Merry Wishes

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!  The weekend is almost here!  I have another Christmas card for you; this one uses the color palette from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, as well as the sketch from FMS:

I remembered some fun black and white papers from a couple of years ago, so I pulled them out and went to work along with some other retired goodies:

These fun little trees from the Celebrate Everything DSP were just itching to be colored in with some pink and green shades of Blends!  I heat-embossed a sentiment from Oh, What Fun and backed it with some black and white gingham.  The zig-zag Granny Apple Green border was attached at the bottom, and I added a little line of embossing on the Magenta Madness card:

I added a sentiment from More Merry Messages on the inside:

It's fun to use these retro colors for Christmas occasionally!

And since the Krafty Chicks' challenge this week is Christmas, I am going to enter it there as well!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Merry Monday 85

DSCF9302

Happy Monday, everyone!  Back to work, school, whatever!  But it’s also Merry Monday, and Lesley has another gorgeous inspiration photo for us today:

I love these white-on-white challenges, but my cards never turn out quite as I envision!  I wanted to use some white felt to make snowflakes, but my felt was so soft, the flakes kept tearing apart!  I adhered some Adhesive Sheet to the back and that worked better, but I still wasn’t achieving the look I wanted.  I finally opted to do ONE snowflake, some snowflake embossing and a bold sentiment:

My upline gifted me with these beautiful Frosted Finishes embellishments, so one went in the center of my snowflake:

and I did a double diecut, one of white, a second of Sahara Sand, and offset them a little to make the sentiment really pop out:

And finally, I stamped the inside, again with Sahara Sand:

I did do another vanilla-on-vanilla card, this time using a technique my friend Billie told me about:  stamp on your card; spray a used dryer sheet with adhesive; stick it on your stamped image and cover it with glitter.  It’s too bad you can’t get the full “wow” effect of this:

I added a sentiment stamped on a shortened Chalk Talk die:

Believe it or not, this card took about 15 minutes, as opposed to, well, let’s say “MUCH LONGER” for the first one!!!

Hope you are inspired by this lovely photo and will share your creation with us as well.  You can see all the beautiful white-on-white cards on Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper!

By the way, I purchased this little apron at a craft fair over the weekend, and she LOVES it….for $5, it was a bargain!  Enjoy your day!  If you have any questions, shoot me an email! ♥

Paper Players 124

DSCF1311
Happy Sunday, everyone!  The temperatures are supposed to be in the 60s for the next couple of days, so it is a bit challenging to think about the Paper Players challenge for today, courtesy of Ann:
Oh, shoot, I can get happy about snowmen ANY day of the year!  I pulled out a vintage-style SU set called Winter is Calling for my card today:
PP124-LeAnne
I stamped it in Riding Hood Red, reminiscent of the redwork embroidery that used to be popular!  Of course, I added a liberal coating of glitter “snow”:

I mounted this on some pretty green and red holly DP, stitched around the edges, added a diecut holly and some retired SU ribbon, and I have another Christmas card for my stash!  I sure hope you’ll play along with the Paper Players today---be sure to check out the blog for the cute submissions and to show us yours as well!

Merry Monday 40

DSCF0585

Happy Chilly Merry Monday, peeps!  Another cool Yule sketch from Lesley:

I flipped the sketch on its side and stamped my little gingerbread man from Scentsational Season:

MM40-LeAnne

I can’t believe this is the first time inking this little guy up!  I added a sentiment from More Merry Messages and a cool piece of burlap that I received as a gift.  I adhered it with a couple of strips of Snail adhesive, and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter on top; the glitter adhered to the little openings and added a fun glittery touch!  Too bad it’s hard to see here:

Anyway, I hope you’ll play along with us!  It’s NOVEMBER already---time to get those Christmas cards started if you haven’t already!  Check out Always Playing with Paper to see all the other fun cards, and welcome my friend Sherry Eckblad as a new designer!!  If you have any questions about my card, please be sure to email me your questions!  Have a great day!

Upline Swap Card

DSCF8359

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!  Today I am attending an upline meeting, and I wanted to show you my swap.  I am a big fan of SIMPLE swaps…..I am too lazy to put tons of layers and intensity into my cards!!!  My theory is that if you are going to show these to your customers, they need to be easily replicated!  So I put the new Merry Mini punch pack to work along with some beautiful sentiments from More Merry Messages in the beautiful In Color, Midnight Muse:

DSCF8357

I just love this serene little scene!  You can’t tell from the photo, but the “snowflakes” on the hill are sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, too!  Sweet and simple!  I hope everyone likes them!

I also am doing a demo on how to make shabby ribbons, so I made this as my 3D gift:

DSCF8353

Can you believe that this is a toilet paper roll?  I pinned this from this post on Pinterest!  It’s covered with Fan Fair DP, on which I stamped several vintage images from Postage Due, Creative Elements, Artistic Etchings and Established Elegance in Island Indigo.  I added a shabby bow from Baja Breeze seam binding and some Fabulous Phrases sentiments.  This is what’s inside:

I made another one of these earlier, but had never posted it, so here you go:

A fun way to recycle!!!  Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for the latest Paper Players challenge!

RS28 & CCCB126

Happy Thursday, everyone! I have a sweet little Christmas card for you today, courtesy of Retrosketches sketch 28:
and the Polka Dot Palooza challenge from City Crafter Challenge Blog:

I used the polka-dotted Christmas tree from the new Scentsational Season set, stamped in Gumball Green, mounted on some polka-dotted Be of Good Cheer DP:

I added some polka-dotted embossing to my Primrose Petals panels too! I tried to make a 3d tree, but the dies are not symmetrical, so I just covered the non-matching edges with Dazzling Diamonds glitter!!!

A little star punched with the new Merry Minis Punch Pack added just the right topper, especially with a Copic-colored rhinestone! Love it!

You know how you get a bit suspicious when it gets very, very quiet in your house……..

Luckily, it was mostly band-aids! Enjoy your day!

Jolly Bingo Bits Christmas

DSCF8069-001

Happy Friday, peeps!  I’ve got another Christmas card for you this week, since my friend Rita reminded me that the Christmas Card Challenges for this week was to use THREE of something!  I do love my trios!

This is also for the sketch #82 from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday:

as well as the beautiful color challenge from the gals at Stampin’ Royalty:

Phew!  So let’s get to my simple card:

DSCF8068-001

Can’t get much easier than this…..some polka dotted banners in the challenge colors, three sweet little images from Jolly Bingo Bits and a beautiful sentiment from More Merry Messages!  I did do a little embossing with the Northern Flurry EF, but other than that, I didn’t even add any glitter or glitz!  I am likin’ it just the way it is!

DSCF8070-001

This isn’t really a very clear picture, but I just loved the “splash”!

Enjoy your day!
