Jingle Belles Pink Christmas

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The Jingle Belles have a pink Christmas card challenge in honor of Breast Cancer Month! What a nice gesture--they're donating money for each card submitted! I am throwing my hat in the ring with this one:

I used Waffle Flower's Postage Stamp dies and Christmas stencils in shades of Sweet Sugar Plum, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Bubble Bath and Crumb Cake to create my card:

I used the Postage Collage stamp and a little Christmas stamp from Sweet & Sassy to add my little "stamp" icons in Versafine Black and Crumb Cake.  The inside of the Sweet Sugar Plum card was stamped with a goodie-but-oldie stamp from Amy R's Handy Christmas Greetings:

I still need some practice with my stenciling, but I'll keep trying!

John took my nephew and his sons Jameson and Sawyer fishing on Saturday on John's new (to him) boat:

They only caught one catfish, which they threw back, and two eels...yuck!  That was quite the experience, John said!  But they had fun and it was a beautiful day on the river!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.  Genesis 1:20-21

AHSC590 Sparkly Snowflakes

Happy Monday, everyone! Finally, we had a glorious weekend, weather-wise!  John was able to take me out on the boat and the weather was perfect! Looking forward to it again!  It's time for a new Atlantic Heart Sketch, and honestly, I really bungled this one! Here's the sketch:

Sometimes when a sketch has flowers, I try to NOT do flowers....I like to do something different! I thought snowflakes would be a nice substitution!  After many, many trials and errors, I finally ended up with this...not really the effect I was going for, but after spending so much time, I just gave up:

I didn't have anything doily-related big enough to work for the right side of my card, so I embossed a piece of white cardstock with the Dotted Circles embossing folder and cut it down with a circle die. I found a snowflake element in my stash so I adhered that to the top. I then diecut several silver glimmer snowflakes using various dies and layered them around the outer edge:

One thing that did work out well was this cute little sentiment from a SSS stamp set called Let It Snow:

And since I did it in silver on Balmy Blue, I added some silver sequins and blue gems for embellishment all around my snowflakes!  I heat-embossed another silver sentiment on the inside and finished it off with a leftover snowflake:

It will definitely bring a bit of zing to the recipient come this Christmas!  I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week!  Check out the blog on Wednesday to see ALL the creations from the Design Team; meanwhile, put on your creative thinking caps and play with us too!

No boat pictures today, but I thought I'd share a video of some hummers that have been frequenting my feeder lately.  There are probably five or six of them altogether, swooping through the air, chasing each other in and out of the trees. We have three feeders and they go to all of them!  This particular one sticks to the window over my sink (thanks, Sheilah!) and if I am very still, I can watch them....which I do, instead of doing my housework, LOL!  Here we go:

I read that they are filling up in anticipation of their long migration which will be coming soon!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Celebrate The Season

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I've been missing my stamp room today...it took me two days to get this card done, LOL!  But between laundry, picking stuff from the garden and work, I finally finished it!  So here we go:

This is for a couple of challenges; the Inspire.Create sketch, and the Retro Rubber Fall Scenes challenge:

I used several older stamp sets for this card....I had to do a lot of searching to find the ages of them, LOL!  (I'll list the ages below in my "recipe"!)  I used some papers from Honey Bee Stamps for the background, placing them on a panel embossed with the Leaf Fall embossing folder.  I accented my little punkin with some Wild Wheat twine and they're hard to see, but there are silver sequins on the panel as well!

The sentiment and leaves from Beautiful Autumn (2020) was stamped on the inside:

I really enjoyed pulling out these older stamps and playing with them once again!  Thanks for visiting today!

