PP555 Graduation Congrats

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Laurie is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fun sketch:

I love sketches!  I happened to need a graduation card for a young man in our church, so this was a perfect way to put this sketch to use!  He graduated from the same high school I did, and our school colors are maroon and gold, so I got out some Merry Merlot and Bumblebee products and went to work:

My card base is Merry Merlot, and I added an embossed panel on top, using the retired Alphabet Press EF for a school vibe!  I had some leftover Bumblebee DSP from last year, so I diecut a tag and added a stitched and embossed star on top, accenting it with a Merry Merlot tab and some twill ribbon from my stash:

The sentiment is from Hand-Penned Petals, diecut with the Tasteful Labels die.  Easy and fun!

What will you create with this sketch?  Check out what the DT made at the Paper Players blog, then share your creation with us too!  Thanks for popping by today!

Yesterday was to have been Cassidy's birthday party, but due to her fractured ankle, they decided to put up a tent and have a drive-by!  Her friend Ben came over to hang out with her, and here they are posing with one of her favorite gifts...a giant squirt gun.  She'll have to wait until her ankle heals to use it though!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS495 Grad Card

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a quick card that I made for an upcoming graduation!  The young man's school colors are maroon and white, so I used them and the sketch from FMS:

So here we go:

This is actually a note-card sized card, as I didn't have ANY graduation cap stamps except this wee little one from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, so I just decided to size it down to fit!  I embossed the front with a star embossing folder and the diagonal panel with the new Checks embossing folder, then added the year with diecut foam letters:

I added a Basic Black stitched mat around each one and added a "congratulations" stamp on the inside!  I know he'll appreciate it but will probably be more appreciative of the gift inside!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy with a (pretend) penguin:

and Dana and Cassidy with REAL ones!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Lots of Grad Cards

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  We had five local students from our church graduate from high school and college this year, so I set about to make some simple graduation cards!!  I tried to customize them to their school colors, but kept most of the designs similar!  The first one was maroon and white...in this case, the new Merry Merlot and Whisper White!  I used the Large Numbers die, a tiny little graduation cap from a 2015 SU graduation set, and a sentiment from the new Itty Bitty Greetings, embossed in white:

The inside sentiment, used on all the cards, was from two sets:  the "congrats" is from the retired  Suite Sentiments, the "Let Your Light Shine" is from Close to My Heart:

I had two from my very own alma mater, Avon Grove HS, and our school colors are maroon and gold!  I used some retired Hello Honey cardstock and DSP and the same elements for their cards:

And one had gold and navy as his school colors, so he got the striped Hello Honey paper and Night of Navy numbers:

And since this is for a young man, I am entering it in Cards in Envy's "Let's Hear it for the Boys" challenge!

Finally, I did a total one-eighty with this fun card for a college grad.  I found some fun papers in a  American Crafts' Little by Little 6x6 pad,  and so I could use the whole width of the DSP,  I made hers into a 6" x 3 3/4" card and added a few more elements

The same CTMH set (Inspired Words Day-to-Day) has several little Christian messages, so I added a few here and there, as well as an embossed "celebrate"!   Easy and FUN!!  I love those little pictures!!

Since Cassidy's birthday is in the summer, her class is celebrating all the summer birthdays today!  She spent yesterday afternoon making up treat bags for her classmates!

Thanks for popping by for a visit today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Pinterest Grad Cards

Happy Thursday, peeps!  My friend Billie came over on Monday to make a couple of graduation cards and we needed some ideas, so we trolled Pinterest to get some! I apologize for the photos..they were taken on my kitchen table, LOL!

Billie's grandson will be graduating soon, and his school colors were navy and burnt orange, so we made a card for him based on this card by demo Doris Denman, found on Pinterest:

We used French Script, stamped on a piece of scrap computer paper to create the diploma;  a couple of Paper Pumpkin sets for the sentiment, and Large Numbers dies for the numbers; the inside used a retired set called Adventure Awaits!

Her nephew will also be graduating from the Philadelphia Police Academy, so we thought stars would be a great theme for his card, based on this card from SUO Challenges; unfortunately, I couldn't figure out which designer actually made the card to give her credit!  We used the Lucky Stars EF, a Nestie star die set and Watercolor Wishes for the sentiment:

We had such a good time stamping together!  Billie was one of my very first demonstrators and has been my stamping companion for over 15 years!

