Just Wanted to Say Thanks

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It feels very much like Monday to me, as we went to the Delaware shore for a wee little mini-vacation over the weekend.  I should have brought my shorts, as it was very warm!  Anyway, we are back and I am trying to get back into my stamping groove!  The sketch from Atlantic Hearts seemed fun, especially paired with an interesting color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

I pulled out Happiness Abounds to use it one more time before it retires, so here we go:

I mounted some strips of Pool Party and Mint Macaron DSPs on a scrap piece of paper and trimmed it down, then stamped, diecut and watercolored some flowers and leaves from the set.  I combined sentiments from Country Bouquet and Biggest Wish to finish it off:

I did add a couple of sequins from my yard sale stash to the centers of the flowers for some pizzazz!  Thanks for popping in today!

The town of Lewes, Delaware, is where we stayed; it's the same town where Dana and Wayne got married, and they are noted for their gorgeous flower beds!  The tulips were just about done in most of the beds, but I managed to snag a few photos nonetheless:

Wisteria along the canal, and some lovely lilacs:

Tulips everywhere:

And even a wreath I saw on a door--so pretty!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

HSS410 Hand-Penned Petals

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The weekend is almost upon us....bringing rain, rain, rain!  Well, I guess it will be a good time to stay inside and stamp!  I had Hand Penned Petals on my desk from another project and thought it would be good to use with the color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments this week as well as the sketch from FMS:

So here we go:

This is such a pretty image, I am not sure why I haven't used it more!  After stamping and diecutting the image, I mounted it on a Basic White panel diecut with the new Radiating Stitches die that was sponged with some Balmy Blue ink.  A wee bit of Fresh Freesia DSP formed a mat, and I did some paper piecing of various strips of Balmy Blue DSP to create the horizontal piece.

The sentiment is from Happiness Abounds.  I have another friend getting knee surgery today and I may send this to her as an encouragement card!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

The heavesn declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.  There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.  Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.  Psalm 19:1-4

FMS570 Sympathy

Happy Monday morning, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend!  It was a good one for Philly sports fans for sure as the Eagles are headed to the Super Bowl!  My SIL is one happy Eagles fan!  I spent a wee bit of time in my craft room this weekend because I needed a sympathy card and I am squeaking this one in over at Freshly Made Sketches just in the nick of time!  Here's their sketch from Jen T:

And here we go:

I used some pretty papers from Carta Bella called Home Again and paired them with the large floral image from Happiness Abounds:

It was stamped in the retired shade of Mellow Moss (which SU should never have retired, in my opinion!) and I also stamped some leaves on Mellow Moss cardstock, and diecut everything out.  The sentiment from Special Moments was stamped in Evening Evergreen.  I did add a wee bit of satin ribbon from my stash along with a diecut border.  On the inside, a Stamp Simply Bible verse:

It will be in the mail today!  Thanks for popping in!

Cassidy's team did win their basketball game although she sat out for a lot of it.  Her karate black belt testing is starting and she did several hours of intense work the Friday night and Saturday morning before her game, so she was just worn out.  She did recover enough to go bowling with her church friends on Saturday afternoon:

I forgot to ask her if she managed to a spare on this one!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC500 Hues of Happiness Birthday

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is a long skinny one this week:

and so I decided to make a birthday card using the beautiful Hues of Happiness DSP; they have several ombre patterns which I thought would fit the sketch nicely!  So here we go:

Stampin' Up! has some long skinny envelopes in this year's catalogs, so I made my card 8 1/2" x 3 3/4" to fit.  I cut one panel of the ombre DSP, then fussy cut flowers to coordinate with each section, stamping the birthday greeting from Happiness Abounds in Melon Mambo below the pink flower:

These papers are so gorgeous, making a beautiful card is quite easy!  I stamped two more sentiments on the inside and stamped a floral outline in Blushing Bride on top.  And it's ready to go in the mail!

I finally found a primitive frame at a yard sale recently for 25 cents; it was the right size to frame my little turkey sampler that I stitched in 2020! I took a break from stamping and put it all together just in time for the holiday!

I have to stop stitching these things...I'm running out of room to display them, LOL!  Thanks for visiting today...enjoy it and be blessed!

