Guest GD for 52CCT

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I was honored to be chosen to be a guest designer at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown with this card.  Their color challenge this month is a color one:

And although I won't be able to enter it, I used their sketch from last week!  So here we go:

I used some DSP panels of Tahitian Tide and Real Red for my vertical pieces, then stamped my CTMH Santa hat in Real Red ink and popped it up on a Stylish Shape circle using some dimensionals:

I added some Glimmer Paper stars in matching colors (see the white one???) and mounted everything on a Tim Holtz-embossed panel of Basic White, then a mat of Real Red and a card base of Tahitian Tide.  Sentiment is from the same CTMH set, diecut with a retired Ornate Frames die.  I had a few extra stars cut out, so I added them too!

I am also entering this at the CAS Christmas challenge, where this month, their challenge is Santa!

I hope you'll be able to play along with our color challenge this week!  Check out what the DT did at the 52CCT challenge! Thanks for popping by; enjoy your day and be blessed!

Green & White Christmas

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Gray and cloudy today here in PA, a good day to stay inside and stamp!  I have a quick little card for a few challenges:  Christmas Card Throwdown wants green and white; CAS Christmas wants a wreath, and it's Christmas week at Krafty Chicks

I pulled out some green and white glimmer paper and went to work:

My green glimmer wreath is a diecut from Avery Elle; the white stars are from SU's Cracker & Treat Box Dies and the bow is from SU's Pierced Blooms.  The sentiment is a no-name one I got from a friend, stamped with Tranquil Tide ink:

I had a few extra stars, so I added them to the inside along with a sentiment from Christmas to Remember:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP574 CAS Winter Deer

Hello stampers!  Is it cold where you are?  Brrrr!  It's certainly been a cold weekend here in southeast PA!  Claire's challenge for us this week at the Paper Players certainly is appropriate:

Remember that this is a CAS challenge!!

Oh my, I must tell you that this is the third card I made for the challenge!  First, I neglected to notice the "winter" description, so that one was put aside.  Then, the original headline was for animals or birds, but the prompt didn't say that, so I posted that one yesterday, LOL!  FINALLY, I came up with this one, which even though I only have "one" animal, hopefully, it's okay!

The CAS Christmas challenge is asking for Silver and Gold, hence my color palette!

Last year, SU featured some pretty gold embossed DSP called Wonder of the Season; I think I used one little piece of it!  But this newsprint-style pattern was a fun background for my silver-embossed reindeer:

I added a gold foil scalloped mat and some silver diecut holly leaves and silver berries!  I had also embossed a sentiment for the front but decided it looked better without, especially since this is a clean and simple challenge!  So I simply adhered it to the inside:

It all went on a plain Basic White card base!

I hope you'll come play with our clean and simple winter animals challenge!  It doesn't have to be a Christmas card....I am sure there are lots of other occasions for those cute little critters! Can't wait to see what you create...share it with us at the Paper Players and check out what the DT created as well!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB169 Anything Goes

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge, where we give some love to our older stamps!  Today our challenge is "Anything Goes"!!!

I chose to make a clean-and-simple Christmas card using the CAS Christmas Challenge colors of gray and red:

So here we go:

I used some Stamp Market stamps from around 2018 called Candy Cane Christmas, along with a snowflake folder and the Tailor Made Tags die, stamped in Real Red and Smoky Slate.  I added a Smoky Slate second tag, stamped with some white craft ink, and a "bow" of silver glimmer paper!

I love these colors together!  I hope you'll play with our Retro Rubber challenge this week....just make sure that your stamps are at least a year old and tell us their age!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Dana won tickets to a hemp farm hemp maze....sounds interesting, right?  I need to research the farm to see exactly what they do, but they had a lot of fun there. Cassidy took her friend Chloe, and they got to see buffalo (or maybe they're bison, not sure!!!) that were fed pumpkins (the seeds help them with parasites) while on the hay ride (along with someone's pet dog!):

Then on to the hemp maze:

And of course there were the usual countryside insects as well:

I'll share some more pix tomorrow!  Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS Twinchie Poinsettia

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Halfway through the week!  There are lots of Christmas challenges out there, so I am throwing my hat in the ring for a few of them!  SUO wants Christmas in July; CAS Christmas wants a poinsettia; and AAA Cards wants a "twinchie" with the option of Christmas!