No Cassidy pix today, but I wanted to share the mermaid blanket Dana crocheted for Cassidy...looks warm and toasty, doesn't it?!  Her own pattern too, my clever girl!

Roofers were here on Tuesday and should be finished on Friday...the weather has not been cooperative this week like it was last week!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Foxy Catalog CASE

Hi peeps!  My card today is almost a total CASE of one from page 56 of the catalog, using the new set Foxy Friends!  I just love this set, but there are almost too many images from which to choose!  I had to look at the picture to figure out what face goes with what body and even then, I still didn't figure out how they got white ears on the sample....I guess they punched them out too!  The punch does make it fun to play with the different pieces...sort of like paper dolls, only they're paper animals!  So here we go....Smoky Slate, Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder are great colors together!

This cute paper is called A Little Foxy....isn't it sweet?  I fussy-cut the stump, mushroom and greenery to make my little scene.  I also added some new Pool Party ribbon:

and since this will be a graduation card for a sweet girl from church, I added "congrats" on the front (Cottage Greetings) and this big bold sentiment from Adventure Awaits on the inside:

I hope she likes it!

We set up Cassidy's kiddie pool last week when it was hot; with cooler weather predicted this week, she probably won't go near it!  Anyway, Grampy put her to work, bringing the air hose over from the shop....pretty smart idea!

She couldn't even wait until the water was in it to jump in!

She made sure her dolls were in on the water action too!

Enjoy your day!!!

PPA302 Graduation Day

Happy Saturday, everyone!  This is going to be quick, as we are going to our town's annual Memorial Day parade, in which DH will be marching as well as being a part of the Honor Guard which performs the three-volley salute!  So exciting!  My card today is a graduation card for my nephew, whose school colors are green and black!  The new In Color Emerald Envy was perfect:

This is a really large card, almost 5x7"; I wanted to use the Pals Paper Arts sketch shown here:

PPA-302-May26

and it was still a tight squeeze to get all those numbers in!  My background paper is from Canvas Corp, and I used these papers last year on some grad cards and my customer gave me the leftovers!  The chevron looked great with the bold green numbers!  The "class of" is from last year's Occasions Catalog, and I just cut off the "2015".   The sentiment at the top is from Paper Pumpkin and I added a little mortarboard which was also from last year's set!

And on the inside, more Paper Pumpkin sentiments and images, and the stars from Holly Jolly Greetings!

Thanks for popping in!

Cassidy got some bath crayons and was practicing writing names on the tub wall!

This one was my favorite:

Enjoy your day!

Mojo Monday 401 Grad Card

DSCF0423

Happy Friday peeps!  Hope you have a great weekend planned!  I needed to make a few more graduation cards so for one of them, I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this week:

I was wracking my brain, trying to come up with a different set to use that would encourage and congratulate a new graduate, and I remember the Papertrey set, Star Prints.  I pulled out some star-studded DSP from MME called Fly a Kite, then stamped my images in some matching colors and mounted it on a Pear Pizzazz card base:

I did emboss the smaller panel with the Star EF from SU; added some baker’s twine atop my little zigzag panel, and added a red rhinestone to the center of the star:

And here’s the inside with sentiments from Class of 2015, Something to Say and again, PTI’s Star Prints:

It was fun to mix and match sets!  Thanks for visiting today!

Well, it’s not officially summer here in PA, but you couldn’t tell from the thermometer yesterday…hot & sticky!  I got out the Slip & Slide, extended it a wee bit with another piece of plastic, and Cassidy and her cousins had a blast:

5 YO Trent went at it full blast!

Cassidy was a bit more lady-like!

3 YO Jack never let up…he was like a sliding machine!

And after a few slippery attempts, 2YO Chaz just decided to throw water on everyone!

Fusion and CCMC358

DSCF0272-001

Howdy peeps!  A whirlwind week and weekend here in PA, so this will be short & sweet!  I have a graduation party to attend, and I even though I thought the Fusion inspiration photo was AWESOME, I only used the sketch:
as well as the Create with Connie & Mary colors:
CCMC358
So here we go:

Sentiment is from Something to Say; balloons are from last month’s Paper Pumpkin; stars were stencilled on with So Saffron ink.  Although it’s tough to see, the popped up stars are Gold Foil, Hello Honey and Gold Glimmer:

and I stamped the Class of 2015 stamp on the inside with the sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin kit too:
