Happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day to all! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I’ve got a color challenge for you:
I think these colors are sweet enough together to be used for a feminine creation, but they could be used just as well for a masculine creation, and that’s just what I did:
I am kind of stuck on Guy Greetings lately…there are so many great masculine images as well as sentiments, and I remembered that I had these cool dies from My Favorite Things (although I believe they are retired) that would work perfectly with the nautical theme I was going for! They were also perfect for the Match The Sketch sketch this week too:
First, I stamped my sentiment in Lost Lagoon, along with some “rope” from Sea Street in Sahara Sand, and cut it out with a circle die:
stamped the logbook from The Open Sea in Pistachio Pudding, diecut another circle and added an anchor diecut:
and repeated that with the world map image and the wheel diecut:
I added some Candy Dots and Linen thread for rope and mounted them on some stitched circles from Lil’Inkers in Lost Lagoon. Finally, I stamped the inside:
I thoroughly enjoyed creating this card and I now need to hide it away so DH doesn’t see his own Father’s Day card, LOL! I hope you’ll play with the Players this week with my color combination! You can see what the other designers created right here:
John was burning some pallets at the burn barrel on Friday and found a little red toad. I am so thankful that Cassidy is not afraid of “critters”! She held it willingly, although at one point, I thought she might squeeze it to death, but she let it go into the yard and then encouraged him to hop into the flower bed!
I can honestly say that in 60 years, I have never seen a red toad! Upon doing some research, I am pretty sure it was a Fowler’s toad! And a few minutes later we found a normal toad…not sure what its name was….and he got released down by the creek:
It’s fun to share nature with her! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