So here we go:

I began by diecutting a mini poinsettia from Poppy Parade cardstock using the smallest Poinsettia dies.  I gave it a bit of shading with some Real Red ink, offsetting two layers together.  The Garden Green leaves are from the same die, and I used some gold Glimmer paper from a past Holiday mini catalog a few years back for the center.  It went on a panel of Basic White that I ran diagonally through the retired Basketweave embossing folder:

The "twinchie" can't be any bigger than 2", with nothing over the edge, so when I stamped my sentiment from the retired Seasonal Chums set, I cut it out with a Tasteful Labels die, then ran it through again to shorten it so it would fit within the 2" requirement.  I used the same Glimmer paper to create a scalloped frame to finish it off.  It all went on a plain Basic White card front!  Another for my Christmas card stash, and my Christmas club girls just might see this one some time because I really like how it came out!  Thanks for popping in today!

Yesterday at dusk I came home from a meeting and the sun was SO RED in the hazy sky, I just had to stop and take a picture.  It's not very clear, but hopefully you can get the picture!  My nephew told me it was reflecting the fires on the west coast!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Christmas

Hi there, stampers!  I am late, late, late today!  Just a lazy day; the sun has finally come out after a long dreary spell so I am making this quick!  I want to share a Christmas card with you that I made for the CAS Christmas Challenge, which is to use snowmen, as well as the Little Red Wagon, which is CAS.  I am also throwing in the colors from Color Throwdown:

I went uber-CAS on this one, just using stamps, ink and paper!  Not even any glitter!  Here we go:

I stamped the fun Tim Holtz snowman in Misty Moonlight, then masked him off and stamped the background scene in Soft Sky, adding some delicate snowflakes:

My sentiment, stamped in Smoky Slate, was from Poinsettia Petals!  Clean and definitely simple!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy what's left of the day and be blessed!

Merry & Bright

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Wow, I realized I have only made three Christmas cards so far this year...I need to step it up!  The CAS Christmas Card Challenge had a color combo that I love (they're have a birthday party too...check it out), so I decided to combine it with the Jingle Belles sketch and the Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge of Anything Goes:

I did originally color in an older SU angel stamp but changed my mind and went to a retired Elzybell image that I have always loved!  Stamped her on some watercolor with Stazon ink and went to work:

I diecut panels of some retired SU DSP with the Stitched Rectangle dies and adhered them to a Crumb Cake card base, then added my little image; she was watercolored with Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler inks.  There is Wink of Stella on the snow but sadly, you can't see it in the photo.  The snowflakes and embossed white sentiments are both from some retired Paper Pumpkin kits:

Another Paper Pumpkin sentiment and snowflake decorated the inside!  It was nice to add another card to my stash!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP524 CAS Snowy Scene

Happy Sunday, all! First, thank you to all those who wished us a happy anniversary!  John did like his card!   It's time for a new Paper Players challenge with the wonderful Claire as our hostess!  And it's a Clean and Simple challenge....those are just about my favorite!!  I love seeing what I can create with simply paper, stamps and ink!  Here's her prompt:

Love it!  And even though I think "Christmas" when I see the word snow, it certainly does not have to be a Christmas card, but it does have to be clean and simple...the guidelines are on our blog, so check it out if you need a refresher!  I knew just what stamp I wanted to use, so here we go:

This lovely scene is from Hero Arts, and I stamped it on Shimmery White cardstock, so it doesn't even need any glitter or glitz!

I diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die, then stamped a sentiment from the retired Good Greetings down in the corner:

I mounted it with some dimensionals on a Whisper White card front, stamped a matching "merry christmas" sentiment on the inside, and it was done!  CAS and oh so pretty!  And since it fits the criteria at the January CAS Christmas Card Challenge of silhouettes, I am entering it there as well!

And I might as well toss it in the Krafty Chicks ring as well...they're looking for Christmas!

I hope you'll play along with our CAS challenge this week at the Players!  Can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to stop by the blog and see what the designers created as well!

Not only was our anniversary yesterday, it was also this special guy's birthday!  We celebrated with lasagne and an ice cream cake--yum!

And believe it or not, 38 years ago on the very same day, my best friend was having a baby shower for me....and Dana was born exactly a month later!!  And look at her now!

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