So I just want to thank everyone who reached out to make sure I was okay during the last two weeks...my little community in Chester County was very close to where the escaped prisoner was hiding, although we were never in danger as he was never that close to us.  He was close to Longwood, where my brother works, and the area where he was captured was relatively close to John's sister's home, but thankfully it is all over now.  The Avondale State Police barracks to where he was transported was the nearest to us but he was in good hands there!  So happy that K9 did his job perfectly, and we are grateful to the countless police officers as well. It was brutally hot last week and the area in which the escapee was hiding was thick and dense. It's easy to be an armchair critic when we're sitting in our nice cool homes and they are out in the thick of it.  I am just glad it's over!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC518 Hymn Block Sympathy Cards

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I had a fun night stamping with some of my friends last night!  I may share those cards later!  Today I have two sympathy cards...why do they always seem to come in threes? A sweet church family friend passed away, so I wanted to send a card to her husband and daughter.  I roughly used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch for them:

I found some beautiful papers from Carta Bella's Gather at Home and Home Again pads and here's what I came up with:

Some of the papers have a woodgrain pattern, which I am interpreting as the horizontal stripes on the sketch, LOL!!  I stamped hymns from the Sweet & Sassy Hymn Blocks set; this one was stamped in Soft Succulent ink, diecut with a stitched square die and matted with some Blushing Bride cardstock.

I fussy-cut a floral from one of the papers as well:

The second one is simpler and very loosely fits the sketch; different woodgrain, different hymn, different flower:

On the inside of both Soft Succulent cards, I stamped a Bible verse from an old Our Daily Bread Designs:

Thanks so much for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

IC130 Strength for Today

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Hope those of you who are hosting the big turkey day tomorrow are right on schedule!  I have a simple card today using the wide-open sketch from Inspire.Create:

My sweet stamping friend/church co-worker/small group prayer warrior Robyn had knee surgery earlier this week, so I wanted to make a get-well card for her.  The sketch left everything to one's imagination!  I pulled out some pretty Prima Farm Sweet Farm papers and a Hymn Block stamp from Sweet & Sassy and this is what I came up with:

I love these words from Great is Thy Faithfulness; I stamped them directly on to the DSP in Merry Merlot ink using my Stamparatus:

The papers also have lots of little country-related images, so I snipped a couple out, mounted them on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, added some Braided Linen Trim and mounted it all on a Merry Merlot card base:

And I just realized as I was writing this that I stuck the card in the envelope and never signed the card.  Sigh....hopefully she'll get a giggle out of my faux pas!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP574 CAS Winter Deer

Hello stampers!  Is it cold where you are?  Brrrr!  It's certainly been a cold weekend here in southeast PA!  Claire's challenge for us this week at the Paper Players certainly is appropriate:

Remember that this is a CAS challenge!!

Oh my, I must tell you that this is the third card I made for the challenge!  First, I neglected to notice the "winter" description, so that one was put aside.  Then, the original headline was for animals or birds, but the prompt didn't say that, so I posted that one yesterday, LOL!  FINALLY, I came up with this one, which even though I only have "one" animal, hopefully, it's okay!

The CAS Christmas challenge is asking for Silver and Gold, hence my color palette!

Last year, SU featured some pretty gold embossed DSP called Wonder of the Season; I think I used one little piece of it!  But this newsprint-style pattern was a fun background for my silver-embossed reindeer:

I added a gold foil scalloped mat and some silver diecut holly leaves and silver berries!  I had also embossed a sentiment for the front but decided it looked better without, especially since this is a clean and simple challenge!  So I simply adhered it to the inside:

It all went on a plain Basic White card base!

I hope you'll come play with our clean and simple winter animals challenge!  It doesn't have to be a Christmas card....I am sure there are lots of other occasions for those cute little critters! Can't wait to see what you create...share it with us at the Paper Players and check out what the DT created as well!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC 449 Peace Shaker Card

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a fun shaker card for you today and it uses the sketch from Atlantic Hearts:

And here we go:

I started by making the shaker portion, using one side of a SU clear envelope as the front of the shaker, adhering it to a piece of printed paper on three sides of the back, filling with glitter and sequins, and then adhering the fourth side closed. I diecut three funky trees and adhered to the front, then attached the whole thing to a scalloped piece of Crumb Cake:

I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a Darice snowflake embossing folder, then adhered it to a Merry Merlot card base.  A wee bit of grosgrain ribbon and Linen thread formed a bow for the top. I stamped a really old Sweet & Sassy sentiment for the front and an equally old Waltzingmouse sentiment went on the inside:

This card really is prettier in real life than it shows in the photos!  You'll have to take my word for it!  Thanks for visiting today!
