP from the Sew Suite collection:
I just love how that little needle & thread comes around the corner! I made a tag with the Tags & More diecut, but it was a little longer than I wanted so I repositioned it on top of the cutting area and ran it through my Big Shot again to get a smaller tag:
I cut a tiny smidge out of the tag and adhered it over the needle so that it would look as if the needle was sewing through the tag!!! Corny, I know!! The little piece left from the “recut” was adhered to the back of the button card and used to fasten the Pear Pizzazz seam binding:
Since the colors were soft, I used Sahara Sand to stamp all my images instead of black; I think it adds a more feminine touch! Although I did stamp the sentiments on the inside in Stazon Black:
Hope you have a chance to play along with the other Paper Players using this sketch! Be sure to check out all the samples at the Paper Players blog—Happy Stamping!!!

Vintage Christmas Dare
Today’s SCS Featured Stamper is Dara, and I chose this card to CASE. I made my card a Christmas card, keeping up with my own personal challenge, using a Crafty Secrets set and some Graphic 45 paper:
As simple as it is, I just love this card---these images just make me smile! I did a little bit of stitching and I broke out Buckaroo Blue---haven’t used that ink or paper for a LONG time! It coordinates nicely with Not Quite Navy, which I used to stamp the image on the bottom panel. I also made a French knot with some embroidery floss for my snowflake….just wanted to add a little something without overpowering it! Here’s the inside:
Thanks so much for stopping by today! It is COLD here in PA; I think spring forgot it has arrived! Lots of stuff to do today, so that’s it for now!

Sewing Seeds
I finally got my sewing machine back, and after seeing this card by Darlene this morning, I thought I would make a card with some Crafty Secret Cotton Scraps I had been hoarding. I love this Boxer paper by Basic Grey and I thought it went well with the veggies in my scrap. I am not crazy about my sentiment background, but I've already adhered it down, so it's there to stay. The button is from my sewing stash. This was a fun easy card to do, the most time-consuming thing was getting out my sewing machine! Thanks for visiting.
