CFC62 & CASology

 DSCF5573

Gosh, there are so many fun challenges out there that I want to try and just not enough time in the day!  A new one on the block is CASology, where you have a cue word each week!  This week’s cue word is “happy”!  I combined it with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week, which is to use a black base for your card.  The samples there are ADORABLE!  Anyway, there are lots of things that make ME happy on this card:

I love polka dots; I love scallops; I love the colors of yellow, black and white together, and I love heat embossing on vellum and coloring the underside with markers!!!  These all make me happy!

I also think these sentiments from Petite Pairs are two of the happiest!

I have a girlfriend whose birthday is almost exactly a month later than mine (and she reminds me that this makes her always YOUNGER than I am) so I’ll add a birthday sentiment to the inside when I figure which one I like best and this will be her card!!!  If you have any questions about my products or techniques, buzz me with an email!

Yesterday I shared how Cassidy spent time in the garden…..today, she’s playing in a drywall bucket full of bird seed.  This kept her occupied for at least half an hour.  She got some on the driveway, but it’s birdseed…..someone will eat it!!!

Spice Cake Tote Bag and a Card!

 DSCF5495
Happy Thursday, peeps!  The weekend is almost here!  Before I show you my card, I want to show you something I made after seeing it at convention last year!  SU was selling tote bags made from Spice Cake fabric in which to carry the new Simply Scored tool.  I KNEW I could make it myself, so I didn’t get one.  Now usually what I do, when seeing something that I can make, I go home and promptly forget about it.  This time, I didn’t forget….it took me a while, and it’s not exactly the same, but it works for me!

It’s nothing fancy, it’s not lined or anything, but it works wonderfully to take my Simply Scored and the Diagonal plate to workshops or just from one room to another when I have a stamp camp!  Here’s the flower that adorns it:

I also am sharing a card I made with the promotional set, Reason to Smile; this features a Cajun Craze card base, DP from Comfort Cafe, a shortened Two Tags diecut, the new large scalloped Embosslit, the Itty Bitty Banners stamp and die, and the new Naturals buttons!!!

You can see I didn’t quite get my diecut lined up properly when I shortened it, but I hated to throw it away, so I used it anyway!  I heat embossed the flower in white embossing powder, then watercolored it in!  Thanks for visiting today!

And how about a nature girl, playing in the dirt in our garden?

I’m telling you….who needs toys when you have rocks and dirt?

Paper Players 103 with NAC1 & CFC60

 DSCF5350
Happy Sunday and welcome back to another Paper Players challenge! Today Anne Marie is our hostess and she has chosen a bright, cheerful color palette to inspire us:
And here is my cheerful card, using the Reason to Smile set available this month:
PP103-LeAnne
This is also for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 60, which is to use text; my text came from the set Blessings from Heaven; I cut apart the “friend” sentiment and using my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped it in all the challenge colors:

I used the Fancy Fan embossing folder for my card base---I love that it is big enough to do this!  The daisy was stamped on some Patterns Daffodil Delight paper and fussy-cut; the leaves are from Floral District DP.  I stamped the sentiment from Petite Pairs and popped it up, then finished it on the inside with some more stamping, stamping, stamping, as my special friend would say:

I also used a sketch from a brand-new challenge site, Nacho Average Challenge!  (Oops, missed that deadline, lol!)  Cute name, huh?  Here it is:

I hope these colors inspire you to make something fun & cheerful this week!  We can’t wait to see what you create!  Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see ALL the amazing creations the designers are sharing – they are fabulous!
Nothing like a sliding board on a warm summer day!
