ColourQ236

DSCF2033

I am so glad Arielle has a beautiful fresh palette for us today, because it has been nothing but gray and dreary here in PA!  What do you think of these:

I chose to substitute Pool Party for Cool Caribbean for my card today!

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch 340 from this week:

I used elements from Betsy Blossoms and Summer Silhouettes as well as a sentiment from Remembering your Birthday:

Such happy colors!  I hope you can play along with us this week too!  Check out all the details and sample at the ColourQ blog!

Another one of those “quiet” moments….I came in to find Cassidy emptying her bureau drawer of ALL her outfits and piling them in her little cart.  She was going shopping at Walmart:

She informed me she even had a credit card!!!

HSS182 Sympathy

DSCF1644

Believe it or not, I needed three sympathy cards yesterday!  I used the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch for two of them:

I used a piece of Quatrefancy Specialty DP for the main panel; Betsy Blossoms and Petite Pairs for the stamped pieces, and diecuts from Beautiful Wings for my embellishment:

And here’s the inside; I inked the flower in Pool Party, stamped it once on my scrap, then again on the inside, stamping the sentiment in Island Indigo over top:

I like how it ties it all together!

For my second one, I used some MME papers, a retired Cornish Heritage Farm Bible verse and the flowers and swirl from Everything Eleanor:

After stamping the flowers in Primrose Petals, I cut apart some of the petals, sponged everything and popped up the top layer:

My sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray and cut out with an Apothecary Accent die.  I am also submitting this to the Anything Goes Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!   Thanks for visiting today!

More play-doh fun!  I think this was a plate of “mashed potatoes” for Grampy!

FMS126

DSCF1277

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The weekend is almost here!  I loved the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Check it out:
In my self-imposed challenge to use some sets that haven’t seen the light of day lately, I dusted off Papaya Collage and pulled out the bird.  Edited to add:  this bird is from Betsy' Blossoms, NOT Papaya Collage!!!  I am also challenged by this particular pattern from the Fresh Prints collection, most of which I LOVE, but this one is just a little out of my comfort zone.  So I paired them up and came up with this:

It’s all pretty straightforward; I did add an embossed panel just so I could anchor my ribbons behind it, but everything else is plain and simple!  I also popped up the wing as well as the “hi” with some dimensionals:

It’s pretty bright….but overall, I like it!

I also wanted to show you my original card for this week’s challenge at the Paper Players:

The theme was Spring Thank You; I love this card, but I really didn’t think the black made it very springy, so I put it aside.  But I thought I would share it anyway!  And Baja Breeze is retired, sadly….it’s still one of my favorite blues!

Cassidy “rediscovered” her homemade play-doh, and she literally played with this for about two hours…..I haven’t had her be so focused on one plaything ever!!!  She informed us she was making Christmas cookies, and she made a whole plateful!

Paper Players 178

DSCF0168

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Today it is my turn to host the Paper Players challenge, and I have chosen a fresh spring palette for our latest color challenge:

I took my inspiration from a cute apron DH got me for Christmas:

Aren’t those cupcakes sweet?  He did a good job picking this one out, and I love it and wear it all the time!  I even thought about making a cupcake card, but I pulled out a set that hasn’t gotten inky for a long time:  Betsy’s Blossoms!  I needed a thank you for a special customer, so here we go
:

My Coastal Cabana card base is actually a little narrower than 4 1/4” so that the leaves hanging off the edge would still fit into the envelope.  It’s really a simple card, lots of stamping in the challenge colors and then cutting and popping up some of the elements:

and here’s the inside

I did do a little paper piercing as well for some added interest!  I love these colors together and hope you do too!  I can’t wait to see what you create with them.  Share them with us at the Paper Players blog so we can be inspired as well!  And you can check out what the rest of the design team created here at their blogs:
Dana shared this picture on FB; I am not quite sure what she was telling Cassidy, but the look on her face was too funny not to share!

Paper Players 99 & FMS38

 DSCF3200

It’s Sunday, and another Paper Players Challenge is upon us!  Today, Lesley has a fab & funky color challenge—woo, this one really threw me for a loop!

I went bold and basic today, since these are really strong colors together!  I used my new Betsy’s Blossoms and paired it with Friendly Phrases to make some cards for my top four sellers in my downline:

PP99-LeAnne

It’s a bit dificult to see, but I stamped the sentiment on the Basic Gray DP in Stazon; I wish I had heat embossed it, oh well!!!  I added some dry embossing and new stitched ribbon, along with a few strategically-placed pearls!

 DSCF3202 DSCF3203

I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this week as well:

I sure hope you’ll fly over to the Paper Players blog and see what the other designers have created with this bold color palette!  And we hope you’ll share your creations as well!

Cassidy wanted to go “wimmin” and decided to take matters into her own hands, going into the storage shed and hauling out her blow-up pool from last year!  All on her own!

Grampy convinced her that playing with her water table would be just as fun:

And between it and the sandbox, she had a blast!!!