HSS401 Let's Celebrate

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a birthday card to share today, and it uses the sketch from Hand-Stamped Sentiments:

Although the sketch shows snowflakes, I opted for flowers, and thought I would challenge myself to use Orchid Oasis, since purple hues are really out of my comfort zone!  So here we go:

I used DSPs in Orchid Oasis for the main panels, then stamped florals from Color & Contour in matching ink, stamping off once for the "filler" portion of the flower.  The sentiment is from Simply Fabulous and although they're hard to see, I added some matte dots here and there:

I used the pretty birthday sentiment from Happiness Abounds on the inside, along with a few more stamped-off flowers!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Fusion Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hopping in here very quickly with a sweet little card that uses the Fusion sketch challenge, because it is my FAVORITE sketch of all and my go-to one when I am stressed for time or ideas!:

I needed a quick birthday card, so I pulled out my Hues of Happiness DSP and let it do most of the work:

I used the Blossoming Happiness dies to cut out a rose and some greenery from another piece of the DSP, and popped it up on top of a Night of Navy strip that was diecut with the spiral strip Blossoming Happiness die:

I added some gems and a sentiment from Happiness Abounds, then added another sentiment and a flower stamped in Versamark on the inside of the Pool Party card:

And this one is in the mail!

As I was running errands today, I came across this pretty image that was on the side of a building; this town has cool murals on many of its buildings, but this was the first time I had seen this one..so nice!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC495 Congratulations

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  My card today is for a couple's anniversary and I cannot believe that I don't have ANY really nice anniversary stamps!  SO I've made them a congratulations card, congratulating them for being married for such a long time (I know it's over 40 years!) and I hope they'll "get" my drift, LOL!  Here we go:

I began with some fall-ish DSP from the retired Rings of Love and stamped a retired background stamp called Sanded right on top with some Crumb Cake ink to give it a more rustic look.  I diecut a leaf from Poppy Parade cardstock and stamped it too, then sponged the edges.  I fit it into a So Saffron diecut circle and finally, added a sentiment from Happiness Abounds.  I did some tricky cutting to get it to fit into that banner die, and I had to laugh because the sketch that I used from Atlantic Hearts actually shows the same thing!

I added an Early Espresso suede bow for some contrast, then combined two stamps for the inside:

Everything went on a Soft Suede mat and a Very Vanilla card base!  Hope they like it!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP603 Rings of Love Birthday

Hello, everyone!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today with a theme challenge that everyone can appreciate---birthdays!  We all need birthday cards, right?

Although the inspiration photo shows lots of bright colors, cakes, balloons and gifts (and a cute dog!), I chose to go in a more earthy theme, because I am still trying to use up some of my gorgeous Rings of Love DSP!  The birdie pattern is my favorite, so I paired it with some Daffodil Delight DSP and some retired Night of Navy seam binding ribbon for a super-easy card:

I stamped the pretty sentiment from Happiness Abounds directly on the DSP in Night of Navy ink, then added a layer of the Rings of Love DSP and ribbon.

Since it is such a simple design, I added a layer of Misty Moonlight to bring out the blue hues, and then mounted that all on a Crumb Cake card base. Sometimes, when you're uber-busy, letting the papers do most of the work is perfectly acceptable!  This card will be going to a friend from church and I hope she likes it!

Now, what will you create?  The possibilities are endless...will you do masculine, child, or maybe you'll do a doggie birthday, LOL!  Share them with us at the Paper Players blog so everyone can see your fun creation!  Thanks for popping in today!

The last of my birthday cards!  This fun one is from my PP teammate, Claire:

And my friend Kathy sent this gorgeous one:

And Shawn created this dazzling beauty---she always knows how to add the right amount of bling and sparkle:

And Wendy sent me these cupcakes, my favorite kind--non-caloric!

Finally, from across the pond, Joanne, another PP teammate, send me this beauty!  This bouquet will never fade!

My friends have blessed me with their creations! Enjoy your day and be blessed as well!

FMS545 Ruthie's Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hot enough for you?  Phew!  Scary stuff out there, be sure to stay cool!  I have a quick birthday card for our retired pastor's wife and it uses the FMS sketch:

It's no secret that I like trios of things, so this sketch jumped out at me right away!  I decided to give my SU papers a break and pulled out some Carta Bella papers called Home Again, because Ruthie loves gardening and flowers:

The panels were diecut with Stitched Rectangle dies, and after heat-embossing the sentiment from Happiness Abounds, it was diecut with a Stylish Shapes banner die.  I added some Pierced Blooms flowers and leaves and mounted it on a Basic White panel embossed with the retired Ornate Flower embossing folder.

I added another sentiment on the inside and it's all ready to hand-deliver to her on Sunday!  Thanks for visiting today!

Wayne got to do one of his favorite things while in Georgia:

Yikes, I have no idea what that is....scary looking tail, though!

They also saw some local wildlife....thanks, but no thanks!

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!
