CASCS332 Crafty Thanks

Happy Wednesday, peeps, happy middle-of-the-week day!  Yippee!  I needed a thank you card for a customer, so I checked out some challenges, and the CAS Colours and Sketches was a double this week:

I chose to use current SU colors, so I substituted Rococo Rose for Primrose Petals, Call Me Clover for Emerald Envy, and Soft Seafoam for Pistachio Pudding!  I used It Starts with Art, stamping my images with Stazon Black and softly watercoloring them in:

I kind of forgot about the "clean and simple" portion; I probably should have left off the lacy border that comes with the Arts and Crafts dies, but it was just so pretty, I couldn't resist!  I also added some Rose Metallic Thread behind my image and a teeny sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings:

I added a sentiment and scissors from our other crafty set, Crafting Forever, on the inside:

Such pretty colors and an awesome sketch!  Thanks for popping in today!

Piggy back in the pool!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP437 Do Something Creative

Happy Palm Sunday, peeps!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, where Ann has given us a  beautiful color challenge:

What beautiful spring colors!  My first thought was to do a floral, but I like to try to think out of the box a wee bit, so I pulled out Crafting Forever, which I haven't used in a long time, and went to work stamping, coloring and cutting:

And my sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

This was a lot of fun to make!  First, I stamped all the pens in Memento ink, then colored them with SU Blends and fussy-cut them out.  To assemble the card, I used a piece of retired Daffodil Delight DSP for the top layer, then a piece of Balmy Blue, on which I stamped a floral image from an older Paper Pumpkin set.  I colored it in with the light shade of Balmy Blue Blend and added a few little speckles.  The little scallop of Calypso Coral finished the sketch!  My final addition was the sentiment panel, which was diecut with a Stitched Shapes Framelit and accented with a Grapefruit Grove faceted gem, which I colored with a Calypso Coral Blend:

I left the bottom portion plain to offset the busy upper portion!

I am willing to bet you could come up with some amazing projects with these colors...I hope you'll share yours at the Paper Players blog!  Meanwhile, check out what the DT did:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI174 Shades of Gray Speed Stamping

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, the end of the week and time for another As You See It challenge!  Does this one spark your interest?!  I have never seen this movie so it might not have the same meaning for you...for me, it means Speed Stamping (less than 10 minutes) in any and all shades of gray!  Fun!

At first, as I thought about this challenge, I was a little stumped, but then realized there were lots of images that I could have used!  While going through some of my retired DSP, I came across this knit paper and thought all the little images from Hand Knit would coordinate and be fun and easy to do.  I assembled my supplies, set the timer and went to work:

I managed to finish in 8 minutes and 42 seconds!  I stamped all the images in Smoky Slate ink, then diecut them with the Stitched Shapes square framelits.  I quickly colored them in with a Smoky Slate blend marker:

stamped the sentiment from Crafting Forever down in the right hand corner, adhered them on my DSP, matted it with another layer of Smoky Slate and adhered it to my card.

The only little "extra" I did was to stamp another ball of yarn, quickly cut it out and adhered it with a mini dimensional!!  I love monochromatic cards and this was a fun challenge!

Now, how fast can you stamp?  Show us your creations stamped in 10 minutes or less over at the As You See It blog!  Can't wait to see them!

Cassidy signed up for karate....she really loved her introduction and can't wait to learn some moves!  She's already got the "HI-YAH" down pat!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTS268 Just A Note

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a busy day ahead, so this uber-CAS card was perfect for me!  I thought of this idea last night before drifting off to sleep (does that happen to you?) and couldn't wait to put it to paper this morning!  I used the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch for this week:

and the cute set Crafting Forever to make my card:

I stamped the pens in Memento ink and colored them with SU Blends in light and dark Old Olive, dark Pool Party, dark Daffodil Delight and dark Calypso Coral, as well as light and dark Smoky Slate:

I stamped the sentiment from Better Together on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and diecut it along with a mat of Pool Party, popped it up on dimensionals and it was done!  Easy peasy!

