IB193 Joyful Christmas Friends

Hey there, stampers!  Time for a new Inspired By challenge!!!  Danni always has a knack for finding adorable inspirations for us!  Check these out:

Absolutely adorable!  And here's our optional sketch, which I did use this week:

Now how in the world could you choose between these two?  That little acorn was just so stinkin' cute, but I did go with the Christmas one in the end!!  I pulled out some real vintage sets from my stash and just started stampin'!

My main images are from SU's retired Jolly Bingo Bits; the background stamping is from several different sets from Cosmo Cricket (which I've had for years and don't think I've ever inked up!!!) and Purple Onion as well as the tiniest stamp set in my entire collection, the little red star, from Close to My Heart!

I did some stamping with one of the Stitchery stamps on the edges, added some black and white plaid DSP, and finished it off with a "joy" banner (Cosmo Cricket)and some Real Red braided trim:

The inside sentiment is also from Cosmo Cricket:

I had lots of fun creating this...a little busy (I seem to be saying that a lot lately) but still fun!  I hope you'll find some fall or holiday inspiration from our prompts this week!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share it with us at Inspired By!

When my nephew and his family visited Montana, they stayed with a friend who happens to be a wildland firefighter!!  Jameson and Sawyer were thrilled to get into the big truck he uses on the job:

But Jameson might have to grow a little bit to fill up this helmet!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Eden Christmas Card

Hello, peeps!  I am running behind schedule today but I have gotten a lot of chores done, LOL!  I have a silly card that I will be sending to Cassidy for Christmas, so don't tell her!  I recently got some fun vintage-themed stamps from Rare Image Rubber Stamps, and there was a dog one that looked so much like Eden, I just had to use it on her card:

Now, the silliness is Eden's Santa hat, of course, but I thought it would fun to play with the Double D Challenge this week:

Eden's Santa hat is from an old SU stamp set, still mounted on wood, called Jolly Bingo Bits! I stamped it in Real Red and added a little shading and some Wink of Stella!

She also got a new collar (Playful Pets Trinkets) and some glimmer star embellishments!  I used the sketch from Global Design Project:

I flipped the layout to better serve my image; the sentiments both outside and in are from Scrapbook.com's Heartfelt Christmas:

And now, here are Eden and Ginger (and Cassidy) in their finest Christmas sweaters:

They didn't last long in them....I guess dogs and sweaters just don't really get along!  Thanks for popping in today---off to do more chores!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Sahara Christmas

Hey peeps! I am hunkering down, making Christmas cards to share with my club girls as well as to mail out!  The Classic Christmas DSP that SU is currently selling really appeals to me...those little prints in traditional colors are so soothing!  I chose the Sahara Sand ones to make a couple of cards over the weekend!

The first one is for the Jingle Belles challenge "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear"...they want something clear on your card; I also used the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch:

I dusted off my white Stazon ink and went to work, stamping some snowflakes on window sheets for my simple card:

Of course, it's always a challenge to photograph something "clear"....here is a picture of the windows showing the edge of the back of the card peeking through the windows:

I added sentiments from Itty Bitty Christmas on the front as well as the inside, strategically placed so it didn't show through the window!

The second card also uses the Sahara Sand patterns; this is for the JUGS challenge which is triangles:

This card is a wee bit shorter than a standard-sized card; I had a piece of cardstock left over from another project and just decided to use it for a card. I used the Stitched Triangle dies, cutting four from the various patterns, adding Soft Suede "trunks" and gold metallic pearls for an embellishment:

This sentiment is from Wrapped in Christmas...such a pretty one, too!

Thanks so much for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them." Hebrews 6:10

Snowflakes in April

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My Christmas card this week uses three challenges!!  The first is from  52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown:

As well as Merry Monday's snowy theme:

And the beautiful color challenge from In{k}spire Me:

Because the colors are a little unusual for a snowy Christmas card, I went "light" on the snowflakes, using several different sets, stamping them in the challenge colors on a Whisper White base.  I added a sentiment from Paper Pumpkin in Blackberry Bliss, a retired metal frame from waaaaaaay back, some glimmer ribbon and linen thread:

The frame actually had eyelets on both sides, but I trimmed one end off to make it look more like a tag!  The sentiment is from Papertrey's Believe set, and you can't see it, but the letters are sparkly because I used Wink of Stella on them!

The white panel was simply mounted on a mat of Blackberry Bliss and adhered to a Sahara Sand card base!  Another for my stash!

Enjoy your day!

MM182 For The Birds

DSCF3170

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Today’s card is one of those cards…you know the ones I mean.  You get an idea in your head and spend a lot of time on it and somehow, it just doesn’t pan out the way you’d hope it would, but you’ve spent so much time on it, you can’t bear to throw it away…..yeah, this is one of those cards (sigh).  I was happy to see that “birds” were the theme of the Merry Monday challenge:

Isn’t he a cutie?  Well, don’t go looking for him on my card….not there.  But, here it is, nonetheless:

I am not sure which is the worst….the droopy-looking “icicles”; the family silhouetted against the screaming red “wallpaper”…or my poor little bird all alone on the windowsill:

DSCF3169

Nah, he’s probably the best part of the whole card!  I do love the background too, but it maybe should have been saved for a different card…..oh well, I like the inside:

I used a bunch of retired sets here, so if anyone wants to know what’s what, just email me!  I think I might hang up my stamping hat if my mojo doesn’t return soon, LOL!

For lunch yesterday, Cassidy was eating a take-home salad from her dinner the night before…

She pointed to the ranch dressing at the bottom of the cup and said, “Look, Grammy!  A uvula!”

DSCF3159

Oh my goodness…how does she come up with these things?  Yep, looks like a uvula to me, too!  Now, with that image in your head, enjoy your day!

Happy Monday, everyone!  Debbie has a fun challenge for us today at the Merry Monday blog:

Yum, don’t those cupcakes look good?  I went for some traditional food on my little notecard:

ColourQ212

DSCF8754
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Another fun ColourQ challenge from Arielle today—don’t these little critters look like they would be fun to make?
I think my crafty mojo got scared away this week, because my card today is pretty straightforward….nothing real spectacular here!  I did use the Paper Craft Crew sketch from this week, because I love my “threes”:
Card Sketch #63
And here we go:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ212 Spooky Bingo Bits Halloween Stampin Up
I used some scary images from Jolly Bingo Bits but I mounted them on some black gingham paper….that means they can’t be too scary, right?  I added a little black picket fence (Martha Stewart punch)  and my sentiments, and on the inside, I added a little verse, one of my favorite Halloween stamps:
DSCF8757
And you say, “Oh how nice…she stamped it on a separate piece of paper and matted it with a nice black mat….doesn’t this look extra-special?”…..well, it’s because I stamped the sentiment UPSIDE DOWN….and it was really nice & straight, too!  Grrrr!  So this is how you fix it!  LOL!  Enjoy your day, and be sure to play along with us at the ColourQ blog….you will be amazed at how the other girls used these colors---they’re NOT just for Halloween!
Cassidy had her first pony ride last week….of course you have to wear cowgirl boots to ride a pony!!
