FMS293 Get Well Soon

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I have missed you, hope you missed me, LOL!  When we began our kitchen remodel, we also cleaned out a lot of stuff and decided to have a yard sale yesterday and today!  So I have been busy setting everything up!  Even though it rained yesterday off and on, we still had a lot of customers, and I am looking forward to some more today!  I had a card made for the FMS sketch challenge from Karren a day or so ago, but never got a chance to post it, so we here go!

I pulled out some older papers from a little 6x6 pad from My Mind's Eye called Oliver; I just loved the little collage of images down in the corner:

I didn't have a circle or oval die big enough to cut my shape, so I did it free-hand, then stamped some flowers on the rounded edge with a retired stamp called Vintage Vogue.  The kraft paper card base was stamped with French Script, and I also stamped a little key from Artistic Etchings.

I still thought it looked a little bare, so I added some black glimmer leaves, a bit of Soft Sky seam binding and a little chevron heart.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I never have enough get-well cards, so this is the beginning of my stash!  Thanks for popping in today!

So here's a shot of our garage sale....luckily we could have it IN the garage:

Of course, not everything was for sale....all the men who shopped were very interested in buying all the tools and equipment that weren't for sale, LOL!  Cassidy got in on the action too...she helped Grampy put up the signs at the end of the driveway:

and she was very helpful in pricing all the goodies:

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge too!  Be blessed!

PPA152 and FMS73 for Valentine’s Day!

DSCF2945-001

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope everyone gets lots of “sweetness” today!  For my project today, I chose some sweet colors from the Pals Paper Arts challenge:

PrimrosePoolRed

I wanted to make a special treat bag for my daughter to take to work; I saved this little pancake mix bag that we had gotten in a gift basket for Christmas:

(They were yummy, too!)  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

to transform my bag!

I wheeled the background and used some images from Artistic Etchings as well as the Spring mini set Collage Curios; the doily was a little too big to fit my panel, so I pleated it a bit and added my heart, butterfly and key embellishments:

And of course, it is filled with some yummy goodies!

For a friend of mine who LOVES chocolate, I made a heart candy kiss holder after seeing this on Martha Stewart’s website:

It’s a bit difficult to see, but it has two little petal-shaped pockets; I made this one out of some heavier-weight DP from my “other” friend Martha!!  I started out with a 6x6” square, followed the directions for folding and cutting it out, and then embellished it with some little doodads and a pretty gingham ribbon.  There is a video that you can see here that explains the process a little more clearly than on the MS website.

Finally, this little treat came from my sweet friend Frenchie….she sent this all the way from Florida for Cassidy:

It’s adorable!  Thanks so much, Frenchie!  Thanks, all, for visiting today!

Trying to get that last little flake out of the breakfast bowl!

Paper Players 108

DSCF5994
Happy Sunday, everyone!  Ann is our fabulous hostess today, and she’s got a wonderful color combo for you!
And here we go:
PP108 - LeAnne New
I struggled a bit with these colors; I didn’t want to make a patriotic-themed card, and finally decided on making another vintage-style with Postage Due, French Foliage, Artistic Etchings and Tiny Tags.  The sentiment is from a retired set called Small Sayings.  That pretty Cherry Cobbler DP is from the new Festival of Prints pack available in the new Holiday Mini.  I love that it can be used for more than just Christmas!  I hope Ann doesn’t mind that I added a neutral Very Vanilla in the mix!  This is also for the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge #24, which is vintage travel!

Be sure to see what the others at the Paper Players have come up with this week.  They’ve got a nice array of wonderful creations that are sure to inspire you!

“Grammy, how do you make this thing work?”

Monkey Sketch 74

DSCF8066

Oh, those sweet girls Terry & Shirley over A La Card Monkey---they asked me to be a guest designer again!  Of course I said “yes”!  Here’s the sketch, with the theme “You’ve Got A Friend”:

Monkey 74 Friend-001

and I was just looking for an excuse to get my new Creative Elements inky:

Monkey 74

I hadn’t done anything vintage for a while….the Well Worn DP gave me my colors.  I first stamped the emblem image from Artistic Etchings and punched them out.  Then the floral image was stamped first in Versamark, then Night of Navy and stamped on Very Vanilla, then embossed with Clear embossing powder and shaded with Crumb Cake.

DSCF8067-2

I stamped the flourish on some First Edition DP, layered it with vellum; stamped the frame and sentiment from You’re A Gem on another piece of vellum and layered it on top.  SU’s new beautiful velvet ribbon and an Antique brad finished it off.

I hope you’ll play along with all the other creative stampers at the Card Monkey this week!!!

Just a fun little picture of MY little grand-monkey:

Paper Players 33

DSCF6501

Happy Sunday to everyone!  First, I want to announce the winner of my Paper Players blog candy!  Random.org chose #26, which is Princess Lisa!  Congratulations!  And thanks to EVERYONE who participated!!!  It was an awesome blog hop!

Now on to the challenge!  Today, our hostess is Ann and she has chosen a LOVE theme!!  Love is in the Air!

Challenge 33

I really struggled with photographing this project, and I still don’t think I have captured its “prettiness”!   I wanted to do a horizontal “LOVE” banner, but I don’t have any large alphabet dies, so I thought I would do a little vertical “love” banner with the Lovely Letters alphabet set:

PP33-new

Here’s a closer picture; it just looks washed out, it’s really a nice deep hue:

DSCF6499-1I hung it on a wreath in my kitchen, but it would look sweet anywhere!  I didn’t put a lot of embellishments on it, but I could see where you could go crazy with all kinds of goodies!  Maybe I’ll do another one again!  This time I topped it with two felt flowers from the Fun Flowers die, a button and antique brad, all atop a bow made from some Very Vanilla seam binding.

DSCF6500

The backing squares are Regal Rose and Crumb Cake; the Very Vanilla scallops were cut with the Scallop Squares Duo die; and the DP is Springtime Vintage.  The letters were stamped in Soft Suede and overstamped with the medallion image from Artistic Etchings in Crumb Cake.  Everything was sponged with Soft Suede for a vintage look.  The ribbon & lace were layered underneath.  I really enjoyed making this project!

Now let’s see what “love-themed” creation you can come up with!  You can see all the designers’ creations at the Paper Players blog!  As well, you can see all the winners of last week’s Blog Hop, too!  Hope you were one of the lucky ones!

  • Stamps:  Lovely Letters, Artistic Etchings, Style Beautifiul

  • Ink:  Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
  • Acc:  Scallop Squares Duo  Diecut, Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Victoria Crochet Trim, VV Seam Binding, Subtles Button, Antique Brad, felt, dimensionals, daubers

Stampin’ Royalty Challenge 55

DSCF6256-2

Stampin’ Royalty’s challenge this week is to use anything with wings!  Since I already had my Nature Walk sitting on my desk, and I needed a thank you card, it was a no-brainer!  I LOVE bees---one of the main reasons I got this set---so I decided to highlight that little bee for my small 4x4 note card:

DSCF6257

I guess I am stuck on vintage this week…..I used lots of vintage SU images, faux stitching this time instead of using my sewing machine, same seam binding technique, a couple of vellum butterflies and some pearls!  I added some Jelly Roll sparkle to the small butterfly and the bee’s wings  (which you can’t really see):