I have a few pictures from my nephew's wedding on Saturday...I am not very good at taking pictures at an event, I prefer to just enjoy it, rather than trying to get my phone out, get it to the camera mode, etc, etc....so I don't get very many shots, LOL!  I did get this one of the beautiful bride coming in the church on her dad's arm:

And after the ceremony, coming through the arched swords:

and of course, a kiss:

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP118 Just A Note

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I was able to stamp a little bit yesterday after I ran all my errands (but my stamp room looks like a cyclone hit it--MUST do a clean-up) and made a little card for a customer using the Global Design Project sketch:

I have not used this particular pattern of Pick a Pattern DSP, but Cassidy was stamping something for her teacher yesterday (which she wouldn't let me photograph!) and I tried to get her to use it, but she didn't like that there was a paint palette on it, so I just decided to use it myself.  She did use the Crafting Forever stamp set, so I thought while it was out, I'd use it too:

I stamped the three images and did a little coloring on each one, either with an aquapainter and ink, or a marker, then cut them out and mounted them on a stitched circle.  I added some Pick a Pattern washi tape and some retired Strawberry Slush baker's twine, then added a sentiment from Better Together, stamped and embossed in white:

The whole thing was mounted on a Crumb Cake card base.  I love this sketch, I am sure I'll be using it again!

So even though I didn't get a picture of the front of the card Cass made for her teacher, I did snag a couple of her during the creative process:

This girl LOVES markers and loves to color in backgrounds!  And although it was supposed to be a Christmas card, I am sure no one would begrudge her this sweet card, especially when you're told you're the best teacher in the WORLD!

And I hope you, my best blogger friends in the world, have a blessed day!

Crafting Forever Just a Note

Just a quick card for this Saturday, peeps!  I used the pens from Crafting Forever; I cut mine apart so I could reposition them,  but for this card, I just put them side by side and stamped them repeatedly on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock in Basic Black ink, then colored them with my (gulp) Lemon Lime Twist marker.  It's not so bad when it is paired with black!!  And this was very easy to stamp and color in!

To give some interest to the black cardbase, I embossed it with the Seaside embossing folder, then added a sentiment from Wood Words; I also stamped a single pen on the inside:

Easy and fun!

My niece came over to see how the house was progressing and brought her two girls...they are eleven months apart and keep her hopping!  Two-year-old Emma was playing peek-a-boo between the studs John put up for our new bedroom closet...just check out the face on that little rock-and-roller:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP344 Create

Happy Sunday, peeps!  And Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there as well!  Claire is our Paper Players hostess today and at first, her color challenge threw me for a loop!!  Look at these bright colors!

THEN....I remembered that I had just gotten this new set from the upcoming catalog (and I have to tell ya, I just about jumped out of my chair when I saw it...I love sets like this!) and I knew it would be perfect for these colors!  So here we go, introducing Crafting Forever:

Before I get to the details of my card, let me show you the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch that I used:

Now about the card....not only does it use a new, upcoming set, it also uses a ready-to-retire set (Gorgeous Grunge, boohoo) and an already-retired set (Creative Elements).  I love mixing stuff up!  I stamped my image on thick white cardstock because it accepts watercoloring well, and stamped it again on some older retired DSP to create my pot.  Then I colored all the brushes with an aquapainter and ink, and finally, added some color splatters on the card front.

I heat-embossed the "create" in white ink and embossing powder for my horizontal panel:

And I had originally planned to use this sentiment from the new set instead of "create", but it didn't fit, so I diecut it out and plopped it on the inside!

I hope that you'll have some fun with Claire's colors this week....there are a lot of pretty samples done by the DT, and you can see them here, or on the PP blog:

And I have NO idea what kind of glasses these are....obviously some sort of gamma ray, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
